   The menu is nice but somewhat limited, and on the evening we visited, they were actually out of all "patties" (i.e., no burgers or any other kind of patty), which we found unusual, this being early evening Saturday. For people who like bar scenes, there's a large bar with lots of seating. Upstairs outdoor dining is still available, but the gorgeous ocean view no longer exists due to recent development of The Seabird Resort that literally blocks all view of the ocean! We did enjoy a light supper of street taco appetizers (octopus with mole sauce and baby potato/corn) and fish and chips, perfectly fried and delicious.

   Overall this was a disappointing experience. We have been here before and it was great so this may have been an off night. They were out of 5 different items we ordered and we had to request items 2-3 times.

   Late making a reservation for Valentine’s Day this was the lone availability. Really didn’t need one This is a bar that serves food. Not anything more. Wine by the bottle is not even on the menu. Seems like a waste considering the location. The wait staff was the same. The food was good. We had shrimp linguini Alfredo. If you are familiar with SheCrab soup or any spicy cream bisque. This was like shrimp and linguini with a spicy bisque sauce. It was tasty with sufficient shrimp. We asked for bread to soak up the sauce. It took a while but we eventually got it we had to pay $2.50 for the bread. A restaurant typically brings bread out shortly after seating. But as stated this is a bar that serves food

   Fish and chips were great. Mahi fish in the taco was overcooked, but otherwise tasty. Fish cake and crab dip apps were tasty, but too salty.

    The parking was limited and difficult to find in that area. I had to clean the table with hand sanitizer because it was sticky. The food and drinks are overpriced for what you receive. My friend didn’t eat the tacos because of the taste. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

    We were able to catch the end of happy hour and enjoyed 1/2 price tacos. Our meal was flavorful and good size portions. Our waitress Claire provided great and attentive service. We always enjoy our experience at Hello Betty and will definitely be back soon.

    We have been coming here for years, before the building was built in front that blocked the view. The service is super friendly. However, the value of menu items has really gone downhill. The tacos are “street” taco size, tiny and $6 ea. They are literally 2 bites. This time someone ordered the fish sandwich. It was cod, which is not an expensive fish and barely took up the bun. It was about half the size. Tiny piece of fish. Someone else ordered the Caesar salad which I realize is plain however it barely had any dressing or cheese on it. Basically a bunch of lettuce. We ended up ordering an entire extra meal of fish and chips because everyone was still hungry. A real bummer as this is a go to place for us but probably will look for somewhere new.

    Staff were outstanding, from the hostesses, to the bartenders and servers. Friendly, professional, & attentive. Crab cheese dip was delicious, my tacos were unadorned but prepared well, grilled fish plate was ample and well cooked, steak dish was also good, as told by the rest of the group. Live music was a perfect touch, very enjoyable.

    We usually dine at least 1 night when we come to Oceanside, Ca. We have waited without a reservation for nearly an hour. This time we had a reservation through OpenTable for 7:00. We arrived early. We were told that there would be a short wait for our table to be ready. I could see there were a number of tables that were empty. I told the hostess of one table that would be just the right size for a table of 3. Was told there would be a short wait. We sat at the bench and waited. Ten minutes later we were shown to the table that I had mentioned. I can't say much for the hostess. When we sat down Cheyenne Brought our water and we perused the menu. We ordered chips and salsa with an addon of Guacamole. Nice serving for $12.00. We ordered our food and each had a beer. Fish and chips, Chowder with a shrimp taco and a 3 taco platter. for 3 of us. Everything was good but in my opinion the tacos were not a great value. They were tasty but sparce. I had 2 shrimp in my street taco for 5 bucks. I don't mind the price if it isn't a poor value. I would Not order that again. All in all it was a mixed bag. They raised their prices and cut back on the serving size. We would still recommend if you are staying or live nearby.

    Our server (Jordan) was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, energetic, and spot-on with taking care of us! We'll come back again just so we can sit in Jordan's section again! The food was stellar as well. Grilled rockfish was perfectly seasoned (and not overseasoned like many places will do) and perfectly grilled. And the black beans were just right as well, which is a miracle in this day and age of everyone adding way too much flavor to something that doesn't need it. And the sauces - we had chips and salsa as a preview to the arbol sauce that we chose with our fish - were all house made and delicious! Can't wait to come back, but will probably try to make it a night without the live music on the roof - a bit too loud and not exactly a band that reflected the quality of the food.

    Their ad was taken upstairs and was very biased. Photo of the ocean. From most seats you saw no ocean. The choices for food and drink was very limited. No happy hour food or drink upstairs. We went back down stairs to eat. The food and drinks were good. Service was also good.

    Came in from out of town so I booked this reservation for my wife’s bday dinner based on the website. It was disappointing. The only thing that was great was our server. Everyone (except for her) looked miserable. It was a weird vibe. The chips and salsa were good though.

    We went there for our 20 year wedding anniversary and had the best experience. Our waitress Jordyn totally made our night as she was the best server we have ever had. Her energy was awesome! The food was amazing!

    This was the 1 restaurant that I was excited to go to during my vacation. It's totally overrated and overpriced considering the size of the 2 bite taco. Servers were friendly but extremely slow and it was a Thursday night with half of the tables empty . Food was cold and just ok. One and done for me.

    Treated a friend visiting from out of town. Cute outdoor patio, lots of space for groups, great service. We enjoyed our cocktails and the crab dip is amazing. Will def come again.

    Sooooo disappointed in the mediocre food. The sign out front says “Fish House”. It is anything but. It does serve some fish but it is not a fish house. We had the fish platter, street tacos and margs. All were pretty tasteless. Sad.

    It took four times of asking for water before we got water; the appetizers came before our water and beer. Then ordered, food came and we had to ask for napkins and utensils, waitress brought 4 servings not for entire party of 6. I got up and went to the bar and got 2 more sets. After lunch, we asked to see a dessert menu and she said there’s only 2 choices; we asked for a minute to decide, she didn’t return for 15 minutes and then asked if we needed any boxes for take home. We requested one of the desserts, she never returned. After another 10 minutes we flagged her down and cancelled dessert, requested our checks. She brought the checks saying she deducted our drinks, except the one beer, and after she gathered the checks finally returned with a to go box. It took 2:40 minutes for lunch. The service was the worse any of us have had in 20 years!!! it’s a shame because I always bring out of town guests here, but I’ll never set foot in there again. So sad, but there are too many restaurants with much better service. I didn’t even decide to call the manager today to let them know just how bad the service is, surely I’m not the first to be disappointed.

    We had to wait a long time for someone to take our order. When the waiter arrived he apologized to my wife and I but explained he had to put in a large order. The dining area was less than half full and most of the patrons were sitting at the bar. We decided to order craft draft beers that were on tap, our appetizer and meals all at once so there were not extended waiting time to see a server again. After about 20 minutes our waiter checked on our table and said “Oh, you still don’t have your beer. I should check on that”. Yes you should. He came back with them in about 5 minutes, still no food. The next time we saw our server he said “Oh, you don’t have any water, can I get you some?” No, just the appetizer. A short time later someone else came to the table with our fried oysters. They were OK, but not great. A third person brought our dinners. My wife had the fried Mexican shrimp and I had three street tacos (shrimp, smoked fish and Baja fish). The meals were very good. The shrimp were fresh and hot out of the fryer. The tacos were excellent and very innovative. The service quality continued to be lacking as it took a long time to have plates cleared and get our check

    Please note that they no longer serve brunch despite their OpenTable saying otherwise. Major disappointment to go there specifically for that and have to find someplace else to eat. Thankfully, the staff was pleasant and pointed us toward a great brunch spot. I still do enjoy this place when not looking for brunch though.

    Got there at about 7:40. The bartender was nice and sat us. The waitress took a while and they seemed to be in a rush and not really want to help because they close at 9pm I suppose. My order was cold my sons was perfect. I asked the other waitress if she could possibly take mine back and explained the issue she was gracious and helped out. It’s a great place I’m just not use to being rushed or being served with plastic cups
