The convenience of eating at the Hall of Springs would be the #1 reason for recommending this option for concert goers. The ambiance is quite lovely and the servers are excellent. In past years we have enjoyed the full buffet and the opulent dessert array at the end. The salad bar still offers a wide and excellent array of selections from soup, excellent rolls, greens, toppings, meats and condiments that could easily be a meal in itself. In place of the buffet, diners are now offered several complete entrees ; a beef, a chicken, 2 fish choices a vegetarian option and a Mozzarella Ravioli dish, each with specific sides. Several desserts are offered, with an available ice cream bar. I chose the beef short ribs, which should be fork tender, but were instead quite leathery, stringy and dry. While the seasonings were good, the entree was a disappointment. My husband enjoyed the sole francaise. The creme brûlée was very generous. The $31.00 price is fair in my opinion. However, with the wide array of dining choices in Saratoga Springs, we may skip the Hall next time around.

It’s a combination of wonderful atmosphere and great food. The service was excellent as well. Add a gear performance at spac and that spells a perfect evening.

I can't say enough about our experience at the HoS. The staff are exceptional. Accomodating to the max. The food is wonderful. The convenience of being able to walk 2 minutes to the preformance is as good as it gets. Being able to have a wonderful meal and follow it up with a great performance makes for a perfect evening. This is not even restricted to those sho are going to a performance. People can come in off the street and just have dinner there. Plus, the jazz cafe is a fun optin after the performance. What a place!!

Sort of like dinner in a mausoleum, echo-y and empty. Server didn't understand our wine order and substituted without clarifying. Food was pretty good, but not anywhere near worth the price. So disappointing compared to what it used to be like.

I am always amazed when a place boasting of fine dining, does not have any elegance in making tea nor any variety except Lipton's tea bags. My coffee was horrible, despite the waiter's denial, it was hazelnut flavored and was so weak it tasted like warm water. Coffee should be rebusto. The bar also did not have port for an after dinner drink.

The food was good, and the building and ambiance was beautiful. However, I preferred it when the whole dinner was a buffet, rather than just the salad bar. I remember going there about 10 years ago, and it was the most delicious dinner buffet that I had ever experienced. The best part was trying a little bit of everything! Now that we choose from five different entrees rather than having a buffet with a little bit of everything, I was a bit disappointed.

The food was less than mediocre . Very disappointed since I remember the quality being far superior some years ago. Will never eat there again and will discourage others from doing so. Too bad.

Take into account the Hall had just reopened for the season there were a couple of glitches. Our server, Tim, was new but very polite, helpful, accommodating, checking out meal content to meet the dietary needs of a member of our party. We had our drinks & our salad bar when a female in a beige dress swooped in removing the wine list & menus from our table. When I commented that I was glad we knew what we wanted to order, she became flustered saying she’d take our order immediately. I told her we were fine with Tim coming for our orders after we progressed with the salad course. She walked directly to Tim & sent him to us. We hadn’t asked him to speed up but we placed our order to meet that females expectations. The rest of the meal went well. At dessert we asked to close our check so we could meet the 8pm curtain for the ballet. We placed two credit cards in the folder asking to split 50/50. Tim went to the desk to process our payments. In their hurry to close up, one of the females at the desk must have closed it was ours, they gave it to me. The desk staff told our friends they’d return their card when they found it; not acceptable. I reiterated what appeared to have transpired, told the cashier to look in the pile of folders. The missing card was in the third one down. I asked twice if our card had been charged so I could sign. I was told no. We were instructed to enjoy the ballet. Our phone dinged with a charge for the full bill. It didn’t include a tip for Tim. NOT FAIR! The desk needs to get organized and tip Tim 20% on $179.

The food was great and our server was attentive and pleasant. We were there for dinner before the ballet and it was busy but we did not have to wait too long for our food. Check in was disorganized and it took an inordinately long time to get our check at the end of our meal.
