The food and wine were outstanding—so interesting. The service was top-notch as well.
Food was very good. Just not our style but tasty.
Service excellent. Extremely loud, so all of us had to talk loudly the entire meal.
Enjoyed it. Good food and service.
Octopus was not on point today and the fish was a bit dry.
Not the best day for the chef.
I really loved the quail. The ambiance was nice and romantic. Their wine selection is very tasty. My boyfriend ordered the ‘greek lasagna’ and got sick for a couple of days. We are still trying to figure out what exactly got him. I’d still visit again though
The food and service are outstanding! The restaurant is a little noisy though.
The New Years Eve special was very good. Plenty to split the meal with a couple of appetizers.
Out of our wine which is always disappointing.
We have been several times and this time the service wasn’t great. It took awhile for someone to greet us when we walked in. Then we waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. Our particular service was horrible; however, The food was delicious and everything we had was wonderful. The service around us seemed to be fair, our particular waiter was very slow and hardly came to our table and didn’t seem to be thrilled he was working. They had other waiters that would fill up your drinks and bring food which was great because they would help us out when we were waiting. Overall a good place to go. Hopefully it was just a one off situation.
We had dinner with some friends who came in from Pittsburgh. Food was fantastic but our server was the worst. He neglected us and when ordered for he was damn near belligerent. As if it was a great inconvenience for him. I won’t come back. So embarrassing for us with out of town guests
My birthday brunch!
We have dined here many times and enjoyed each experience. The staff is knowledgeable and engaging and the food and wine selection is excellent.
Some of the best food we’ve ever had. From food to service to wine and atmosphere and even management, it is all amazing. We had the octopus and lamb shank with a bottle of wine recommended by the som and it was all outstanding. I have heard amazing things about the dips and I wish we were in town long enough to go again. Worth the drive if it is far and the prices are great. Such great prices for the quality of food you get, I expected it to be much more. This will become your fave date night for sure.
Great food and service
Drink cocktails try to be too original and most are bad.
menu is very limited
We were happy to have a warm place after walking over 4 miles for lights in the Heights. Our server was very good at answering our questions. I choose two small plates rather than an appetizer. Among the 6 of us we had a good sampling of the menu. We would happily return on another occasion. Only complaint would be the noise level that was greater than we would have liked.
this place has changed since the last time we were here... it was not very busy for a thursday night..almost empty. The food was not as good as we remembered it to be. Portions of main entrees were skimpy. The wine guy a bit cocky for our taste... We love the original location in West U & this was our 3rd time at this location. Not sure what's going on but it's expensive for what you get and frankly there are too many great places to eat in the heights now.
I would not exactly call it Greek food...Greek fusion maybe. I know it is hard to compare to the traditional Greek food from Chicago....but close it is not. We had the fish. It may be Mediterranean fish and fresh, but a $52 fish with tomato sauce (not traditional Greek style) cost twice that of two of my favorite Chicago restaurants with no sides included. And no it was not a bigger fish. We were neither overly impressed with the preparation. It was tasty but not superb. Dessert was good. Our waitress was sweet and tried her best to provide a wonderful eating experience. Ok overall, but not great.
Unique place with good food, good service, reasonable prices, plenty of parking.
This is my new favorite restaurant! The spanakopita is the best I have ever tasted, and the village salad in season (summer) is amazing. I have never had a dish here that was less than perfection. The Charlie Chaplin cocktail is my favorite, and they have a huge array of wines with knowledgeable staff to help you pick what you want. Of all the many restaurants in the Heights, this is the one I return to time and again. Try it!
Great restaurant, one of our favorites!
Always great service and food.
Terrific food and many unique dishes of greek origin to enjoy. The trio of dips and chicken dishes made with decisively greek twists are excellent. The greek only wine list will be challenging to navigate on your own, but the servers are very knowledgeable and will recommend wines. The beer menu is also limited to a handful of choices, but will have something for every beer drinker. Despite serving only greek wines and with a limited beer menu, the food, sevice and atmosphere make for a very enjoyable and unique dining experience. Highly recommended.
Wonderfully prepared authentic Greek food, one of our favorite 3 restaurants in Houston.
The food is delicious! Excellent meals and well informed service. It’s a unique upscale Greek concept.
I love this restaurant! Great service and really innovative food. It’s a Houston gem.
Met some friends that had not been to either Helen's and had a good time brunching on the patio. Our waitress was Justine and she was fabulous!
We were early and the kitchen accommodated us. Thank you chef! Our friends had sticker shock with the wines and the food but we tried to over compensate for them. They but wine at Costco base prices so we paid for the bill. We loved our waitress, our food and the accommodations for our unreasonable guests. She was more than accommodating. We would definitely go back there. Food is for Greed foodies but also for really good local food!
We've been to both Helen Greek Restaurants and have really enjoyed the choices of food and drink. It's fun to share and sample food you might not order on your own. The staff is most helpful.
We took a good friend for her Birthday Dinner, and had a friendly knowledgeable server who guided us through the menu and wine list. None of us was very familiar with Greek wines, but I did recognize some famous Vineyards. The three of us each got the Greek version of a wine we liked that also paired perfectly with our meals we had chosen.
We split a Village Salad and a Greens & Cheese pie as starters between the 3 of us, and we would have been happy if we had stopped there...fresh and delicious. And our entrees were even better ! The three of us shared the Chicken (wonderful flavors and presentation, the Moussaka ( hearty and savory) and the Lamb (Fall of the bone tender and flavorful).
We had a perfect and enjoyable time, with an attentive server ready to assist and make our meal a special occasion. And we will definitely be going back, because there were so many other menu items we are dying to try. All of the rave reviews about this place, don't do it justice, Great if you like Greek food and if you want to try some modern variations as well.
We love Helen in the Heights for dinner but brunch was fantastic.
Hidden gem! The menu is not too extensive, but everything was prepared to perfection.
Ask for Alex, she waited on us for Sunday Brunch. All the staff was friendly and attentive!
Helen in the Heights never disappoints. Love trying new wines.
Better Greek food than I had in Greece. And great service.
Wine and cocktails are amazing, and then there is the food!!!
One of the best meals I’ve had in Houston!!
Loved our evening at Helen in the Heights. The food was delicious and sharing plates is a great way to try a variety of dishes. Just wish we had also ordered the gyro platter... next time!
Had tickets for a play and was looking for a special place to take my date near the theater in the Heights. Everything was perfect from the valet parking to the desert. She was a very happy lady!
