Onion rings 10/10 crunchy mild, sweet onion with a chipotle mayo and spicy ketchup to dip into. Garlic stuffed filet cooked to perfection! Brussels had good flavor yet my friends was way too saucy compared to mine. Pork chop was wonderful. Chicken fried steak, all breading no steak on both that we ordered. Too loud couldn’t even hold a conversation at our own table. Drinks were ok… we are in TX marg better be good, and it was meh.

Searched for a nice spot to have anniversary dinner with my hubby and decided to make reservations at Haywire. After parking in the Domain's Red Garage we walked a couple of blocks to the restaurant, scoping out other shopping and dinning spots along the way. It was a nice, short walk. We checked in and waited about 5 minutes before being seated. We got a nice cozy booth on the veranda which had better lighting and less noise than the main dinning area. We just missed happy hour which ended at 6 pm. We ordered cocktails, fried green tomatoes and corn bread for starters. What a great beginning! The green tomatoes were firm with a crispy crust and tasty sauce. Corn bread was slightly sweet and decadent, almost dessert like. Drinks were on point! For our mains we had the steak salad and chicken fried steak plate. My husband said the crust on the steak was perfectly crisp and tasted like his favorite fried chicken. My salad was nicely dressed and the steak was cooked to order. We finished with a bread pudding topped with whiskey sauce and a scoop of ice cream. Heavenly! From start to finish the service was friendly and efficient without feeling rushed. It was nice to take our time and savor our meal and enjoy the experience. We could have chosen an ultra posh spot for our special day but I'm glad we chose Haywire because it was perfect. Top notch food, classy comfortable environment with fabulous service. We couldn't have asked for more!

The food my wife and I had was Excellent! We had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. Very good! I also had the House Salad which also was excellent. It's only minor drawback was I needed to have some additional dressing added to it. For the Main course my wife had the Redfish and I had the Chicken Fried Steak. Both were absolutely delicious! The Redfish with the crab and shrimp along with the sauce was very,very tasty. The Chicken Fried Steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork. .

Service and decor were great! My redfish was delicious but husbands sea bass not anything special. All pricey. Only real issue was not being able to hear across the little table…having to YELL for any conversation with our company. In their 30’s and even they thought it was entirely too loud. It wasnt the music ( you could barely hear music), it was the voices bouncing off the concrete ceiling and walls. They neeeed to add sound barriers between the ceiling rafters…add some heavy drapes , etc. Only reason we would not return:( and this was a $300 tab on a MONDAY night. Sadly, NO conversation to be had. Every table was yelling louder than the next to be heard:(

Overall the food was good, it was super cute and our server was very nice. I was just a bit disappointed that our special occasion was not acknowledged at all despite it being listed on our reservation. Other than that everything else was good.

Really good food! From the appetizer to the main and of course the dessert everything was absolutely good! It’s a little bit loud and sides are kind of small but we would be back again and again because of the food!! The place is really cool too!! Haywire is now in my top 10 restaurants in Austin!
