Great ambiance and food. Service was great. Love the live band and small patio and 4 dollar mimosas!
We ran into someone from the kitchen that had just ended their shift. When I suggested I was looking forward to crab cakes and fries they informed me the fryer was broken and that their would be no fries. I was led to believe crab cakes were still an option. Apparently not. We asked our server to request the kitchen bake them and the kitchen said "no." I settled on the Stuffed Chicken with Braised Kale and Mac-n-Cheese as sides. The sides were amazing, but the chicken was dry. My husband chose a fish dish with broccolini and was pleased. We were sat upstairs at a two-top next to the bar. Immediately next to the table was a serving tray on it's stand holding someone's tablet and other various items. It brought the atmosphere down a notch.
Always on point..food was amazing, atmosphere was good
Valentine’s Dinner - food and atmosphere both fantastic
Hearsay was amazing as always and perfect for Valentine's day lunch.
We weren't happy with the service. We waited for quite some time to get drinks, had to flag waiting staff to ask to order after nearly half an hour. The food arrived after nearly an hour and it was good if a little cold however we did not advise the staff of this so that was on our heads that we didn't get it rectified. We were there for a 30th birthday, we left the cake and sparklers in and asked whether we could get it brought out after our meal. The waitress came out with the cake, no sparklers lit. No pre warning to start us singing and the waiting staff weren't singing either. Then set it infront of the birthday boy and tried to light the sparklers which took forever and it just got quite awkward. There was just a bit of a lack of attention to detail and acknowledgement that it was a special day for us.
Nice vibe, good ambiance and setting.
Food is good but limited brunch menu but overall decent offerings.
The food and service were great. The noise level made holding conversations difficult.
Food and drinks were delicious. Alcohol service to our table was extremely slow.
Didn’t have our reservation at first. I showed them my email, they found reservation and had given our table to someone else, but seated us right away. Very nice about it.
Food was good and so were drinks. Fairly priced.
I can't even begin to explain what a disappointment our experience was.
Great service - and the deviled eggs and lamb chops - outstanding!!!
Great place for brunch downtown. Nice band added to the atmosphere.
This location is very fun! We spent a good portion of our meal admiring the building and reading about the history. The food was good - the chicken fried steak was the best my husband has had. My chicken and waffles were good - waffles were just ok but the chicken was delicious. Drinks were excellent. Service was really rough - waitress kept disappearing and there were mistakes on food. Will try again as it was a pretty fun experience even with the lackluster service.
Took 15 minutes to seat us despite reservations. It took 25 minutes after seating to get a drink.
Waiter was ver knowledgeable and friendly
Food was perfect
Great food and usually good service. This trip was the exception. Very possibly the WORST waitress I've ever had.
The only issue that we had was that the food came out of the kitchen very slow. The wait staff dress code was very loose. Some dressed nice, others were in ripped jeans. Decor and ambiance was very nice and unique feel. Food tasted great but we could tell that the shrimp were frozen. Best short rib ever with mushroom risotto and broccolini. Cases on canned goods laying on chairs near restroom. Had the potential to be upscale but definitely was not. Very cool place though. Will return.
Good brunch spot. Great bar and menu.
I love Hearsay! It is a wonderful restaurant. The food was delicious per usual:). The overall experience is always great!
Before show at Hobby Centet. It is about 1/2 mile walk, but great food/ experience.
They got rid of bottomless mimosas. Literally the only reason we were going there in the first place.
Great craft cocktails and unique food options. The upstairs area is perfect for a large group to get together.
Hearsay is somewhere I always ALWAYS take my out-of-town guests. Their food is PERFECT and definitely worth the price. Also, the Smoot is my fav. Only complaint was waitress did not seem like she wanted to be there at all. I usually have good service, but she was a little irritated and rushed, it seemed. Didn’t put a damper on the mood though because the food is THAT good. I will absolutely be back.
It's a neat spot. I was disappointed that the salads we ordered were drenched with dressing. I had requested the dressing on the side, but the server forgot. I'm not great at complaining, so I didn't send it back. The cheese and charcuterie board was great and drinks were very good too (albeit expensive).
The ambiance and food are very good. The service was poor. The server was inattentive and had to be chased to place orders or get additional items. The food was not prepared as ordered and had to be sent back. The manager assured us of “expedited” service - but we waited an additional 20 minutes for the order to be returned. It still wasn’t correct but as the other guests had finished their meal by this time, we ate our food. When we spend $100/dinner for two we expect top notch service in addition to the top notch food. We will return as we enjoyed the company and the atmosphere but hope that the service will improve.
Fantastic food and drinks as always. Perfect place for date night.
I love this restaurant. Near my job and always friendly, good food and great ambience.
It's a small place so if you are seated close to the band during brunch, it is pretty loud. Food was good, service was good. Good bloody Mary.
Everything was very nice. Erica , our bartender took great care of us. I highly recommend her. She is not only a great customer oriented person , but she is a very knowable bartender
everything was great! convenient location to theater district.
We were scheduled for a concert and invited two friends to meet us at Hearsay because our first choice, the Lancaster, was booked. I am so glad we tried Hearsay because we had a great time, fine food, and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. It will be our new downtown favorite.
Fantastic food for a reasonable price! Their mashed potatoes are especially good!
First, but not last time here. Table was ready for us and service was superb. Food and drinks exceeded our expectations. This historic location is a great stop-off for anyone downtown.
Excellent quality of food, ambiance, & service! Upscale casual. Perfect for any occasion.
Six of us went for lunch and had a great, relaxing, fun time with friends. I would definitely go again
Great food, great place to eat. Very dark, too dark for a nice dinner in our opinion.
Really good food, excellent attentive service and fantastic ambience. We had a table for 6 upstairs before a show and two wait staff who were friendly and superb. Food was great, drinks good and loved the place with the history behind it.
This is my third time at Hearsay and every time it has been as expected. High customer service and quality food and drinks
Trendy restaurant with great decor in a historic building, very convenient to the theater.
