Hearsay on the Green
Friday - Saturday: 11:00am - 2:00am
Sunday: 10:00am - 11:00pm
We were going to this restaurant before a Game of Thrones concert at the Toyota Center. Despite ordering around 7 PM, we did not get our food before 7:40 and had to leave so we could get to the concert on time (and get concession food since we did not have time to enjoy our meal at the restaurant). Our orders were a hot dog and a prime rib sandwich too so they weren’t super complex either. The kitchen appeared to be having a bad night as we weren’t the only ones to leave before our food arrived. We’d eaten here last year as one of our first dates and had held that as a special memory, but based on this experience, it’s unlikely that we will be coming back.
A pleasant surprise. We needed dinner at 10:00 pm on a Sunday downtown. Hearsay fit the bill, and both the food and the service were better than I would have expected. My pork chop was tender and moist. The ahi tuna portion was generous, as was the size of the fish tacos.
It was warm in the restaurant.
The food was mediocre, the drinks were OK, the only redeeming factor was the staff was very attentive to my food allergies. Not a lot of restaurants take note of that or pay attention to it. They were amazing when it came to that, I just wish the food had tasted as great as that service wise.
Fantastic dinner before a concert at the Toyota Center. Great location to easily park and walk from there to the concert. The food was amazing and the wine / cocktail list was good. Overall a little noisy because of the pre-concert crowd and it's definitely a good idea to have a reservation. We did and were seated immediately. Restaurant is beautiful and the service was great too even with the capacity crowd.
Wonderful wait staff and bartenders. Very attentive and friendly service.
We had a great experience, food, service and ambiance was amazing
Great food. Good atmosphere. Felt a little rushed by the staff to give up the table after dinner. They didn't say anything but it was in the body language.
Lamb shank and 8oz fillet were great . Mashed potatoes were off the chain.
Would go again despite body language of the staff.
Great food and awesome ambiance. Customer Service was great and food order was accurate and correct temperature. Nice vibe for evening outing. Must try again.
We had a blast
Very romantic and the food was great !!
Nice place for a lunch with friends.
Went to Hearsay On the Green on a Sunday, after our original reservation at another downtown Hearsay Restaurant was closed due to A.C. issues. We were happy they could accommodate us. The restaurant was nice, not very busy. Our food..steaks, pork chops and seafood was all good.
This is a popular Houston restaurant..give it a try.
We visited for Houston Restaurant Week. It was our first time there, and both the food and the service was excellent from start to finish!
Went for my birthday dinner and everything was perfect! The staff was exceptional, the food and drinks were great and the ambiance was beautiful.
Food was delicious but service was wanting. They took 15 minutes to tell us the prosecco we ordered was not available. Kind of a pet peeve of mine but when restaurants don’t have a menu item I think they should offer a substitute AT THE SAME PRICE as the one that was originally ordered.
The waiter didn't seem like he wanted to be there... They were out of 2 of the 4 Restaurant menu items and once we were finished it took forever to get our check (my daughter commented that it's like we were in France).
The food was superb, the martinis first rate and the service was excellent. This restaurant has it all.
Great service and food. Had made reservation and the hostess wanted to give us a table we didn’t like so after so grumbling they changed it for us. Overall good experience very consistent
I was terribly dissappointed in this Sunday, brunch experience. While having been to the Market Square location, I thought it was time to give this one a try. First, while it may be ‘near’ Discovery Green it isn’t “on” it. In fact, you actually look out onto hideous power station across the street from the front door.
As for the service, really lacking. We arrived and waited several minutes after being seated to even be acknowledged. It turns out our server was supposed to be the bartender, though she did not know she was supposed to taking care of us. The hostess helped out by putting in our order of (bland, disappointing, dry) Deviled Eggs.
Finally, when the bartender did take our order, she stayed behind the bar, even though we were at a table and not at bar. Awkward.
The food was just as disappointing as the experience. Deviled Eggs, see above, eggs Benedict, cold and uninspiring. The potatoes on the side, exactly the same.
I was recently bragging that Houston hotels are scoring some great restaurants that are much more than hotel cafes. This was on par with a not very good, hotel cafe. Houston has too many choices to be disappointed like this. Probably won’t go back.
I ordered the Short Ribs Benedict. Looks delicious but lacked in flavor and definitely needed some salt! For $20 I was highly disappointed in the dish. I ordered for my kids the Lemon Ricotta pancakes. Nothing special. I could've ordered something like this at Ihop or Waffle House for half the price. All in all I was not satisfied with the food. On a positive note the ambience and decor was very nice!
Went there for my birthday brunch. Enjoyed the set-up, however it was very hot inside. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was seasoned very well, but fried too hard. The waffle was too thick and just mediocre. One friend received grits and shrimp, it came out cold, as well as the steak and potatoes. The drinks are good. The server was informative and good. Thanks
Under staffed, waiting times way too long. We were within seconds of walking out when a waiter finally showed up to take drink order. Watched our drinks sit on the bar for over 5 minutes before someone finally picked them up to deliver them to us. Food was substandard (below McDonalds quality). Red wine was expensive and way too warm.
The wait staff was very friendly, the food was great and the atmosphere was fun! Would definitely go back!!
The starters at hearsay are class. Loved my entrée the lobster risotto. Our friends loved their entrées. This place is always gem
This place is AMAZING! Superior service, delicious cuisine and super tasty drinks, cool ambiance perfect for date night or for a friends get-together. Highly recommend and can't wait to dine here again!!!
We had a great dinner with our kids while having a weekend getaway at the Marriott Marquis. It’s an easy walking distance and SO worth it. Our waiter was amazing and even walked a coworker to her car. A tea gentleman and person any company would be proud to employ. Food was AMAZING as always! Just wish we had one in The Woodlands!
The waiter was nice. The poblano soup and Jalepeno cocktail were my favorites!
What can I say? We ate here 3 nights in 6 nights on a recent trip to Houston and each meal was delicious, well prepared and delivered in a timely manner. I especially liked the sauteed spinach and the and the lobster tempura appetizers was a-mazing!!!
Birthday celebration. Great food and service.
It was great. Great tasting food. Excellent atmosphere. We really enjoyed it. Defitnatly going back.
Was not what I was expecting. The website makes it out to look like a fancy trendy place when actually this location is a hotel restaurant. Not the idea I had in mind for an anniversary dinner. Don’t get me wrong, it looks like a nice place but it was more of a bar and casual restaurant. The people in there were all in shorts and it was small. The menu looks good but once we got there we decided to go elsewhere for our anniversary. We did have a drink and ordered the cheese and meat tray which was actually really good. But not recommending for date night
Had a great time. Cecil, our waiter was terrific.
This was the perfect place for a quiet birthday brunch with my closest friends! The magician was also a fun touch.
Have eaten here twice before and really enjoyed it, but very disappointed third time. Service & ambiance were awesome but food did not meet expectiations. Calamari & Shrimp was very ,very dry and tasteless. The Butcher's Steak Sandwich was cooked to perfection (medium rare) but full of grissel and very difficult to eat. Left half of it on the plate. Has the chef/management changed? I was not impressed and would not recommend/return based on the experience of Friday, June 29
The hostess was extremely rude! Threw the menus on take and walked off. I waited for waiter for 20 min while everyone stood around! No one ever greeted us to say hey cat dog how can I help u? Welcome? Nothing! Worst experience! We were in disbelief as to how a business in downtown Houston could be ran so poorly. The manager walked around eventually to greet the guest and I informed him of what happened and he politely walked off as if it was normal to treat the customers this way! Ordered a drink and app then left to have a dinner at a restaurant that appreciates it's customers!
My parents and I went for Father's Day. Our server was excellent! The weather was pretty bad so we literally had the restaurant to ourselves at first. I had the lobster and shrimp with risotto and a saffron sauce. Fabulous! I enjoyed it. I definitely plan to return!
A group of 7 were going to Eagles concert close by so we told the waiter our time frame to leave. He said he would 'make it happen' and he did with time to spare! Food was excellent and place was lively. Floor manager checked on us twice which was nice. Next event downtown I will go back!
Superior service and outstanding food. Large portions (we split 1 salad and 1 entrée and could not finish everything.
Hearsay on the Green was, as usual, very good. Consistently good food and great drinks, especially good beer selection. It was very loud as we were there before an Eagles concert at Minute Maid Park. Glad I made a reservation as it was packed!!
Went for a meal there before going to a concert at the Toyota centre, very close, it seemed everyone else was going to the concert. It was a great atmosphere, good service & delicious food. Definitely recommend.
