   My wife and I invited some friends out to dinner and wanted to try a restaurant that we hadn't been to before. We decided on Grove Hill in Chagrin Falls and we were all glad we did. We started out the evening with cocktails. Our friends had the Portabello mushroom soup which they thought was excellent. My wife and I did not have appetizers wanting to save ourselves for the main course. My wife and friend had the short ribs which they both said was phenomenal. My friend's wife had a small plate of the rare tuna, which she said was fantastic. I had the sweet potato gnocchi and it was the best gnocchi I ever had by far. The dish was layered with different flavors and textures. It was a delight. Our waiter was named Daniel and he took extremely good care of us, looking after our every need, and making sure the food was prepared correctly. He checked with us often to see if we needed anything but not obtrusive. He provided excellent service for our dining experience. We can't wait to go back there and try some of the other interesting dishes they have on the menu. I would highly recommend Grove Hill.

   Apps were good. We had the ahi tuna and ribs. Salmon for dinner was way over cooked and dry. We sat for 20 min for iced tea and another 25 min before we were approached to take order. We didn't receive food until 45 min after arrival. We will never go back. The place is loud and tables positioned to not provide a relaxing atmosphere.

   The creativeness of Chef Tim Bando comes through on all menu selections. So many difficult decisions when choosing from the Groove Hill menu. I would like to order one of everything! Even the bread is exceptional!

   I was here on a date with my husband. We sat at a two-top table in the bar which is my favorite place to sit when I am at Grove Hill. It's fun and lively and has great character! I ordered the phenomenal arugula salad with shaved mushrooms, fennel and Parmesan to start and it was so delicious! and then I had the seared scallops which were to die for! My husband had the baby spinach and cured duck breast salad and he loved it! He had the chicken livers for his meal and ate every bite! We love Grove Hill! Always a perfect meal!

   This was our second meal at Grove Hill and we were pleased with the service and variety of items on the menu. Everything arrived in a timely manner and was delicious!

   Despite having a reservation and a number of empty tables in the dining room, we were seated at a table next to the bar - the music and bar patrons were rather loud, not really what we were expecting. While our server was initially attentive, he eventually found some friends at the bar and talked to them the majority of the time. Having our bread all but tossed at our table by a passing busboy didn't help either. The food was ok but not enough to warrant a return visit.

    We had a wonderful experience. Great service, quaint restaurant with charm and great food. We tried it all- a mix of small plates and two large entrees for a party of four. Nice portion sizes- make sure to try the ribs and lamb shank, delicious. We liked the Apple tart and Creme brûlée for dessert. Great find!
