   Overrated which was a surprise since with all the reviews, I expected so much more, like way more. Of course it was lunch so that may be the reason why, I have no idea. One of my guests had the steak sandwich (I think prime) and it was so chewy and full of fat she left half of it on her plate (what she couldn't eat) and as the waiter picked it up she mentioned it him and from what I was told he appeared not to even care of course this was after we left. Maybe it was the way we looked, I have no clue, but for being the number one restaurant in Charleston, number 4 in the nation for Trip Advisor, it was really odd. Bottom line I'd go back but it wouldn't break my heart if I couldn't get a reservation.

   My wife and I tried their new Saturday lunch service. We had the wedge salad which was just an explosion of flavor from their homemade dressing to the thick cut bacon cooked to perfection. The hamburger was amazing. The service was impeccable - from the greeting at the hostess stand to the exceptional service by our server Austin whose poise and sophistication belies his very young age. There is absolutely nothing that we could say negative about our experience at Halls. It is always top notch.

   It was perfect. From the moment we walked into the door we were greeted by friendly hostesses and our waitresses and other attendants were perfect. What a treat. We plan to make Halls Chop House a must on our next visit.

   Hall’s was our favorite meal in Charleston and probably one of the best dinners we’ve ever had. The restaurant itself is very nice inside, with a lively bar scene but also nice dining space. The service is top-notch! You can tell the staff is not only knowledgeable about the menu but also genuinely cares about the customers experience. We ordered a bottle of red wine. My husband ordered the New York strip and I got the petite filet. We shared the creamed corn and the okra. I’ve never been a fan of creamed corn but it was a recommendation so we tried it and I’m so glad we did! The steaks were amazing and you could tell very fine cuts of meat. If you’re looking to splurge on a meal in Charleston, look no further!

   We were really looking forward to eating at Halls because we heard so much about it before coming to Charleston for a visit. We were extremely disappointed in the food overall. We have eaten in many fine steak restaurants and at this chop house we had the Dry Aged New York strip and it did not compare on any level to any perceived high quality restaurant. We also ordered baked potatoes that were cooked but barely warm. Shameful!! I will say the bread pudding was good. I wish it made up for the rest of the meal.
