   Our reservation was not honored because they had a staffing issue and did not manage their reservations.

   Detroit Harbor House MI 48226Responded 2 days agoHi Tiffany, Sorry your reservation could not be honored on time. On 3/18 downtown was in complete gridlock. Several key employees and MOST reservations were late do to traffic and parking issues. For an hour everything shifted back and we did fall behind. This is first time we had to hold reservations back. Not the norm and sorry. Most reservations who arrived on time, were sat timely but yes some did wait and I apologize.

   Our reservation was not honored. Nobody's reservation was honored. We Had to wait 45 minutes. Couldn't enjoy our meal as we were rushed to get out in time for a show.

   Our party had a marvelous evening. Our party of six was able to talk easily and hear each other, which is important to me!! The food was wonderful, although one member of the party was disappointed with the perch dinner. They do not serve dessert and coffee, which I thought was unusual, however our wonderful waitress suggested that we take the short walk to a local bakery for coffee and dessert, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. Great choice for dinner partnered with theatre or game, just expect a short walk and plan ahead for parking!

   Food was great! Service was just a little slow but we weren’t in a hurry so that was fine! Ribs and crab legs weren’t quite as good as the first time I was there. But still good enough to come back.. definitely!

    Overall a good experience. The restaurant was super busy. Due to that our server wasn't really able to provide outstanding service. She really was just overwhelmed.

    It never fails the food the drinks the service always 5 stars love going there everytime. Our waitress Meadow was amazing fast and professional.

    The Harbor house was suggested to us. It may seem pricey when you first look at the menu but the amount of food was well worth it. Thank you for a great meal and service.

    2nd time dining at Harbor House. Food is excellent. Gumbo is incredibly good! Service was wonderful - Mackenzie was attentive. Did have an issue with one drink coming to the table but everything else was great. We all had different dishes and each one was delicious. Crab-stuff Salmon was a big hit!

    We came for brunch before the Lions game. It was a good choice some at breakfast others chose lunch. The onion rings were maybe the best we’ve ever had so light.

    We went to Harbor House on New Years Eve while in town from Chicago for the Bears / Lions Game. Food was good. Service was wonderful. The waitress was on top of her game No waiting even got there a 1/2 hour before our reservation and we were seated right away.

    We went there on NYE before seeing a show at the Fisher Theatre. The service was great and we had a really nice time. We will definitely be going back.

    We did not have high expectations after seeing the dirty entranceway on arrival as the very first customers of the evening (see photo of entrance). The restroom had not been cleaned either (see photo…this was right after opening). Our server Veronica was friendly but the foot was quite delayed apparently due to a kitchen appliance issue. They were apologetic. The food was tasty.

    Very cute and cozy. We were in a corner nook by a very pretty Christmas tree. Was great for pictures. Food was good. I felt bad for the waitress though, she seemed very over whelmed. This was after a big rush from the football game.

    The positives: Very nice server. The bar section is lovely. The food looks delicious. Everything was very hot. The negatives:the steak tips were mostly gristle and fat. The lobster mac and cheese was bland and fishy tasting. No lobster of substance, just tiny pieces that lose any flavor when cooked into the mac and cheese. Chicken Alfredo was creamy but the chicken was way over cooked, tough and dry.
