We had a great dinner at Grotto while we celebrated my son’s graduation. The service and food were excellent!
Amazing experience highly recommend!!
Great food, but the service was really slow last night. This was a different experience than we had before.
The food was unremarkable. We ordered Chicken Parmesan and Francese, the chicken cutlet was thick, dry and crunchy, the sauce was not baked on. It was very disappointing. The pasta was hard and there was an odd spice in the Francese. The appetizers were good but very small portions. The service was good. Would not go back, for the money it was a let down.
Another fabulous dinner at the Grotto! Fabulous food and service!
Had a great dinner at Grotto. Food was great and staff was friendly.
Everything was delicious, especially the panini sliders and the bolognese dish.
Great Food and wonderful place for italian food !
Great place for date night. We went in the evening on a Saturday and the place was great. Service was good, food and drinks were great and the overall vibe was perfect. 10/10.
Cool ambience, great food and drink, great service!
Our dinner was absolutely delicious and it was tasting experience for new flavors and palettes. My favorite was the mussels, chicken pasta, and olives!
Food was inventive, tasty, and flavorful. More so than other Italian restaurants.
We really enjoy our Mother's day dinner. the food was on point and delicious. Server was acting really busy but not unpleasant.
Great place. Good ambience and friendly service. Highly recommend.
Good variety and unique choices. Pasta was better than pizza. Efficient service was welcome as we had lunch before the Astros game.
Went in a group of 11. The space was tight and the music was extremely loud. The food was fantastic so that made up for the atmosphere. Would still go back but probably not in a group larger than 4.
Food was amazing!! Service was terrible. We had to ask multiple times to find our server. Had to ask other servers for more drinks, water and to bus our table. Heard another customer talking to the manager about the service and he raised his voice at her and told her to sit down. Ridiculous!
Great service and good food.
Grotto is one of our favs! Always a great experience every time!
What a great experience, we were in town for a volleyball tournament and the restaurant is right next-door to the convention center. The food was absolutely amazing, we tried The shrimp pasta, the chicken with goat cheese pasta and several people ordered different pizzas, the pizzas were so good the dough was thin but very soft and tasty, the margarita pizza was my favorite with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella
Doing a Ferris Bueller Day - enjoyed lunch at The Grotto before the Astros’ afternoon game
The food, beverages and service were great. Get the meatball appetizers and the grilled cheese-tomato soup ones too!
The grapefruit cocktails were so delicious!
The food was good, but the menu is restricted to only a few items. I would have preferred more items on the menu to find something more suitable to my tastes. I would recommend Grotto, but with qualifications.
Let me start by saying the food was delicious but not as much as I expected for the price. I gave a poor rating because of the service we had. Our waitress never came back after bringing our food- never. We were completely out of water, our glasses, the carafe and other drinks. When she did finally return with our bill she had split the appetizers into each of our bills, even though we didn’t purchase them nor ask to do so. She apologized for not coming back- only to say it’s been a busy night????????
Horrible experience. The calamari was over salted and over cooked. The person serving water touched the rim of the glass over and over. The noise was too loud to speak to the person across the table. You may think all of this is petty so now I will tell you the worst part; this restaurant does not list all ingredients, even the major ones, on the menu description. We asked if a dish contained something we are very allergic to. They replied no. After 5 or so bites we discovered the ingredient, pointed it out to the waitress, she shrugged and said she put it on the ticket. I guess she was concerned about her tip at this point. No attempt to make it right or take it off the check. This place is a complete joke. I wasted my money and an opportunity to have a nice night with my family whom I rarely see.
Great service and food! Good vegan selection and amazing drinks menu
I love this restaurant, it is always the first stop when we get to Houston. Great food, good variety and great service!
Great food and better service. We experienced no issues during our dinner...however, the music was a bit loud. However, not loud enough to mention it.
We were visiting from out of town and had a party of 23 and Shaun was very accomodating! Service and fod was 5+ stars!! Loved the atmosphere.
Excellent food, excellent services, nice ambiance.
Hostess did a great job! we had to make reservations for 2 tables because none were available for 9. The hostess put tables together so we could all be together. Food great, service great!!
Great staff, great service, extremely accommodating for our big group of 15. Totally appreciate Sarah!!! We will be coming back the first weekend of May.
We are there 2 nights in a row and both nights the service was great and food was delicious!
Overall an OK experience. It was very loud inside - hard to talk. Pizza was OK. Chicken Francaise was just OK. Its supposed to have a cream/wine sauce on it, and there was no sauce. Not a bad experience, just not great.
The manager Brian Volk needs leadership and customer service training. So rude and disrespectful. Probably needs training on bias...no other excuse for the way we were treated. Awful and disgusting.
Not a good experience at all. The food took a long time to get out and was not prepared as explained by the server. Moreover, the shrimp were NOT deveined 🤢. I mentioned this and showed the server the issue and nothing was said or done to compensate for the horrible experience. I will never visit this place or hold future company meetings here again.
It was very nice. Wait staff was timely and professional
My husband and I each ordered an entree and he ordered one glass of wine. We spent $67+tip and left hungry. I wouldn't recommend going unless you want to spend a lot of money for a small amount of okay food. The services was good. I guess our money went primarily toward rent given the expensive location downtown at Discovery Green.
