Great overall self grilling experience. Fresh cuts of meat and amazing service by our waiter Noah.
Server could not handle serving guests once a larger party came. They became his number one priority couldn’t even get a refill of water or a bowl of rice without asking several times. Hostesses were also very rude we asked one to assist us with getting the bowl of rice since the server was not paying attention to our requests and she told us that it was a request for our server. Customer service was lacking and then having to pay in front of the server as if he deserved a tip was highly upsetting.
Love the food but the servers probably not enough for the place and had to wait longer for them but other than that all good !
Drinks came late, had to ask for chopsticks since they were never given, plates I ordered never came, asked for a bag to go never got it either...3/10

They sat us at our table right away and got started at taking our drinks. We had our food pretty quick. It was really easy to grill our meat. The s’mores were nice. Some meat pieces had a bit too much fat for our liking.
Been multiple times now and can say w confidence: Service is been reliably horrible. Order something and nobody knows where the hell the order went.. when you ask, they just stare at one another tryna figure who is taking the blame on this one 😑 Every time! If it wasn’t for the fun atmosphere and great food, i would go back as much... while not “expensive” still a lot to be paying for doing all the cooking ourselves and tipping out like a chef properly prepared it, and a server properly served it! Since the meats also look SO similar, would be helpful if the marked the plates with some label to indicate WHAT the meat is, and how long it should be cooked... otherwise the dump all the plates on your table, quickly rattle off names and cook times, and run off. Even they have no idea what the dishes are if they return to the table later! SUCH little additional efforts would make it a MUCH better experience and i’d take people back there in drovvves!
The only complaint I have is that drinks take too long. We ordered four different drinks, and we got three within 10 - 15 mins. The 4th drink we got it when we were done with the first round of food and meat.

Great food, but slow service.
Fun place to go with a group. Dinner was healthy and delicious! We had the standard “Ninja” for three people and had leftovers to take home.

Birthday celebration for my son. Everything was fabulous! Food is amazing!
We love this place but this time they forgot half of our order. Took forever to get the next Item and it had full staff and 3 tables being served. We tried reminding our server when he would come back and ask again if we need anything but still hadn’t brought anything we had already asked for previously.
Very friendly service and I enjoyed not being pressured every so often by a waiter, definitely a great experience snd felt private and that I could talk freely! Loved it completely.
I have been here 20+ times and it is amazing every time.
Service was lackluster to say the least. In addition, they turn bright lights on an hour or so before they close and you’re not even in charge of when you finish because it’s all cost out. Not a great experience was not very impressed. Will not return
I went there for my birthday and I’m glad I did. The waitress was pretty busy but she wasn’t really attentive either. My bf needed water and she never came back to check on us. The one time she came over to our table was to let us know that the kitchen would be closing soon and if we needed anything else. We simply just told her we wanted the rest of our food since we hadn’t even received that yet lol. She explained that the kitchen is running behind which is odd if they are about to close it... also we never received our own rice. It was fine without it but it would have been nice to have since it was part of the set we paid for. Overall I do like the place. I probably just wouldn’t go on a weekend ever again.
Ruined my ANNIVERSARY. Terrible service. Forced us to buy meat when we are vegetarian.

The food was mediocre. The meal deals provide a lot of food for the price, but the quality is disappointing. Lacking flavor for the most part. The dipping sauces taste overly sweet. Nothing like restaurants in Japan.

Our first time at Gyu-Kaku and it was a wonderful experience! Our waitress I think she spells her name Ting (sorry if I misspelled that) was friendly and excited to explain the process to us. Food was Ah-ma-zing! Cocktails were on point! Overall everything was great! We can’t wait to go back again!

We waiting sooo long for our meats to come out then was told by another server that our food was put on hold because we ordered multiple options. Felt like we should have been asked if we wanted all our food at once, not just holding our order because different guest ordered different options.
Our server walked us through the menu and provided great recommendations. Everything was delicious!
Solid Korean tabletop bbq in east Austin!
The food was great & overall we had a nice experience but:
1. We walked in & there was not one other guest in the restaurant & no one was there to greet us. I had to walk to the back & find someone to seat us.
2. They were playing Christmas music quite loudly which I found strange given it’s Jan 12. I asked if they could turn it down or play something else which they eventually did.
3. Our waiter was having trouble keeping his mask on & had unruly hair which should have been secured. This led to some concerns not just related to Covid but overall hygiene.
Food was okay. Service not so much!
This place was amazing! We got a reservation on the same day and it was an awesome experience! The food was great, particularly the Prime Kalbi Short Rib and the Filet Mignon. We had a great time and it was a perfect place for a lot of food, a lot of laughs, and a great experience.
The food was good but service was poor. I’m not used to waiters not wanting to accommodate a last minute dessert.... it was 10:00pm when I wanted dessert and the waiter kept saying we had to be out by 10:15pm and he acted like he couldn’t do anything about it and brought my dessert in with so much laziness and “I don’t want to do this” type of attitude and to me.. he could have promptly brought that dessert instead of wasting time explaining that I had to be out at 10:15pm and when we walked in, the girl who checked us in wouldn’t even allow us to get seated without the third party showing up and the bar stools were shut down so we waited for 10-15 minutes awkwardly by the door and eventually went out and decided to be out in the cold instead... it was an unpleasant experience overall which is unfortunate because the food is actually good. I would pay that much for the food but the service was not worth that kind of money.

Good time cooking up your meal makes for a great special event and they keep it super safe w dividers between tables. Highly recommend everything is delish and waiter was highly attentive!
Mediocre marinated meats always on the sweet side. Only few cuts worth eating like Umakara Ribeye and most are garbage so it’s best to avoid combi courses although this might be unavoidable with a big group dining here for the first time. Service wasn’t great with several items missing and always beckoning servers to fetch items. Overall so so table bbq. Much better done at Korean bbq joints like Korea House and they won’t charge you more for extra wasabi or refills of kimchi!
This place has the best cocktails on the eastside, with a ton of food options. A little on the loud side, but this place is a great go-to for a nice night out.
Even though they were short staffed and they were making a lot of effort to serve as much as possible.
Without showing stress and still nice to us. We had more than 15 people and I bet it was not easy to organize. Thank you. Food was excellent as always. We live the lunch menu.
