Date night with my family and kids great experience love it!
Great food and fun cooking
Great food and Fun cooking/grilling experience!
Our service was not good and we would have to get there attention. If we did we would sit there for 30 minutes with no help
Great service. We were quickly served. We ordered beer (HH price) and chef’s favorite as dinner that came with soup, salad, rice and lots of different kinds of meat. Definitely a lot of food for 2 people. However, we thought everything was on the sweet side. Great if you love sweet, but a bit too much for our taste.
Was a wonderful experience, and a nice surprise that there was a very affordable happy hour!
The food we got was good but they were out of more than half of the items we ordered.
Food was amazing. Service was great. Loved the experience.
Christmas dinner! The restaurant was great for that.
Our waiter is great, but the receptionist at front desk is not very helpful and friendly.
Wonderful spot for a quick and tasty lunch!
Great! Good food and service
Lunch combo is a good value
Great meal, value
The food was great and our server was the best. We had a reservation and did not have to wait a minute pass the time. We will definitely visit this location again.
I'm from California, visited this location in New Orleans. The food was good, service and customer service was poor. Manager closed restaurant early. He said we close kitchen at 930, I explained it's only 9:17pm. Had several people in the restaurant, but refused to seat us. As well, stopped happy hour early. Not customer friendly, would not come back.
I went to Gyu Kaku for thanksgiving dinner. I made the reservation several days in advance knowing we would be in New Orleans that day. A day before the reservation they had me confirm that I would actually go and I confirmed with open table. I arrived 5:05 on a 5:00 reservation and I could tell something was wrong with my reservation and they acted like it was a total surprise. We got seated and it took them 45 minutes for us to get any food. Mind you this is a raw food restaurant where they bring you food to cook yourself. Our server Diane did not apologize only gave us blank stares when we would ask for our food. I was mostly served by the bar and hardly saw our waitress. I have been some awful places and I try hard not to write these negative reviews but I would feel terrible if anyone wasted even a penny at this establishment. I can not remember the last time I had such an awful dining experience. Truly this place is garbage and the food being tasty is truly the only glimmer of light in this dark dark black hole that is Gyu Kaku. I won’t be back and I’ll do everything to post this review everywhere I can. Truly the worst!
We dined at Guy-Kaku for Thanksgiving and 10/10 we recommend ditching that dry turkey for this spot. It was so chill and the server was really helpful with how to use the grill and recommendations. Definitely catch them at happy hour. Can’t wait to return with friends/family.
Food was excellent and service was great!!!!
The food was amazing and they accomplished our 9 person party with ease!!! Our waiter patiently explained the pretty extensive menu to us which was great! Loved it!
Jessica, our server, was great along with the rest of the staff. Always hits the spot.
What we wanted to ordered, the restaurant did not have. Very disappointing.
I was a regular at the Gyu-Kaku chain back in Los Angeles, and the New Orleans location doesn't disappoint. My only complaint is the noise level, but when you're at a "cook-your-own-food joint," you're there more for fun than sedated romance. Ask for the waiter Justin. He was great :)
Food was great as well as service. Wasn’t quite sure about the grilling experience but really enjoyed it.
I was expecting much better than what we got. I am not sure I would come back
We had an awesome experience! Food, service and atmosphere were excellent!
Great for date night! servers are always amazing ! i love the ramen
Excellent service and food quality. Good value.
Enjoyed every bit of the food and experience
The food there is great. We had a wonderful lunch there.
But the location we were given was really cold. It was only when we were eating that we felt warm. Also the table was sticky and didn't feel like it was cleaned up well.
We marked it as birthday but they didn't say anything about it, which was a shame. Nonetheless, Gyu-gaku is still a very good restaurant in New Orleans.
Felt a bit rushed by the servers. Otherwise the food was excellent and the value was great as well. Great for large groups.
Excellent Food and Atmosphere. Very Knowledgeable Staff - Overall 11/10.
The food and service was amazing. Dined for a birthday celebration and it really hit the spot. Seating was spacious for our party of eight, two couples on each side of the table and had plenty of room for each to cook their items.
Fun and delicious
It was very delicious, it was my first time trying Japanese BBQ and I brought a friend who is from japan and hadn't been in almost 10+ years and even they agreed that it tasted like home (the karaage especially). Will definitely be coming back again!
The hostess wasn't masked and didn't greet, but the manager came over and welcomed. The food and service were terrific otherwise.
Went for a friends birthday. The food quality wasn’t as fresh as it usually is. Server was good and friendly.
Love it !!
Food was great, but service was really poor. Our waitress was pretty MIA the whole time. It was hard to flag her down for anything. We didn’t get any drink or napkin refills the entire time. It was my sister’s birthday so the whole experience was very frustrating and disappointing.
Parking was abysmal even for a Sunday. Can’t say that I’ll make the effort to come again. In my opinion, it’s definitely not worth the trip.
It’s was a great fun experience and the service was even better. Can’t wait to go back and bring more people.
