Hearsay on the Green
Friday - Saturday: 11:00am - 2:00am
Sunday: 10:00am - 11:00pm
The waiter was nice. The poblano soup and Jalepeno cocktail were my favorites!
Birthday celebration. Great food and service.
It was great. Great tasting food. Excellent atmosphere. We really enjoyed it. Defitnatly going back.
Had a great time. Cecil, our waiter was terrific.
Was not what I was expecting. The website makes it out to look like a fancy trendy place when actually this location is a hotel restaurant. Not the idea I had in mind for an anniversary dinner. Don’t get me wrong, it looks like a nice place but it was more of a bar and casual restaurant. The people in there were all in shorts and it was small. The menu looks good but once we got there we decided to go elsewhere for our anniversary. We did have a drink and ordered the cheese and meat tray which was actually really good. But not recommending for date night
This was the perfect place for a quiet birthday brunch with my closest friends! The magician was also a fun touch.
Have eaten here twice before and really enjoyed it, but very disappointed third time. Service & ambiance were awesome but food did not meet expectiations. Calamari & Shrimp was very ,very dry and tasteless. The Butcher's Steak Sandwich was cooked to perfection (medium rare) but full of grissel and very difficult to eat. Left half of it on the plate. Has the chef/management changed? I was not impressed and would not recommend/return based on the experience of Friday, June 29
The hostess was extremely rude! Threw the menus on take and walked off. I waited for waiter for 20 min while everyone stood around! No one ever greeted us to say hey cat dog how can I help u? Welcome? Nothing! Worst experience! We were in disbelief as to how a business in downtown Houston could be ran so poorly. The manager walked around eventually to greet the guest and I informed him of what happened and he politely walked off as if it was normal to treat the customers this way! Ordered a drink and app then left to have a dinner at a restaurant that appreciates it's customers!
My parents and I went for Father's Day. Our server was excellent! The weather was pretty bad so we literally had the restaurant to ourselves at first. I had the lobster and shrimp with risotto and a saffron sauce. Fabulous! I enjoyed it. I definitely plan to return!
A group of 7 were going to Eagles concert close by so we told the waiter our time frame to leave. He said he would 'make it happen' and he did with time to spare! Food was excellent and place was lively. Floor manager checked on us twice which was nice. Next event downtown I will go back!
Superior service and outstanding food. Large portions (we split 1 salad and 1 entrée and could not finish everything.
Hearsay on the Green was, as usual, very good. Consistently good food and great drinks, especially good beer selection. It was very loud as we were there before an Eagles concert at Minute Maid Park. Glad I made a reservation as it was packed!!
Went for a meal there before going to a concert at the Toyota centre, very close, it seemed everyone else was going to the concert. It was a great atmosphere, good service & delicious food. Definitely recommend.
Tuna tacos very good. Drinks interesting.
Some of the other items and service not as memorable.
Love Hearsay Gastro Pub so might give this other location another go.
I have eaten here many times before attending a concert. The food is always great and the service is top notch. I generally am very happy there. Unfortunately, this time the air conditioner didn't seem to be working quite right. It was in the mid 90's outside and it was very warm inside. Even in shorts and a light top, I was sweating throughout the meal. Many customers at the tables around us were also fanning themselves. It made the dinner a little less enjoyable. Otherwise, it was great!!!
Had a date to the Houston Ballet at the George R. Brown Center. Decided to try something new and had a great experience at this establishment. The female bartender was very polite and very attentive to our needs.
Meat for too people in the party over cooked.
Great restaurant find! Cecil our server was great and attentive. Food was great and hot when received. Great drinks. Not skimpy on the alcohol on the mixed drinks. Will be back. Appreciated the manager coming by the table to see if everything was fine.
Very noisy and a bit pricey. James was an excellent server. Familiar with the menu and very attentive.
We went to Hearsay on the Green for our anniversary. We went early at 4 pm knowing how venues fill up quickly on weekends. The service was top notch and our server was very knowledgeable. We had drinks, appetizers, entrees and they presented us with the dessert of our choice since it was our anniversary. Our appetizers were good: quail bites and lobster tempura. Just a note that the quail bites are really like wings with the bone in. Our entrees included the pork chops and the lobster/shrimp risotto. The risotto was great but the pork chops were way too salty. They’re on top of cheese grits which were also too salty but the cheese grits with the quail bites were great! The dessert we had was creme brûlée and it was fabulous! So we will definitely go back but won’t order the pork chops again.
I've been to this location several times and enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. My only complaint is that it always seems to be very hot in the restaurant. Crank up the a/c, please.
We were there to eat before a show, but were seated more than a half-hour after our reservation. Had to rush through dinner.
Great food, great drinks, friendly and complete service. Perfect location to eat before going to close by events.
After a disappointing experience the day before, we had a very enjoyable experience for lunch. Service was excellent, and we were treated very well. Our dishes were very good.
Travis was great and the music was fantastic!!
This is a great place for food/drinks before, or after events at the nearby Toyota Center, Hilton Americas Hotel, Discovery Green Park, or Convention Center. It is attached to the Embassy Suites Hotel, so it was easy to find. The only improvement to note is it was a bit too warm inside the restaurant/bar while my group was there for dinner on May 27, 2018.
Overall, I would still go back in the future, and would recommend it to others.
The food was amazing. I recommend the lobster and shrimp risotto.
We were running 10 mins late with finding parking and we were so impressed they kept our table reservation! I felt the service and food was great. Clearly busy since it’s so close to the Toyota Center, and we were there for a concert, but we didn’t have any problems.
I unfortunately did not find this restaurant particularly appealing. I was expecting a much larger place and was surprised to find it was just a hotel bar. I was looking for a bit of glitz and glam yet casual enough to accept being dressed for the base ballgame. The food was good and our waiter, Ceasar was good at his job. We did enjoy and appreciate the birthday treat from the restaurant and thank you for that. Overall, the whole experience was fine but not one I feel the need to repeat. For a less special occasion or some casual eats it would be great.
Our server was fantastic and upbeat.
The reservation specifically asked if we wanted a high top table or a regular table. We specified a regular table, but were instead were seated at a high top that was so close to other guests that we had to move out of the way every time people wanted to pass by. The restaurant's website advertised the Mother's Day brunch menu "all day", but it was not available. We also ordered desserts based on the recommendation of the waiter - a chocolate cake that was layered with white and chocolate mousse. The cake that he brought out was literally a plain chocolate cake. No mousse. Since he described it, you would assume he would notice that it isn't what he told me it was. I had to show him that it was not what he described.
I really enjoyed spending my Mother's Day at Hearsay on Discovery Green with my family the service was superb and exceeded my expectations on such a busy day. I enjoyed the food, staff and ambience so much that I can back the next day with my girlfriends to watch the Rockets game.
Made the mistake of going on Rockets game night. We had made reservations but the hostess staff was so overwhelmed that it took a over 20 minutes to be seated. They were holding an area for a party of 30 that never appeared in the time that we were there. Complete chaos.
This place is really nice. I met up some friends for an early happy hour. The drinks were tasty. The server gave some good suggestions. The chicken pesto pasta was really tasty and the steak special was good. Will definitely come back again
Food was very good and Cecil's service was great. Took a group for a thank you lunch and they were able to accommodate our needs.
Went for brunch before the Astros game. It was perfect. We were seated immediately, the staff was very friendly. Food and drinks were excellent! I would highly recommend, and we will return.
Service was inattentive, the food looked good but wasn't all that. I feel like when I went a year or two ago it was much better
Service here is excellent. Our server was friendly, efficient & knowledgeable. Our water glasses were kept full. The atmosphere was upscale casual/trendy. The food selection was a bit limited but adequate and our seafood dish could have been seasoned a bit more - lacked that little “kick” you expect with a crawfish-shrimp stuffing, but it certainly was good and well cooked. Altogether, an enjoyable experience that we would recommend & repeat.
We loved the unique twists on regular foods. And the drinks were fantastic!
