6-10 guests: The Balcony is located up one flight of stairs, overlooking the kitchen. It is available to book at 5:30pm & 8:30pm and is yours for 2.5 hours. The menu features 10-12 dishes for $130 per person with a $800 F&B minimum. Flexible booking time is available for a $1,400 F&B minimum and is based on availability. If interested, please email us at info@theprogress-sf.com.

11-18 guests: The Mezzanine is located up one flight of stairs, overlooking Fillmore Street. You may choose your reservation time without the pressure of time constraint. The menu features 10-12 dishes for $130 per person with a $2,500 F&B minimum. In addition to the menu, our events team will work with you to create the best possible experience.

We kindly request more than 5 days notice should you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations within 5 days of your date will be charged half of the food and beverage minimum, and day-of cancellations the full food and beverage minimum.

Our group dinner was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant accommodated everyone’s eating preferences and there was delicious, plentiful food for everybody. The food and wine just kept coming all evening. Servers were polite and competent. The ambiance is lovely and everyone totally enjoyed themselves. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Bread service was forgotten and charged on the bill for a group of 10 but rest of the night was good.

The balcony is a such a great group location with a round table that lets a large group all participate in a single conversation and above the kitchen and quieter than the normal dining area. The Progress food is fantastic and aside from a few great classics always on the menu that are worthy of that honor (hello duck, caviar potato cloud, peanut milk) changes with the seasons. Good wine list.

We unfortunately felt the service was very slow for what we paid (semi-private mezzanine), even after we asked to speed things up. This really took away from the experience.

Our 15 person birthday dinner went off without a hitch. The mezzanine space was perfect with a great view overlooking the restaurant. Food and drinks were divine. And the staff was amazing and attentive. Never felt we weren’t being looked after.

I’d give The Progress six stars if I could. We were seated in the balcony for our group of seven adventurous diners. Everything was wonderful. Our server was spot on, professional, yet not intrusive. The food itself was incredible. Each dish gave a new taste experience that was unique to us. It’s not cheap, but was worth every penny. Did I mention the drinks were as wonderful as the food? What a meal!

We were a party of 10 (grandparents, kids and grandkids). We had the balcony table for 10 and it was perfect!! The kids could get up walk around and observe the chefs below through the railings. The food was outstanding, the staff was wonderful and we all said that we will definitely reserve again!!

We had group dining on the Balcony which was perfect because it was off the main dining floor so that we were able to converse easily with each other. The food was very good and the duck and trout were especially notable.

I loved our experience in the balcony for a group a 10. The large round table made it easy to talk to everyone who attended, the service was great, and food was excellent. Would book again for another special group event.
