H2O Seafood & Sushi - East Islip
Sunday: 11am- 2:30pm
Friday & Saturday 4:00pm-11:00pm
Mussels and stuffed filet of sole were over cooked and dry. Dessert came 15 minutes after coffee was served.
Very good just like the other time’s we’ve gone. However this time we sat downstairs and it was a little on the louder side. Could’ve just been the sole party behind us who was on the energetic side with kids. Overall great as always
Hostess was friendly. Waiter was absolutely fantastic and food was delicious!
Thanks for a great evening!
This place is expensive for what you get. My dish (chilean seabass) was lacking flavor - tomato caper sauce was good, but not flavorful and there was not enough of it. The potato pancake it sat on was really greasy and not tasty at all. I've had this before, possibly in Smithtown, and remember that I enjoyed it much more. For $39 I'd expect a more flavorful dish. Service was excellent. Ambiance is nice, but the temperature of the restaurant was way too cold.
Took my wife for our 2 year wedding anniversary and it went perfect. Food was great service was even better and they really made the night feel special!
Food is delicious and service wonderful Food is very fresh, delivered daily
Great food, great service. Stuffed lobster was amazing. Will be back. Thank you H20
Can’t go wrong with this place. The owner is always out front making sure her customers are happy. Great food and a great atmosphere.
Great Wine Wednesday Dinner; loved everything I was served! Started with a Romaine Wedge served with black beans, tomatoes, fresh corn, and onions in a delicious avocado Ranch dressing that should be on the regular menu if its not already. Second course was Pepper-seared Scallops served with a bacon and tomato relish. And finally the Seafood Linguini, consisting of shrimp, clams, lobster, asparagus and mushrooms in a lemon white wine sauce. Definitely one of the best linguini dishes I've ever had. As I mentioned to the crew, my compliments to the Chef and the entire kitchen team!
Service was top-notch as always! Warmly greeted and seated by one of the managers, Tracy. Jared the server remembered me from my previous visit and knew I liked extra water, extra napkins, and extra butter for my popovers. GM Angela made time on a busy evening to stop by and chat with me, which I always enjoy doing with her. Its that kind of personal attention that I receive from Angela, Tracy, and Jared that keeps me coming back regularly to H2O Islip. Oh, and the delicious food doesn't hurt :)
Thanks for reading!
Always a great maal and a great experience! The wine dinner is the best deal in town. Sushi is creative and fresh. Love this place.
Wednesday night wine dinner is worth the trip. Food is consistently good.
A great dining experience from food to service to atmosphere.
Excellent quiet dining with exceptionally accomodating staff
My wife and I went for one of their wine dinner. The wine went well with the food.
The burrata/cheese course was delicious. The striped bass course was terrific also.
The tomato bisque with crabmeat was disappointing. Very little crab meat and basil.
I have eaten at H2O on several occasions and I have always enjoyed the restaurant. On this visit, however, the food was not up to par. My friend and I ordered the surf and turf for 2. It includes a shell steak and a 2 pound lobster. The restaurant ran out of 2 pound lobsters, and offered two 1 1/4 pound lobsters instead. That would have been acceptable had the lobsters not been so overcooked making the claws inedible and the meat throughout the rest of the lobster dry and tough. I would have said something but, the manager came over and made a big deal about substituting 2 lobsters and telling us we were getting a better deal because the 2 lobsters weighed more than the single 2 pounder. As an avid lobster eater, I can tell you that is not true. A larger lobster has more meat to shell ratio. In addition, when the lobster is so overcooked, a significant portion of the meat is lost and is not edible. The steak was good, as were the sides. We also enjoyed our mussels appetizer. Unfortunately, a seafood restaurant should be able to properly cook a lobster. I was disappointed but I will go back. Other visits have been much more successful and I will try the restaurant again.
First experience here and we were pleasantly surprised! The service and food we're excellent. We each had different dinner items from steak to seafood and all were cooked perfectly and served nice and hot. Decor is gorgeous, but parking on Main St. was a little challenging. Beautiful!
Lobster was outstanding. Had it broiled and it was cooked to perfection. The popovers are alway a treat.
Very knowledgeable about Celiac's Disease. Very concerned care taken in the kitchen and with the Staff.
The food was amazing. Service was fantastic. Overall, an extremely pleasant anniversary dinner with my husband. Will definitely be coming again
One of my favorite places to dine. Started with the Shrimp and Lobster Won-Tons and they did not disappoint! First time having and it was a great appetizer.
I do wish they'd bring back the Monk Fish Fritters and the Mexican Street Corn, though.
My main course was the Sunday Surf & Turf Special which, for $24, is a STEAL! I've had it before but unfortunately I did not know they stopped putting the BBQ sauce on the shrimp so it was not as zesty as when I've had it before. However, I was told afterward to ask for the sauce next time, which I will. Oh, well! However, my steak was delicious and cooked perfectly!
Always happy to see Tracy from the management team. She came by multiple times to check on my dinner. Hostess Lindsay gave me a nice booth to sit in as I don't care for high-tops. Jared the server was friendly, knowledgeable about food in general and the menu in particular. He along with Erica the busser and Grant the food runner made sure I had plenty of water, extra butter, extra napkins (I'm a slob) and a dirty dish never sat for more than thirty seconds on my table. Compliments to everyone at H2O Islip for being so attentive.
I'm sorry my buddy GM Angela was off and I didn't get to say hi to her but I'm always happy when someone has a much-deserved day away from work!
Jared did a great job at the table.
Hats off to JD (chef) and thank you for the mid course :)
Angela is just amazing. Friendly, professional & always happy.
We will be back soon.
This was the most disappointing meal we have had in a long time. It actually can't be called a meal because we never got our entrees. After 1.5 hours we were still waiting and the restaurant was full of excuses. Such a shame because we were looking forward to celebrating our anniversary there and love the other restaurants like Tellers and Prime.
Had apps-drinks-dinner with my wife then drinks aftr at the bar w friends. The staff was attentive-food top notch. All in all a great place all around. We would def go back
Our waiter was informative, professional & made certain that we had a Good experience
My reviews of H2O must be pretty boring by now because all I do is gush about this place!
Angela the General Manager is AWESOME! She treats her guests like they are lifelong friends; she is a gem!
Tim our server took great care of us. Our first time meeting Tim but he was on top of everything, from making sure I had extra water and extra butter to bringing out a special birthday dessert at just the right time for my dining companion. Kudos to Tim!
Always happy to see (Assistant?) Manager Tracy and the hostesses who are always so welcoming and accommodating.
Now, about that delicious food: Great Wine Wednesday Dinner special featuring a yummy scallop and shrimp ceviche, a tasty skirt steak cooked a perfect medium rare, served with seasoned French fries, and a unique third course composed of brie cheese with warm apples, strawberries, and honey drizzled on top. I'd like to try and make that at home!
My dining companion, the birthday girl, had the daily whole fish special which was Branzino served with roasted (?) potatoes and sautéed spinach in a tomato bisque-type sauce. For her b-day dessert the gang brought out a piece of their famous tear drop chocolate cake, which is a layered chocolate-hazelnut mousse, almond sponge cake, chocolate crunch bar, vanilla ice cream. She loved all of it!
And last but not least, even though its what we started with, their popovers are truly to die for! I could eat four of them all by myself, but I stopped at just two...and a half :)
Thanks for reading!
Visited to take advantage of their Monday Lobster Special. Tim was our server and he gave outstanding service. We each had a two pound lobster which was cooked to perfection and was delicious.
We will be visiting again to take advantage of this special.
We love H2O! My husbands favorite is the beef Wellington and my go to is the everything crusted tuna
We had the Wednesday night dinner special and it was delicious.....a seafood bake with mussels, king crab legs, shrimp and lobster!
Another great wine dinner, terrific service by Tim.
Celebrated Grandma’s birthday. It was lovely. First we were seated by the bar which was too noisy for Grandma but the staff was very accommodating and set up a booth for us further back. Fit 5 Adults no problem. Drinks were great , I highly recommend the Babylon Express. The menu varied from fish tacos to beef Wellington. Both were delicious. The staff was very friendly and gave us a free dessert for the Birthday girl. She also received a $25 gift card to come back again- which we will! This is our third time eating here and it never disappoints. This place is fresh and light inside and was great for a summer birthday celebration.
Love the casual vibe. The food was very good. Sushi this time. Service was excellent. There a little pricey here, but it's worth it
The sushi/sashimi platter for two was tasty, great value and plentiful. My husband enjoyed the H2O martini. The restaurant is the right blend of casual/dressy. You can wear anything and feel like you’re dressed right.
Food was delicious and service was superb!
We had two fish dishes .I had the sea bass over spinach and a potato pancake with a tomato base sauce. It was excellent.
They had a salmon on the menue with wasabi. We asked if they could simply grill it with some spinach. They readily compiled and it was excellent. Service was superior.
If you haven't been in a while it's time to go back!!!
Beautiful restaurant. Well designed and looked promising however, drinks were over iced and food served warm. I’m familiar with H2O in Smithtown and that is a gem but this sister restaurant doesn’t hold a candle to the original restaurant. Service was excellent and the hostess very accommodating but it doesn’t make up for bad drinks and adequate food.
We didn’t have our usual server and were not impressed.
By far the best brunch menu ever. Endless Bellinis, Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's will make your day. Highly recommend the Seafood Hash and Crab Cakes Benedict. The Cinnamon Rolls will change your life.
H20 is a great restaurant. The service was and always is very good. Their food? Wow! Their sushi is so fresh. The lobster roll is to die for. The desserts amazing!!! I’ve been there multiple times and have also taken sushi to go. I highly recommend this restaurant. Perfect for families and/or a date with a friend etc.
3 course wine dinner was great. Our server Tim was outstanding!
