Nice shared outdoor table, great service and food was good.
First trip out after lockdown. Our anniversary lunch was great. Good spacing and all staff in masks. I felt pretty safe.
Food was delicious and exceptional. Not one complaint. Restaurant was immaculate. Server was kind, friendly and on top of his game.
My husband and I took our granddaughter there for lunch. She is not fond of seafood, but the menu offered great tacos and grilled chicken as well. I had two shrimp tacos, filled with perfectly grilled shrimp. We treated ourselves to dessert, a different one for each of us, then realized we could have shared one! It was quiet, probably due to COVID19, and staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend it!
They were following distancing and santizing (although that doesn't worry me). There chowder is to die for. I ordered chowder and wedge salad. The wedge salad was huge (only ate half and took the other half home) and full of flavor. My son order tacos and raved about the shrimp tacos. Never disappointed with whatever we order. Glad they are open.
Was a great experience for our first time out with the family . Since everything closed due to Covid-19 . The food was amazing and service was perfect and friendly . Overall the environment was perfect.
It’s an open air place which is wonderful but not during so much construction all around them. It would have been a good idea to share that before reservations are made.
Great service, over cooked halibut. My fish was very dry. My husband had the Cobb salad and he said the dressing was very papery. So loud you had to shout to be heard over the very sad singer guitar player, canned rhythms. Not at all what I expected.
The construction across the street blocks the view of the ocean and it is extremely noisy. Service was decent. The real disappointment was the fish in the three mains were overcooked. This was a surprise for a seafood restaurant. We expected more from the restaurant.
Great place! Great atmosphere. Kid friendly, but not childish. Would definitely recommend for large groups or family dinners. We really enjoyed the live music too.
The food was excellent, service a bit slow, but the live musician was way too loud and could be quieter by 20-30 decibels.
The fish tacos were just OK. There was so much noise from the construction across the street, we couldnt carry on a conversation. The fried calamari had a really thick batter on it. way more batter then calamari. I was pleased that the server removed it from my bill which is why they get a really high score. He was attentive without being smotering
Service was slow, noisy environment, not very comfortable seating but the food was good. The server was friendly. The fresh fish was good. The fish tacos were excellent.
We had a group and they split our bill with no problem. Def attentive and polite. The food was good and quick.
We had family visiting two years ago and they enjoyed the seafood pasta. Betty's was a top item on their wish list when they visited this year. They agreed that the seafood pasta was still top notch and worth coming back to. The Tacos are good too!
Well, first off they didn’t even mark through Open Table that my party arrived so I had to respond to Open Table’s email that I indeed make it for my reservation. We were seated and it took about 10 minutes for our drink orders to be taken. Then about another 10 minutes for our food order. Our food actually arrived in a timely manner but once we got our food, we had to hunt people down if we needed anything. I ordered the fish and chips which wasn’t beer batter so I didn’t enjoy it. No one checked on us, we had to ask for help. The place was almost full but there was plenty of staff on hand. I don’t think Hello Betty will come to mind when dining in Oceanside and no future recommendations from me. So so experience.
It was great. Had such great Service and good food. 10/10
Our server was superb and it made me happy that he had a Jesus ballcap on! Always great fish at Hello Betty!
Hello Betty was good enough, nothing spectacular. Margaritas were made with a sugary mix, nothing felt particularly done with detail nor was it horrible either. Our server Chris was super awesome.
it was our first time there. Wonderful everything. We'll be back.
Food was good but our server was rarely at our table. We would have had more drinks and dessert but it took so long between our table being cleared and her coming back we did not feel like sticking around and wasting more time. I had put on our reservation we were celebrating an engagement. I booked the reservation and it was meant to be a surprise for my brother and future sister in law but the manager asked my brother if we were celebrating anything. My brother said no since he did not know about me writing that note. Earlier I was the one to respond when the manager originally asked if we were the table with a reservation. It would have been nice to have had the celebration we were looking for on our last night of vacation. Makes me question returning to the restaurant next time we are in town.
Food was great.... enjoyed it...very casual comfortable restaurant. My second time at Hello Betty..we will be back next year on our spring break vacation.
We brought out 3 littles (6, 3, and 1) and had a wonderful dinner! Very casual, great happy hour. Open format restaurant so I never felt like my kids were bothering other people. Great food and cocktails! Our waitress was amazing. She made it such a relaxing night! Highly recommend this for families with kiddos or even people without kids!
Service was okay, waited a while to get seated even though we had a reservation. I called and tried to make a reservation and was told they had no openings. I then went on open table and got a reservation. Then when we finally got seated and it took 10 min to be greeted by our server
I had made a reservation on Open Table, but when our friends arrived and asked for our reserved table they were told that the restaurant did not take reservations. When I arrived, I showed the reservation on my phone to the receptionist who miraculously then said we could have a table. Our friends were at the bar and had been told a table would not be available for 35 minutes--and most interesting than anything, there were many, many open tables that never had occupants even through our entire dinner, So, we did not have a good start here for our first time (and we have friends who have had very similar experiences), but the food and service was good once we were seated.
Our server, Crystal, was terrific. The food was delicious - especially the local fresh-catch swordfish. Good craft beer selection. Overall a great night out. We will be back soon.
We had a late breakfast there on the patio on a beautiful Sunday morning...food was interesting and delicious, and the jalapeno margaritas were too!
My group of 6 girlfriends got together for lunch. We each ordered something different and all meals were fabulous. Our waitress was wonderful.
Had a party of 12 including kids which is always a challenge. Server (Jen) and team were so accommodating and made us feel so welcome. Food was excellent and good value. Would recommend this to family and friends.
First time being there. Was a group of 10 for a bday. Got put in the corner which had no air circulation and it was blazing! Only downfall. Service was on point as well as the food. Loved how friendly everyone was. Food was so delicious! Will definitely be back!
Great Service and food!!
Love this place! Family friendly! Great atmosphere!
I took my wife and my two y/o daughter for brunch on Mother’s Day. My wife and I ordered the same fish on Mother’s Day special menu and grilled chicken + fries for my daughter. The fries had way too much salt, my fish was so dry falling apart and super salty, my red rice was dry and bland. Nobody asked me how my food was, so it makes me think they know the food sucks. Don’t eat at this place! I wasted $22 on an yellowtail dish. The bar is nice and the upstairs view is amazing!
They got our large party in for a reservation on a busy day. They had some vegan options for my friends, good cocktails, and everyone liked the food.
We were a group of 8 including 2 children. The staff was quick to seat us and get our drink order. They checked on us often and were very efficient taking our order and getting food right
Overall really good! Loved our waitress Linda! Will go back
Fun place to catch a good meal - can't go wrong with being right by the ocean
A local friend recommended this restaurant and it was a frustrating experience. The service was extremely slow. I think it took 20 min to get drinks and the rest of the service followed as slowly. It was freezing inside which made it uncomfortable also. The clam chowder soup came out first but not everyone got crackers. The waitress said she’d bring but never did and we were worried the soup would be cold if we waited much longer. Our waitress was unpleasant so maybe she was just having a bad day.
