For the second time in 2 weeks a restaurant did not have my reservation on file even tho I got an OT confirmation. What is going on at Open Table? Also I mentioned this was a special occasion (birthday) yet the restaurant made no mention of this - poor pr.

Hi Jaxx, this is very odd, because we always have a team looking at reservations on file, so the fact that twice it didn't show up must be something wrong on OpenTable's side which we will look into, as for your birthday, we apologize that the server did not pick up on it and celebrated the way you should have been celebrated. If you can send us your receipt so we can investigate further, we appreciate it.

We enjoyed our meal there however we specifically asked for a booth and Hendricks came back confirming they got our message. When we got there they said they were no booths available for two people and that they were only for parties six and more. So we took a pub table that was offered to us. However, when we left and walked by the front of Hendricks restaurant we noticed on the other side of the restaurant they were many empty booths available able to take a party of two, party of four, and a party of six. They did not tell us the truth and I don’t think they even tried to put us in a booth because clearly they were not offering booths to anyone, maybe because they didn’t want to pay for the extra staff. For that reason alone they get a 3 rating and we won’t be going back there anytime soon.

Hi Benbo, Sorry to hear about your experience, but because of the lack of staff due to the issues occurring right now in the industry, we have our dining room level closed. We apologize that the staff never told you this when you were there, but that is the truth. We would like more than anything to open completely and are working thunderously hard to hire staff in order to do so. We are glad you enjoyed the meal and service.

This was an excellent choice! Reservations suggested. When we arrived they asked if we were headed to a show at the CAA Mirvish theatre that evening - we were. We were seated immediately. Our server arrived promptly and confirmed we were headed to the show. Drink orders taken right away. Specials explained. Food order taken even before the drinks arrived. Food arrived so fast - it was awesome! The food and service were excellent! Definitely coming back!

A friend and I were in Hendricks on the early evening of 18th May. We were immediately seated and given menus and water by our very attentive server, Amanda. Our server told us the specials and we ordered our drinks. We shared a dish of calamari for starters and it was hot, cooked properly and delicious. Our main courses were also piping hot and very generous. I can highly recommend the roast chicken and their pasta special. We shared a dessert and the apple pie was very good. The bubbly by the glass is good value as was the bottle of wine we shared (Wednesday is half price for all wines except the champagne). The food was very good as was the wine but our friendly and knowledgeable server completed our meal perfectly.

I took a friend for a Saturday lunch and introduced her to Hendriks. She took a taxi and both her an the driver had trouble locating it on Yonge Street. She said "I haven't been down here in ages and I never noticed it before while walking." The full dining room (love those leather banquettes) hasn't been open since the reopening after the Pandemic, but it wasn't too busy and diners were distanced in the bar and in the mini bar seating area. Our server wasn't too busy and did not give us 1 minute to say hello before he wanted to take our drink/food order. My friend told him we haven't seen each other in ages and we needed more time (that was diplomatic and quite clear or so I thought). He was back every 2-3 minutes even though we weren't looking at the menus. We rushed to order as he was getting irritating. We ordered drinks and settled in for a chat. Food order came much later because we wanted to have a cocktail and be left alone. We also had presents to open - we were celebrating both our birthdays - and he still wouldn't leave us alone. Waiter rushed our drink (we didn't bother with a second because he kept interrupting our conversation). The food - as always - was presented beautifully and the portions are very generous by my standards. I had the seared tuna salad and it was perfect. A lot of other tables were ordering burgers and they looked amazing so I'll try one next time. Mid-way through our lunch the waiter returned to announce he was going on a 1 hour break and someone else would be taking care of us. It was nice of him to let us know, and the waitress he left us to was not intrusive and did not rush us.
