Gumbo Ya-Ya New Orleans
Let’s start at the very beginning – our crafted Gumbos. Our namesake Gumbo YaYa is a mixture of gulf shrimp, oyster blue crab, chicken and andouille sausage. Choose from other scrumptious recipes like our 7-steak gumbo, Seafood and Okra gumbo, Duck and Andouille sausage and much more or, if you’re not in the mood for gumbo (and there may be a time) we have several other soups to choose from.
But Gumbo is just the beginning. Stick to your ribs entrees, Fried Seafood platters, AMAZING sandwiches and Po’ Boys are there for your pleasure. Add in amazing, down-home sides, a robust kids menu and desserts, desserts and more desserts and this will be the ONLY place you’ll want to stop
Good food in a very comfortable and clean new space. The red beans rice are phenomenal!
The service was horrible. We sat for 13 minutes before anyone even looked at us. Finally the hostess (the best hostess and the only reason I didn't rate this a 1 over all) hunted down our server and ordered us our beverages. The Gumbo was so-so, lukewarm and the alligator was cold. The Crawfish Benedict was good and so were the mimosas. Our server never came to bus our table as our apps and meals piled up. Finally we moved outside to finish our drinks and that is when the chef came out to say hello, the hostess cheerfully chatted with us and we enjoyed people watching on the patio. That was the best part of the meal!
Pleasant, casual ambiance. Hostess was welcoming and attentive. Meals were average, jambalaya lacked that Cajun flavor and chicken was rubbery.
Food was great... restaurant seemed a bit understaffed so it took a while to be seated by hostess despite having a reservation, but our server was great and attentive. Overall, our group of 12 had a great experience! Thank you.
Very poor service
Food was great and wonderful customer service.
Enjoyed the experience overall. I just wished for more spice in the entrees offered.
Great food and service!
Service was non existent and food was okay, could have been more authentic
Food was amazing
Really enjoyed the gumbo. So glad we stopped by and found this place! Server was so nice. Very good southern hospitality.
Loved my breakfast there! I’ll be back!
I was looking for some great gumbo and this place really did have awesome gumbo.
The gumbo ya-ya was delicious and the crescent city salad was amazing too.
Great service and great food, you can’t go wrong with this place.
This was the 2nd time I ate here. Both times we really enjoyed the place! Great food and service!!
Great experience from beginning to end. They have patio or inside dining. We chose the patio. Great for people watching. Our server, LaLa, was efficient and informative. We ordered the bottomless mimosas and the Gumbo Sampler. My friend ordered off their all-day breakfast menu. Both were phenomenal. The manager gave us recommendations for the evening. We will definitely be back.
Did not like the service at all! Food was ok but definetely could've been better comparing to other delicious restaurants in New Orleans.
Mediocre food. The gumbo moved it up to 2 stars, but that is it!
Great food! Was surprised mire people weren’t there!
Our service here was wonderful! My riverbend Benedict had all the creole flavors I was looking for; however my poached eggs were cooked all the way through. The Cajun Bloody Mary had good flavor but was not anything special. If you go I would recommend sitting outside for a better atmosphere.
The hostess thought she was doing us a favor by sitting us down. Table was a little dirty and the hostess moved a chair from another table and slammed it into my wife’s chair. Said nothing and then left the chair in the aisle. She had a bad attitude!
Very nice little place near the river. Could hear the riverboats... Food was quick and service was really nice.. Thank you
