   It’s my wife’s birthday and she picked Haywire. First time there and we were looking forward to it. Beautiful restaurant, great setting. Service was excellent. Unfortunately the food left a little to be desired. The Queso and chips with Picadillo appetizer was outstanding. The drinks, a frozen margarita and frozen Texas Tea were delicious. We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with jalapeño sausage gravy with green beans and mashed potatoes and Baby Back Ribs with Mac and cheese and buttered cornbread. The chicken fried steak was incredibly dense and overcooked with the breading tasting like raw flour and thick and unpleasant. I ate less than half. The green beans were super undercooked, I only ate a couple of bites. The whipped potatoes were delicious though. The Baby Back Ribs were decidedly overcooked and VERY dry and the Mac and Cheese bland. The Cornbread was out of this world good though! A manager came by our table without prompting to ask how our meal was and we explained our experience. He was very gracious and helped us out with the bill. We will go back, there were some pleasant aspects and we want to give them another chance.

   Beautiful restaurant, got a nice table in the corner. Good friendly service and the food was good and delicious.

   I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when we made reservations at Haywire, but I definitely didn’t anticipate a restaurant that felt more like a hybrid between a sports bar and a traditional dining spot. The first thing you notice when walking in is the massive central bar—it dominates the space and sets a very casual, bustling tone. We were seated at a mid-top table (something in between a high-top and standard table) as far from the kitchen as possible, and unfortunately, there weren’t any cozy or intimate seating options that felt right for a date night. The layout didn’t lend itself to a relaxed or personal dining experience. Service was lacking—our server seemed overwhelmed or stretched too thin, as we hardly saw him throughout the evening. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The standout dish—and honestly the only memorable part of the night—was the venison chili and cornbread appetizer. That dish was genuinely fantastic. Unfortunately, after waiting nearly a week to get a reservation, this visit ended up being a one-and-done for my wife and me. Haywire just didn’t live up to the hype or the effort it took to get in.

   Was a wonderful dining experience. Nice venue. A little loud at times but manageable. Server was a little slow and forgot on a couple of drinks, but she was extremely busy. Again, great food, great price. Highly recommend.

   We went for brunch and really liked the atmosphere. Our server was nice and attentive. Excellent adult beverages. I had a Bloody Mary and my husband had the signature Old Fashioned. We started with the house salad and some tallow fries both of which were super tasty. The house salad is quite large and would do nicely as a lunch with some grilled chicken added. I had the redfish with lemon zydeco sauce which was phenomenal. My husband had the chicken and waffles with 2 over easy eggs. Unfortunately, the eggs yolks were completely overcooked (solid yolks) and the chicken tenders were very dry. The waffle immediately soaked up the syrup which was very little to begin with. The prices were quite reasonable, with 2 cocktails, fries, salad, and 2 entrees we were under $100 before tip. We will definitely eat there again.
