So much potential but the hummus was gross. Maybe it was a bad or old batch? It had the texture of glue, nice and smooth but not creamy or airy and tasted like old peanut butter. Not bright and tangy and tasted like there was zero salt in it ( way too much tahini made or with burned seasame seeds or old tahini ?) I hope it was an off batch or, perhaps, that's just the way they make hummus because there is no way that it should have been let out of the kitchen unless that is what the chef wanted or the chef was absent. Starting off with that set a bad tone for the rest of the meal. It's hard to recover from a start like that. When you go perhaps stay away from the hummus or maybe get a taste first - I'm not an hummus expert, maybe you'll like it. The rice tasted like it had a supermarket seasoning packet added to it-if you have ever had rice-a-roni from the 80s that is what it tastes like, again maybe you'll like that. The baba ganoush was great but that is harder to screw up.

The whole meal was delicious! Highly recommend ordering the whole Shebang - it's all the dips and you can try them to see what you want more of! Octopus was spectacular, chicken skewer was great. There is also an eggplant dish under mains that was the best eggplant I've ever had. Everything was exceptional and the service is A+++! One of the best meals in Houston!

We celebrated a graduation with family, a party of eight. The atmosphere was lively but not loud. We had no trouble conversing. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with an indoor/outdoor feel. The service was excellent, the food was 100% delicious (and we’re a family that cooks a LOT and knows food and wine), the wine list was extensive and interesting and also reasonably priced. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hamsa.

Great start to a fun date night. Food was excellent. We really love the wholeshebang. All the dips are tasty. And the kebab was also good. Hamsa is on our Houston restaurant rotation.
