Overall our experience was positive. The portions for the daily catch were quite small and my fish was over cooked. Definitely not worth $35. My wife had the shrimp and pasta. The shrimp were good sized but they were served with the head on. My wife can be a bit squeamish on occasion and the beady black eyes staring up at her were unnerving. I removed the heads for her but she still could not eat them. I ate them and in my opinion they were over cooked, dry and tough. If I had not had such an epic meal the night before I probably would have been more generous with my review, but accompanied by the high price and the less than attentive service I was generally disappointed.
Beautiful location. Excellent food and service!
Hana ranch was AMAZING! The food is great and the night we went they had a live band. People were extremely friendly and we all are looking forward to returning soon.
The outdoor tables were in a great spot with a beautiful view but our service was lacking, we weren’t checked on again after our food came out until we were ready for the bill. They were also out of 3 things and the menu isn’t very big to begin with. Food was just ok and very expensive. My cocktail was great but outrageously priced-$16. I was really disappointed. Next time I would do the food trucks instead.
Very nice waiter and friendly staff!
Nice setting, used outside dining, nice view and quieter than inside.
Food was good, cocktails nice, wait staff friendly.
The food here was above expectations delicious even though we ordered off of the happy hour menu and ordered mainly finger foods and poke. The price and value of the food were way above average and the waitstaff were super patient and kind. We had breakfast here the next morning and it was just as good if not better quality than the dinner. The saimin was huge and the pork belly was less tender than I’m used to it but it was grilled crispy and superrrr tasty. Would recommend this as a stop anywhere near Hana or as your likely only option if you’re staying at the Hana Maui resort. I would recommend both this restaurant and the beautiful resort to everyone I know!
This is the only true restaurant vs. food truck in Hana. The menu looked great. We ordered a lot but would rate as B- at best. We booked restaurant for both night we were in Hana but canceled reservation for second night and went with food trucks instead. Service and friendliness were quite good, but food quality was meh. We tried the tuna poke (good--big chunks but not served with anything else), the chicken wings (Asian and buffalo--good, not amazing but good), the pork belly (not good--overcooked), the prawns (sauce was too much), the quinoa salad (decent). Only house wine and no other choices. Waitress and hostesses were friendly. Decent but decided not to return second night. Much preferred Thai by Pranee food truck we had for lunch. Long wait for food (recommend calling ahead) but food was delicious. They close at 5 so for dinner we ordered from Ae's Thai Food truck which was fine but no where near as good as Pranee. The Hyatt Hana Maui Resort is amazing but without a top class restaurant, I wouldn't stay again despite their great location. The pool is beautiful with an amazing bar tender, but pool chairs (and highly limited menu makes priced hotel charges insane. Views--incredible. Bungalow--incredible. Distance to National Park--good. Food--meh.
We really enjoyed Hana Ranch! We stayed one night at the Hana Maui Resort during our Road to Hana adventure and had to dine at this restaurant.
I had the Kalbi Ribs which had incredible flavor but were a little tough to chew. I’d still order them again! My husband had the burger and it was delicious.
We also had the Chocolate Decadence and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I thought everything was very well priced for the quality.
All around outstanding !
Food was good, not exceptional but solid. Service was efficient . We were seated outdoor. Bothered by flies or flying bugs.
The view is spectacular!!! Ocean winds coming in for outdoor seating. All seats have an ocean view. It’s fresh produce. Salad was fresh and homemade dressing vinaigrette was amazing. The ribs are a must!!! Burgers as big as your head!!! And fresh and delicious. It’s at the endish of Hana Hwy. also a couple shops are right there
The staff was wonderful and we had live music throughout the evening. The salad was very good and the drinks were great.
An incredible location overlooking Hana bay. The food was delicious and the service friendly and efficient. A welcome haven after the long and winding road.
Amazing restaurant in Hana. Hands down the best meal that we’ve had so far on our trip to Maui. The prawns appetizer can’t be missed.
We came for breakfast
The outdoor tables do have a roof
Was lovely to drink coffee surrounded by rain
Service was great
Great burger after the drive up to Hana, best Mai Tai the whole trip, and you even get them to go if you're not driving.
Food here is not fresh or good. Except for the butter lettuce salad. The service is good, ambience just OK. Hard to believe this is the "only" restaurant in Hana - in fact, there are food carts like the one just before the state park that are way better. Captive audience I suppose...
Had a great meal at Hana Ranch. The service was great, the fresh catch of the day was on point. Had a great outdoor view of Hana Bay and Hawaiian music playing inside. They had a decent beer selection on draft and my wife really enjoyed the “Lime in the Coconut” cocktail. Definitely would repeat visit this place, and recommend doing so with reservations at least for dinner!
Great setting, great service. Food was delicious. Drinks were great. Would definitely recommend a stop here for lunch on the road to Hana
We had a wonderful experience!
MAI Tai's yumm!
Everything was so good!
Awesome place. Loved this restaurant. It was pretty much the only restaurant in Hana that was open (other than food trucks) but that didn’t degrade the quality /service / ambience what so ever Seriously awesome meal everyone’s dish was delicious and we very much enjoyed the experience. If u r in Hana you won’t be disappointed eating here. Thanks for an amazing experience and meal
Great food! Nice staff and great value!
The Mai Tai’s are amazing with the pineapple foam on top. Service was fantastic. It was quiet sitting outside and enjoying the view
Really enjoyed lunch here. Great patio setting and easy parking. Service was friendly and portions were large.
Outdoor seating was very pretty with market lighting. Good food.
Great food. Great choices. Fabulous fish, greens, veggies, drinks.
We are here 4 times during our stay in Hana- 2 times for breakfast, and twice for dinner. The prawn appetizer and seared fish were excellent. Everything else we tired reruns, salad, and breakfast plate) were fine. The servers were very friendly. I suggest making reservations, especially if you want to sit outside.
Enjoyed dinners here. Great tropical cocktails and food were really good. U’i provided great service & spot-on recommendations.
I've been to Hana Ranch Restaurant many times throughout the years, and I can't remember anything I've ever ordered. This time was different - very different. There's a new chef in town, and I cannot sing his praise loud enough. He's knockin' it out of the park. We dined at Hana Ranch three times between April 11 and 13, 2021. The prawn appetizer was outstanding, as was the ribeye with mushrooms and the shrimp linguine. The atmosphere is very casual, as you might expect in a remote location like beautiful Hana. Just don't show up barefoot in your swim trunks. For Pele's sake, show some respect. Put on some flip-flops and dry clothes. I recommend a patio table, with a view of the beautiful blue Pacific. The local farming community provides fresh ingredients, and the butter leaf lettuce salad was a nice way to begin the night. I also recommend the Mai Tai - very refreshing after a day of hiking the O'heo Gulch. If you have kids, they'll enjoy hill sledding on a pizza boxes. My daughter is still talking about the sledding, today. All in all, Hana Ranch made our trip to Hana even more memorable. Thanks to all!
Outdoor seating is better than indoor, fantastic service all around, and the shrimp appetizer is a must!
Great place for drinks and food in Hana. I recommend it.
Not enough vegetarian choices, and the grilled cheese on the kid's menu was dry and cold! Service was hit or miss. We ate 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners there from lack of choice in a place like Hana. Some servers were great, others were downright rude, and the food took forever to come to the table. The linguini was delicious and my kids enjoyed the veggie burger, my husband liked the Saimin, but not the Loco moco.
AMAZING food. Had breakfast and dinner here and was not disappointed. All the meals were absolutely fantastic!!
The food was great - and the people really nice. MAKE A RESERVATION.
Friendly staff, nice view!
Very good service and food. It just took too long to get, and the restroom smelled like weed after one of the cooks stepped out of it.

This is the first time that I am writing a poor review for a business but everyone who is planning to eat at this place has to know what to expect. The problem is there are not that many restaurant choices in Hana so you are stuck with this place!
The first night we had reservation at 6:45 pm! Well! Don’t even bother for making a reservation because there is no difference if you have a reservation or not! There will be a line to check in and you will be seated only based on who is ahead in the line.
After sitting and waiting for 20-30 mins one waiter showed up and started taking orders from two other tables that we’re sitting after us. We decided to not say anything thinking our waiter will show up soon! But no another waitress came and took orders from other tables and ignored us completely! We called her and she apologized (thank you) and took our orders which were two salads, one fish sandwich and two beyond burger sandwiches (so not that hard or time consuming to make)! Guess what? we had to wait an hour and watching all other tables getting their food except us! We complained and finically got the food and the beyond burgers were burned!
We decided to find another place for the next night but this place is the only restaurant that you can eat after 6! So the second night we called and ordered for take out. We were told we can pick up the food in 50 mins! I showed up in an hour and still I was asked to wait more! Fine! After waiting for 15 mins I checked with the hostess and she said I will go check for you! Guess what? She went in the kitchen and never showed up again! After 10-15 mins I saw a bag of take out food on the bar. I asked one of the waiters to see if that belongs to me and I can take it, She said she has to check with the hostess and then she disappeared!
I finally got the order which was missing two items after I checked the order back in the hotel! Never going back
