Service was no where near up to par with the prices on the menu. We received the best service from a waitress that wasn't even waiting on us. You expect a certain level of service with upscale restaurants.l when paying a $250 dinner for 2 and this place definitely fell short. I will not be going back and would not recommend. It is a shame because the food was delicious

specializes in Wagyu (Japanese) steak. It is interesting, but a bit rich (oily) and not my favorite. It is also very expensive ($148 for 4oz and small lobster tail). The service was ok, but a slow start. Overall not very memorable for a very expensive meal in a great location (Gaslamp).

I was told by a hotel concierge to order the Japanese steak as it is to die for. At $80 ($10 per once, min 8 ounces) it was good, but not even close to $80 good. I’m a steak lover, and I’ve had better for half that price. The wine selection is good, and the sides were generous and of high quality. Service was top notch and this may be good as a steak house, but not the premier steak they are pushing.

I selected this restaurant because they have gluten-free menu options. Although the steak was good, they are way over-priced. The server was over-the-top friendly - wanting to have conversations about my diet choices (way too personal) and then she disappeared. We never received our appetizer until after our entrees arrived. The wine was good. Not a good value. Most likely will not return to this restaurant.

Even better my second time around!!! I had the 21 dry aged prime ribeye. Extremely tender and rich in flavor, didn’t even need to add additional sauces as taste was perfect! I did have to add some shaved black truffle as I can never resist them! Loved to be able to see the steaks dry aging in house, I thought I would share.

Was highly disappointed with this place since it was so highly reviewed. Outside of the location of the gaslamp I thought everything was below average in comparison to other steakhouses. I wanted to do soemthing in SD outside of the chain Fleming’s but I regret it now. Ordered the 21 day aged Prime Ribeye and it was flavorless and I wondered if it was even seasoned. For sides, I ordered and corn and brussels sprouts and both left me extremely disappointed in my dinner choice that evening. Nothing feels worse than paying for a meal and not enjoying 1 bit of it but I did enjoy my bourbon drink that was nice.

This place was amazing! They really doa great job providing a warm environment at an upscale place. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere inviting, and the staff extremely nice.

I tend to be wary when it comes to spending high dollar at some restaurants like this, but this place is so worth it. Go here! You won’t regret it!

I ordered 2 beers and both they did not have in stock. On a Friday for an upscale place, unacceptable in my opinion. Also, when you advertise you have something and you don't have it, you should provide alternatives for no cost, it's just good customer service.

First I’d like to say everyone was super friendly and the place was beautiful. I throughly enjoyed our appetizer and my soup. We had the yellowtail crudo and lobster bisque.

Our waitress was nice, not overly friendly, but very nice. She reiterated that they were known for their steaks so we ordered the porterhouse for two. A 44 ounce steak that we ordered medium - pink to slightly red on the inside (even by their own temperature guide).

I digress, I got my lobster bisque and the waitress asked how everything was and if we had gotten something extra special....no we hadn’t. Nor did we after that - which wasn’t expected nor needed until brought to our attention that we should have potentially gotten something a little extra special.

Now onto the steak - it came out at the perfect time, as soon as appetizers and soup was done. However, the steak was not close to medium - definitely closer to medium rare with some pieces more on the “blue” side of rare. The strip side of the steak was tough to cut through and extremely rare - there was maybe 2-3 pieces that were enjoyable. Now you’re probably wondering why not say something - we’ll you’ve all been out to eat or watched those shows - no one wants to say anything.

Overall it was an enjoyable meal and my husband and I had a good time - but as a note I did hear the waitress for the table behind us recommend ordering their steaks medium well. While enjoyable - for $300 I did expect better - especially from a steakhouse who states “steak is what their known for”.

Today was the last day of restaurant week and I enjoyed one of the best steak meals of my life! I had the bison tenderloin which was absolutely amazing. We also had the 20 oz steak which was phenomenal- buttery and flavorful. We started with the shrimp cocktail which was a nice presentation of 4 large prawns in cocktail sauce and also 6 oysters on the half shell. The desert was comprised of molten chocolate cake, which was out of this world, and the lemoncello cake which was light, tender, moist and flavorful.

Great food, but very expensive for the same quality steak and chops that you can get at Morton's or other fine steak houses in the US for a cheaper price. Overpriced in my opinion.

The food was delicious. Our server was really nice. I lost my invasalign and even though I didn’t find it. Everyone went above and beyond. Ribeye was delicious. I just hope they were able to put garlic on the bottom. But not all restaurants can do it.

Fantastic for a date or special occasion.

Food- great quality and taste, presentation of the food was simple which personally I appreciate but can be a downer for the instagrammers who MUST post their expensive meal online.

Atmosphere- it has a much younger feeling then other nice resterant, definitely a great place for 30 somethings. The dress was semi/buisness casual the food and service was fine dining but without feeling "stuffy".

Service- high class, came by and made sure our glasses were full. Very friendly and made sure that we were "ok". Just what you'd expect for the price. One issue I had was at the end of the meal our server asked us to write a review and to mention his name specifically. Asking for a review is fine as long as it is a short sentence or two, not a three minute long speech with a plug for a personal review. This coming from a waiter that had to be reminded that we hadn't been served yet. (Sorry just a personal pet peeve of mine, Google and yelp remind me to write reviews plenty) ALL the staff was wonderful as was our waiter besides those two mistakes.
