Ouvert en juillet 2011 par le chef autodidacte Mikael Jonsson, le Hedone s'est rapidement établi sur la scène culinaire de Londres et a été acclamé au niveau national, de même que par des critiques internationales. En octobre 2011, le Hedone a remporté le prix One to Watch des National Restaurant Awards et il a obtenu sa première étoile Michelin en octobre 2012. Il s'est par la suite placé en 63e place sur la liste des 50 meilleurs restaurants du monde du San Pellegrino. Le Hedone offre un décor très novateur avec une cuisine totalement ouverte qui démontre que le chef n'a « rien à cacher ».

    We had the best restaurant experience thank to outstanding tasting menu created by a genius michelinne star chef and very friendly and helpful staff.

    Loved it. Amazing food and equally good wine. One of the few occasions I have not resented a tasting menu....even a wine tasting menu!

    Appropriately spectacular for our 10th wedding anniversary. Food exceptional, the wine pairing was superb (and I'm not normally a fan of wine pairings) and service welcoming and precise. At £500 for two it's definitely a special occasion place, but you get what you pay for!

    Was recommended to Hedone by a friend, and the food definitely blew us away from the first bite, however it lost steam halfway through. Wish I was there on a higher budget (where the exchange rate isn't so brutal) so that I can take the wine pairing, but the cocktails were very well made, and the presentation of the showcase product (in our case, white truffles) was superb, albeit service being a little slow, given that only 3 people (including hostess and sommelier) were on floor with 1 behind the bar. The food was definitely a showcase of ingredients, but I wish they would use less mayo as their main sauce. Overall, a very good dining experience.

    This restaurant is a joke and definetely doesn't deserve a Michelin star . I am working in hospitality and eating at Michelin star places every week to discover new ideas . The food and service are not for a fine dining restaurant that we paid for 2 people 400£ in chiswick ! Would every recommend it .

    Fantastic food. A wonderful evening. The tasting menu with the wine pairing is equistite. Liked being able to see the kitchen staff at work.

    Took my husband here for his birthday. Definitely more of a special occasion place based on tasting menu or carte blanche options (no a la carte available). The food was excellent - We both agreed starters and mains were stronger than the desserts but we liked the fact that the menu differed slightly between tables depending on the availability of the ingredients. The standard of the service was very high - The staff were accommodating and knowledgable about the cooking processes and provenance of the ingredients. Would recommend.

    An incredibly talented kitchen letting the very best of ingredients speak for themselves in an unpretentious setting. The style of cuisine is clean, innovative and minimalist in flavour profile. Nothing fussy or overly layered. Execution is flawless and each dish is like a perfect chord made up of three or so flavours in harmony. The service was excellent being both attentive and discreet. Value wise the restaurant is very expensive and inflexible - you can't read a menu and no choices are presented. The element of surprise is fun but it's a little odd being unable to choose or customise anything whatsoever. Two dishes were extraordinary and I will remember forever: 1) a huge oyster with soy and wasabi dressing that was an umami bomb with sea spray fresness and finish that went on literally for minutes, 2) a chilled fig, white chocolate ice cream and elderflower jelly-dot dessert that left us all speechless. The flavours were ethereal in the way they combined and two of us agreed it was the best dessert we'd ever eaten. We didn't drink much wine, which by the glass was great, but by the bottle the list was ultra-premium and the middle tier of fine wines was notably sparse. If you drink big here you will spend £250 per head without even blinking. One thing that did upset was a whole, very spindly pigeon leg and claw, replete with talons, adorning the side of a sous vide pigeon, corn and morell main dish. It had almost no meat on it and was frankly an unnecessary and stomach-churning addition and really put me off the rest of the delicious plate of food. I appreciate that the sentiment is to connect the diner very directly with each ingredient, but this was just too far. Overall, an excellent dining experience but the claw garnish, ultra premium wine list and at times overly minimalist/unseasoned flavour profiles don't get a standing ovation from me. Try Hedone without hesitation, but Chiswick's other Michelin star restaurant is my preference.
