The food and service was great.
Excellent food service in a bustling environment
Our second trip within 4 months
Service and food was awesome. Very crowded and a couple large groups which made it a bit loud.
Hank's used to be one of my seafood favorites. It has gone downhill. Fish was not carefully prepared. some dishes were overcooked with bland glutinous sauce. Sauteed scallops were tasteless, served with spinach that had not been properly drained, so scallops sat in water. Desserts were mediocre. A sad decline.
Food is always delicious...wait staff is excellent!
Kaylee was our server and was knowledgeable and experienced. Great night out for dinner and cocktails.
Hank's Seafood is a Charleston favorite for anyone who loves seafood. I had a couple who were in Charleston and had not dined at some of the great restaurants so I took them to my favorite. It being restaurant week we each had the three course special and all three dinners were terrific. The service was excellent and we had a wonderful bottle of wine that - as expected - was reasonably priced. Definitely recommend Hank's to everyone.
Went during Restaurant Week - very good menu selection for a special 3-course meal.
The reason this restaurant has been voted best seafood restaurant in Charleston for the past 18 years in a row is because it deserves it. A absolute must try when in town.
Lovely evening celebrating an anniversary. Food was excellent, our server was extremely helpful when we found ourselves stuck between two entrees.
Hanks is a nice little place near the market, we enjoyed our meal but were disappointed that the food was not he special. Going in for Charleston Restaurant week we will squally receive a new item or special but between the shrimp and grits and buttermilk chicken nothing was more than mediocre.
The service was great and we did not have any issues but just hoped for more from this prominent venue.
You never can go wrong with Hank’s. Food, service always top notch. One of my favorite spots in Charleston.
We always have a great time at Hank’s
Hank’s is consistently fantastic. We visit Charleston just to eat here.
Other than the noise level and closely placed tables, our experience was good. The food and the service by Jameson was excellent!
Hanks never disappoints! Great choice again for restaurant week. Our first time guest really enjoyed themselves.
Great food and service. Overall, a fantastic experience!!
The server was annoyed that we did not pay the bill quickly after she brought the check-- she rushed us.
In an expensive restaurant this is not a good policy. The cuisine was good.
First time at Hanks on a recommendation from friends. Was worth the visit. We had 3 appetizers and a couple of glasses of wine. The oysters were outstanding as was the tuna tartare. The lump crabcake was excellent. The entree’s were a bit pricey for our budget. Maybe on our next visit. Overall, would highly recommend Hank’s.
We had broiled grouper and Mahi Mahi. They were delicious on their bed of flavorful grains. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. This is a must restaurant for seafood lovers.
All five of us really enjoyed our meal, with one friend saying it was the best food she had ever eaten!
Very good food. Great service. A little loud and a little pricey, especially alcohol.
Quality service and quality seafood. Server recommended crab cakes for a starter, and they were full of crab with seasoning that enhanced, not overpowered, the flavor. Entrees were shrimp and grits and grouper. We would recommend both—again, the fresh flavors of the seafood were enhanced by the preparation.
i have dined 3 times at hanks and the food and service has been great each time. i highly recommend.
Hanks never disappoints! Their regular menu items are delicious with lots of carryovers from the former Henry’s a block away. If it’s your first visit you should try Seafood ala Wando for the delicious blending of seafood. The fried or broiled combos can’t be beat. She crab soup or Oysters Casino are great starters. Noise level is a little high but doable.
This was our first time at Hank’s. We enjoyed every minute of it. Will return for sure!
Great food and menu. While completely full could speak easily due to sound absorbing ceiling tiles; THANK YOU! Lovely ambiance.
Danielle was a pleasure
We had a wonderful dining experience for our family of 5
Not a value type restaurant, but didnt expect one either.
Thank you for a wonderful evening
Absolutely delicious! We highly recommend it if you love seafood. One of our favorite meals in Charleston.
Not a cozy place by any means. A party of two cannot sit next to each other. Two main entrees were out of stock and unavailable. Waiters seemed overwhelmed by the business and service was slow.
Food was excellent
Service was impeccable - thank you Tyler!
Could improve o restroom configuration.
Hank’s did not exceed my expectations. Our soups were cold. The restaurant overall was okay.
We chose to eat here on New Year's Eve as it's one of our favorite restaurants downtown. You can't beat the fresh seafood. The only downside was the cocktails seemed watered down. Despite this, we still gave Hank's a high rating. A must visit for tourists or locals.
We went on New Year’s Eve and it was everything we hoped for! The food was excellent, our waiter was excellent and we had a great time. We will remember Hanks for a long time.
Jessica is awesome. I hope her soon to be daughter knows what a great mom she has.
The service was excellent and food delicious. A great place to enjoy New Year's Eve dinner.
New Year’s Eve - great place to visit with old friends over wine and fantastic food!
New Year’s Eve supper. The server was less than enthused. I’m sick and tired of being a victim of someone who is unhappy with their job. Suggestion: don’t be in a customer facing position. I’m tired of making reservations at a restaurant with consistently great food with consistently smug servers.
Food was excellent!
Hanks is hands down one of our favorite restaurants in the Charleston area!
