Chaat is a medley of flavours and texture. Coriander, onions, pomegranate and our date & tamarind sauce as well as our raitha. Black chicken peas cooked with arjwain and laid on top of crunchy Chorafali ribbons together create savoury, spicy sweet flavours and exciting textures. Classic Gujarati street food

Savory pastry balls filled with crushed peas cooked with tempered mustard seeds, sesame seeds, ginger; chilli, garlic, cinnamon, fresh coriander and lemon juice. Served with a fresh relish
Gobbi na Mhuthia^^^GBP 6.00
The mhuthia are formed from a dough made from finely sliced fresh Savory cabbage, gram, millet and plain flour; yoghurt, spices and fresh lemon juice. This is cooked with steam, then sliced and served sauteed with sliced onions and tempered sesame seeds

Hearty Dhokli is made from wheat and gram flour mixed with chilli, ginger and sesame seeds is rolled out and cut into strips and cooked in a deliciously rich Tuvar soup, made with tomato, peas, jaggery and curry leaves. Served with a little clarified butter: A classic warming Gujarati dish

Sweet potato and peas in a sauce made with tomato, onion, tempered cumin, sesame seeds, ginger; chilli and fresh fenugreek leaves. Served with marinated Aubergine
Palak, Kanda ne Paneer*** ^ *GBP 6.50
A classic Gujarati dish, marinated Paneer; (Warm milk is split using lemon juice, the curds separate from the whey, the curds are then pressed overnight in muslin to make paneer). Cooked with cumin, chilli and ginger with spinach, onions & peanuts

Was looking forward to dining here, but left feeling underwhelmed. Service was adequate but some of the staff were far too self absorbed to be a credit to the restaurant, and others too inexperienced to be helpful. Food served on cold plates on a cold night not appreciated. Suggestion: please get a plate warmer, and a door curtain for the winter.

This was a farewell visit before the restaurant closes. Very sad to see it disappear although we are promised it will have 'supper club' occasions and the market stalls will be continued. Excellent food as usual and very friendly staff add to the atmosphere and intimacy of the venue. Hope to sample their ongoing ventures.

Brilliant place - all round. Unique food offer. It's difficult to find authentic Gujarati cuisine.

Very busy and not enough staff. Left after 25 minutes having only been given menus and a bottle of water with no glasses on that time

Have been multiple times but this last visit was pretty disappointing. Some of the food was good, some was really underwhelming. Service was extremely slow and inattentive. Doubt I'll return.

The food was excellent as usual. Restaurant was rather chilly and so we did not hang around after finishing our food. Would have liked to linger but too cold.

Food was excellent as always even though they've started doing set thalis. Unfortunately the service was very slow, sat down at 8.30 but didn't get our food till almost 9.30, even though it was a set menu. Good value for money and delicious food so I'd recommend it if you're not in a rush!

Real shame it changed its format. Set meal now. Food not as good - but still good. Quiet but feeling empty compared to how it used to be. What a shame! We used to love it. But still worth a visit if local.

We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was good. I felt the service could have been more attentive and prompt. I will certainly go back.
