   Went above and beyond to make a Birthday meal special - giving us a great corner table and fantastic service. Beef roast was perfect as was the Pavlova - drinks always great. Hawksmoor is incredibly consistent and are one of the few places who help you celebrate special occasions without fail.

   The oysters were superb, sirloin had too much gristle but the bone marow sauce was delicious. Disappointed to be charged £5 for two glasses of water that were clearly not bottled, so at least the waiter took that off the bill but the fact it was on there irritated me. The pudding was a delight especially as it was our special occasion having got married.

   Great server, but unfortunately he left to go on a break, we were not advised and were left wondering who would be taking care of us. Our wine was out of reach and we had to wait a long time before our glasses were topped up, even to the point we had to catch a member of staffs attention to ask them. The food was amazing as always and despite the blip in the service we still enjoyed our afternoon.

   We enjoyed a delicious steak and chips with a good bottle of red, service was excellent and there was a nice vibe but at nearly £200 for two people it felt rather expensive, especially as didn’t have starters or a pudding.

    Taste and texture of the steak fell below what one expects from a restaurant that specialises in steak. Monk fish was hugely over priced ... around one-third was bone ... and flavour uninspiring. At a specialist restaurant I expect a better experience than the one I can create in my own kitchen. Not the case last night. The server was delightful.

    Great food and service. My pregnant wife asked for her steak well done and it came medium but the waiter was apologetic and ordered a new one without any issue. Very enjoyable dining experience.

    Prices are too high. Waiting staff too sales-driven, it was not relaxing to be constantly asked if we wanted 'more' of everything - too obvious and unsubtle. Far fewer lettuce leaves and less parmesan cheese on the 'Hawksmoor Caesar' than when I've been before on multiple occasions - shame the Caesar salad used to be the best thing on the menu.

    The meat eaters were extremely happy. I was hoping for fish. Sadly, there was neither fish nor chicken available despite both being on the menu. However, I chose two fishy starters and was happy with those. The deserts were delicious.

    The steak was great, but the side portions were tiny for the price. Steak does not come with sides, any salad or garnish on plate. At £40 a pop, it was a piece of meat on a bare plate. Total bill for 2 steaks, a tiny portion of fries, tiny bowl of mash, bottle of water to share was £111. Restaurant looked worn, unlike seven dials branch which was nicer. Didn’t feel like a special occasion and especially for the price, felt severely overpriced. No bread was brought to our table while we waited for meals. Disappointing.

    Food and service was great. Disappointed with small size of soft drink provided (200ml) considering high cost of £4 for not even the size of a can (330ml) . Also disappointed with forced charitable donation added to bill without asking or confirming.

    The Sunday roasts are lovely, very generous portions. You MUST get the stuffing as a side, absolutely delicious. I can also recommend the sticky toffee pudding!

    Outstanding food and service. Every element of what we ate was delicious. The main event, the steak, was cooked perfectly, tender and flavoursome to the last bite. Just lovely eaten with a plain green salad. My scallops to start were so tasty and served beautifully. Some of the best I have ever eaten. Finished off with coffee and 3 salted caramel rolos. Between 2 of us, but managed to cut the last one in half as neither of us were going to be kind enough to allow the other one to have two.

    We have eaten at a number of Hawksmoor restaurants and this is the first time that I have been disappointed with the food. The service was attentive, as always, and we had a nice meal, but just not the usual very high standard that I have come to expect.

    i'm usually a great hawksmoor fan and food was excellent as usual but service was too slow on this occasion: took close to 85 minutes from arrival for main course to arrive: too long for a lunch booking and meant no time for dessert or coffee

    dinned with friend utilising their corkage offer of £25. Sommelier was very helpful and prepared the wine as if we bought it there. bone marrow with onion starter was delicious followed by a perfectly cooked Porterhouse steak and a chocolate desert which I found a bit too rich and almost stodgy. overall the food was great but the meal ended up costing over £300 which felt a bit steep…

    This was a pricey lunch but so delicious. It's also a very comfortable place, where I noticed other diners lingering far after their meal ended to sit and chat. Their drinks list is extensive, their steak choices are robust, and their sauces are delicious.

    I love the Hawksmoor. It’s not the cheapest, it has to be said. A couple of things - seafood - were off the menu (perhaps due to it being a Monday) But the staff and lunch were super. It was a birthday for my boyfriend. They made a lovely fuss without it being too much. The steak was yummy. So we’re the sauces and the spinach. Excellent starters too. Recommend scallops. I have been to Covent Garden before, but this was a first at Borough. It’s a cooler vibe. Covent Garden is maybe a bit more swish
