The service and food were impeccable. It was chilly in the bar due to being over the cold air return. Our waitress did lean a menu up against the floorboard to divert some of the cold air. It was also very loud at first. One of the bar patrons was a very loud talker and the acoustics are not good with keeping that noise down. Otherwise a great evening!!
Always have a good experience at Grindstone Public house. Food was excellent, didn't have to wait long for dinner. Service was great.
Wonderful food! Great place will definitely return!
First time there and not sure what to order. Asked server for recommendations and she said “there’s a lot, I don’t know.” (Uuummm not helpful.) Food was good and I may go back based on that. But it was way too loud. I feel like they need to figure out how to dampen the noise a bit as it was hard to enjoy our meal.
First time in restaurant but will definitely be back soon. Had the scallops that were cooked perfectly with a light sauce but wrapped in bacon for extra flavor. The accompanying baked potato was also cooked just right and finished with a light coleslaw. Date had the salmon which she thought was also perfect. Place was full but also had a steady carry out business. We could see a second restaurant opening. Friendly place where all staff worked well together. Cozy, friendly, neighborhood ambiance. Looking forward to our next visit. Tip: get reservations!
The service was great and the food was amazing. Highly recommend this place.
The service is really hit and miss in this establishment. The food is/ was very tasty and most of the dinner plates are a decent value. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and the bartender smashed the lemon slice so severely that the drink was terrible, due to lemon pulp floating through every drink I took. Overall, nice local lunch/dinner spot!
We have gone to Grindstone a number of times and have always enjoyed the food and the staff is excellent. The fried chicken salad is my go to dish and it is amazing. My wife loves both the salad and the whiskey chicken.
Great food. Good service. Unfortunately the ambiance of the outdoor dining option was a bit underwhelming. Was expecting a patio type set up but in reality just a couple small tables on a narrow sidewalk.
Server was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and delivered in very timely manner. We were very satisfied.
The food was excellent, we had the prime rib (medium rare) and a full slab of ribs (half with bourbon sauce, half with peach bbq). Both meals were excellent, the sides were also very good, especially the brussel sprouts and the loaded mashed potatoes. For dessert, we had the key lime pie and the chocolate cake. The key lime was sweet and tart, excellent taste. The chocolate cake was rich, moist and delicious, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that perfectly complimented the cake.
We'll definitely be coming back.
Saturday morning brunch was good, but a little pricey. $50 pre-tip for three people with no alcohol.
Wonderful food and service. But the light level is so dark and it is so loud in there. It was hard to have a conversation with my wife who was right across from me.
Our food was not hot when it arrived. Mashed potatoes were Luke warm and the same with my Mahi mahi. Perhaps the cold salsa made the fish Luke warm. My husbands mashed potatoes were also Luke warm. His burger was hot and my Brussels sprouts were hot. Overall taste of food was good just not hot enough. We did not complain. First time there. Might give it another try perhaps on a weekday.
I liked the food teal well. Coffee was a little expensive but I liked everything
Diverse drink and dinner menu. Nachos was a great start followed by a prime rib Manhattan that was good. Others liked the sliders and burger. We enjoyed the nice but casual service and vibe.
Grww w at Brunch and amazing service!
Can’t wait to come back again!
Food was amazing! Great service and trendy atmosphere! Highly recommend!
Great atmosphere! Delicious food and reasonable prices.
Always a fantastic meal at Grindstone Public House. Definitely recommend making reservations to ensure you get a table!
Great food and service. Monday was 1/2 priced wine. Great selection. Outdoor seating was a little noisy due to being next to street, but not bad. Will definitely go back when in the area.
We sat outside on the sidewalk in recently added COVID-19 seating. Service from our server Wendy was very good and the food was great however the ambient road noise from jacked up trucks and cars approaching and leaving the nearby stoplight disrupted the ambience a bit. Nothing the restaurant can control but something to be aware if if you have someone in your party who is hard of hearing. The restaurant has an above average number of bourbons on hand if you are into that type of thing. We’ll be back.
The food was great, and our waitress was wonderful!!
First time here. Looking for restaurants with outdoor seating these days so reserved an outdoor table. Their outdoor tables are a narrow strip along the sidewalk next to the door. We were offered a choice of outdoors or inside and opted to sit in the bar.
My wife had French Onion Soup as an appetizer that was quite good and a large serving of which half went home with us. I ordered Stuffed Mushrooms with a herbed cheese filling that was very good. Good size serving that would be good for two.
They have a Prime Rib on Friday and Saturday night and we both choose to have it. Well prepared and nice size portion at 12 oz.
We will return.
WE sat upstairs, was our first time up there, noise level was really loud, due to great time people were having in the bar area. Good to see so many people out enjoying themselves.
We were celebrating our anniversary, had company in from out of state and they enjoyed it as well.
It was a birthday and we had a reservation. We were promptly sat but waited about 10 mins to be greeted. Our server greeted us by asking if we were ready to order. Not what we were expecting but she seemed a bit overwhelmed. We moved to the bar and got amazing service from the female bartender. Drinks were perfect. Food was amazing. We will be back!!
It was ok but it was very loud. Our server was very kind.
Great service and menu.
Would recommend for brunch!
We had a date night and was excited to try some new food. I had the bacon wrapped scallops and was amazed at how well they tasted. We also tried the Tiramisu it was so tasty and went very well with the ice cream. Our service was awesome, we sat in the bar area and were very comfortable and taken care of with great detail.
We loved the Devour Indy menu! We were dispointes
We decided on Grindstone after looking at surrounding restaurants online and glad we did! We made a reservation online Saturday morning for the same evening for the bar area. After arriving, we were informed that bar area was still at capacity and had the option to sit in the dining room and we took them up on that being 7:45 pm. We were sat a nice corner booth and loved our food and drinks! We'll definitely be back!
Fun place to hang out for a girls night. Can’t wait to go back.
Steak night is a great value and on our regular rotation
The service was very slow, when I got my food the steak was over cooked (I asked for MR) and the Mac and cheese was cold. It’s like they forgot to warm it up before serving it. My mother ordered a salad and it was served without any dressing. They ended up bringing me a new dish however they decided to cook the steak rare so I wasn’t impressed with the cold center steak. Then my check arrived with out any compensation or apology.
Good food. The bread pudding is over-the-top. Ask for Lexis, she is fun and efficient.
Liked the atmosphere interior design. The waitress (Lexis) was very polite, helpful and a fun person. We enjoyed ourselves very much. The tenderloins we had were very good.
The service was outstanding and the food was great. Definitely hs a great experience and great location.
Always love going to Grindstone. Perfect ambiance, great food for a great price. Our favorite spot.
Everything was great! Our server was friendly and attentive. The food and drinks arrived quickly. My husband’s rib special was a great value and he said the ribs were delicious! My wedge salad with salmon was tasty and our guest said the Cajun fettuccine was very good!
