The food was not good. Service was great and ambience was ok.
The food was great! If you like bread- I would suggest the bread basket. Great atmosphere.
The food was very disappointing. “Jumbo” scallops were tiny and served over a pile of canned corn. The redfish was overcooked and under seasoned. The filet tasted like a cheap cut of meat and the shrimp and grits were just okay at best. We had high expectations for this restaurant and left feeling completely unsatisfied.
Great happy hour prices w/nice selection of appetizers. Food was delish!
We were seated immediately and our server was very attentive. Our food was good but some of the food arrived a bit cold but our server warmed it for us. Thank you! It was delicious!
We went there for Sunday brunch before the Astros game. We were sat upstairs, and I think that may have been the problem. Our waitress worked her butt off, but having to run up and down the stairs, or wait for a runner to bring her the food to serve, two things happened. Drinks took a bit of time, and when we got the food, it was not real hot.
This is in no way indicative of her, she really worked hard, as we could watch her from where we were sitting.
I think if they would have given her a runner, or at least some one to come and fill waters, things would have been much better.
All that being said, the food was tasty, and the drinks were good.............and yes, I would recommend it
My experience this time was not good. It appears to be new management. Bring back Vince!
Excellent as usual. Love the ambience and food.
We had a great time yesterday for my wife’s birthday. The manager accommodated us when we increased our party size at the last minute. Everyone had such a great time. And our guests were all asking me how I found that spot(but I wouldn’t tell them). We will definitely be going back once my wife drops the baby.
Very mediocre. If you’re looking for a casual place to eat in Houston with a better atmosphere, better food and better cocktails, keep looking.
Flavorless except the corn was excellent but you really don’t order dinner fir the vegetable. Ahi tacos were uninteresting at best shell was way over cooked, filling was absolutely flat flavorless. Scallops were ok nothing to brag about again the corn was the star different than the 1st but again do you order go out to dinner for corn🙄
Customer service was great!!! Staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the items on the menu.
Great Cocktails, Fresh and perfectly seasoned food, and the service was out of this world! Can’t wait to come back!
From the moment we entered (the greeting was customized for the occasion - it was my wife’s birthday and she got wished a happy birthday before they sat us) to the food (the lady who attended to us was ALSO “very personable” and aware it was my wife’s birthday. The lady provided some good recommendations as far as drinks and food), the experience was simply memorable! My wife and I had a lovely / spectacular time! Food was delicious (I had the house salad with goat cheese and grilled salmon. Wife had the chicken fried steak dish)
Will definitely dine there again!
We met fir going away drinks/ dinner for a coworker leaving. Great service good selection awesome food. Always a repeatable place
We really enjoyed the experience and the food was good. We will go back!
The hostess and waitress made the night so pleasant. Everything was perfect. Food was great!
This was the most disappointed in a meal I have been in a long time. I felt like I was cat-fished. I looked this place up and saw amazing pictures and a menu that took normal meals and put a playful and exciting spin on them. Normally for an anniversary I would have picked a 4 or 5 star place and wined and dined my wife, but she said she thought it would be fun to try this place for the first time. Also, when they ask you for an occasion at other places, they normally do something to honor that. I selected and told the staff it was our anniversary and nothing was done. The wait staff was very nice to us and served us very well. The food is where I had a problem. My wife and I ordered 3 appetizers to try them (that’s how good the menu looked). All 3 were bad. We ordered our meals, I got the filet and my wife got fish. The filet was about a 1/2 in. tall and looked like a sirloin and was as tender as an over cooked sirloin. The sides at Luby’s are better than the sides at this place. Finally the dessert was the worst. They ruined one of my favorite things on this Earth, Bananas Foster. They had a fun take on it as an upside down cake, so I ordered it. What came out was a dry yellow cake with a scoop of hot smooshed bananas on top. My wife and I left without finishing any of the things we started eating and will not be returning. I am sad to say this is one of the worst dining experiences we have had EVER for an anniversary.
We celebrated with an early Father’s Day dinner and how fitting for it to be done on Gentlemen’s Thursday ☺️ Both my husband and my father thoroughly enjoyed their meals! I am sure my father will be a regular after finding this over every Thursday and he’s a fillet man plus the happy hour glass of Chardonnay. He’ll be VIP 🤣 He complimented the meal all the way through and sent his compliments to the chef!
Tables were pretty close together; we could hear other conversations. Very attentive staff and manager. Food was great.
Great atmosphere, great food. Friendly staff, hostess was polite, and nice. Would recommend for a nice night out in Downtown.
Friendly staff all around! Amazing brunch! Food is amazing and so are the drinks. Hope the live music will return soon!
Loved the ambiance.. Sara our waitress was awesome.. We sat well beyond our allotted 1.5 hours with no issues. Will definitely be back..
I like the ambiance and the staff was friendly too.
Steak night thursday was excellent and a fantastic deal. Also great selection of bourbon and gin
The place is cute enough but it’s so open and tables are VERY close together. You’ll definitely be getting to know the people sitting next to you. We picked this place because it was on some best restaurants in Houston lists and I’m not really sure why it’s included. Food was mediocre at best. We were very hungry and plates are small so we ordered a lot. Two appetizers were the bread basket (all very dry) and the spinach dip which was fine but the things it came with were stale/bad. Entrees were filet with corn and fries and a salmon Caesar salad. The corn came with Mayo from a squeeze bottle squirted in a ring on top. Bizarre. Fries were straight up terrible. Shoestring and tasted like nothing. The proteins we ordered were well cooked but also totally average and the bill was over $75 for all that. Won’t be returning.
The cheesesteak egg rolls were phenomenal. The drinks were amazing.
Our server, Cetera, was excellent. The only really odd thing was there’s no coffee on the menu... we had time for a cup with dessert before the symphony but were told “we get our coffee from next door and they already closed”.... hmmmm.... never had that happen before. Otherwise a good experience.
Great waitress. Ribeye wasn’t fantastic. But, the sides and appetizers were great, the ambience is nice and it is the perfect place for dinner before a concert or a play.
I’ve been to Hearsay multiple times..and plan on going back. However, this time there were a couple issues that normally don’t happen there. One thing is that we waited quite a long with empty glasses before we received new drinks. And second, I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was quite cold. I had to dip each bite into the gravy (I ordered on the side) and mashed potatoes to give it some warmth.
Definitely not as good as it used to be before pandemic. The food quality and wait staff are not as nice or professional as previous trips.
Food server venue were all wonderful and well worth the price. Only complaint was it was really cold but I warmed up after two delicious margaritas 😊
The food was good and the service was great! Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable and was able to recommend some good choices. We had a reservation and were seated right away and the food was served in a timely manner. I had the Chicken Melanesse and the Steak Eggrolls, both were delicious! Will definitely visit again!😊
Great spot. Lowkey. Nice drinks and good food. Recommend
Lovely brunch! It’s a little loud given the acoustics of the restaurant, but that’s what makes it so charming- the high ceiling, brickwork, chandelier, everything. The cheesesteak egg rolls were scrumptious. We had mimosas (with moth orange juice and grapefruit juice). As main courses, the chicken (expertly seasoned) and waffles were hearty (almost a whole chicken with the waffle). The crab cake Benedict was extremely tasty. Highly recommend.
Great times and great brunch item
The atmosphere had a nice vibe to it, but the service was terrible. It took 30 minutes to get served drinks. I had to call our waiter over multiple times so we could order. The food was very low quality. I got a filet mignon and it was probably the worst steak I have ever had. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone because of poor service and the low quality of food.
This place is perfect for a first date or celebrating a birthday and anything in between. The ambience is great. I had the waygu cheeseburger myself and it was amazing. The service was great. Our food came out fairly quick. I will definitely be coming back.
Food was good as always but it seemed like the weighted forgot about us a few times.
