We are excited and cautiously optimistic as our community starts to open for business. We are reminding and re-enforcing proper sanitation practices to keep our team members and our guests healthy. We are requiring all staff pass a health check prior to each shift. We are requiring all employees wear masks. We are requiring employee to review a COVID-19 questionnaire when the clock-in (experiencing symptoms, fever, etc). We are educating on social distancing in the workplace.

Anniversary dinner.
Staff were really awesome and service was great

Unfortunately my steak was a little unevenly cooked but flavor was great!

They gave us a free anniversary dinner desert which was awesome!

Brian was an excellent waiter and the manger stopped by our table. They made our dinner wonderful and my wife’s birthday perfect. I would recommend everyone going to this restaurant!

I am hooked- a single seat at the bar
Honestly every dish was exquisite, from the boar appetizer, to the NY strip, boar pasta, and of course - the truffle Mac and cheese. I've had a ton of truffle in my life, this was hands down the best truffle Mac I've ever had. Get it.

I was excited to celebrate my Anniversary. With so many options to choose from in the area, I picked Greystone. Here I go. The place is loud, the food is not all that (trust me) Oh and not to mention the price $$$$$. Appetizers, caprese salad and tuna tartare, no flavor. Steaks, Japense Wagyu, asked for it medium, got well done, no flavor. 80z filet, asked medium rare, got medium, was a little chewy. Definitely a let down.

Terrible service, food was terrible, our bread came after our appetizer, it was delivered just as our steaks came out. The food was not cooked to order. The lobster tail was over cooked, tough and salty. Food was salty and bland. Prices too high for bad service and bad food. I don’t understand why yelp and open table have great reviews for this restaurant—do not go here

Absolutely loved my experience here, the location is perfect being in the Gaslamp! The restaurant was lit with an impeccable ambiance, candles, and even rose pedals/roses were given to couples who were celebrating anniversaries! The hostesses greeted us with kindness from the very beginning, and the servers provided excellent service throughout our entire experience! I was unsure of what to order and was guided with helpful suggestions that fit my taste!

As for the food, it exceeded my expectations! The timing was perfect, along with the portion sizes! I absolutely adored the table-side filet tartare, and have now discovered my favorite place to get balsamic-glazed Brussels sprouts! I had read that this restaurant had won the best steakhouse in San Diego and Gaslamp quarter, and after my first bite I completely agreed! This is the best steakhouse I’ve eaten at in California! I had asked for medium-rare and gotten everything I had wished for! Very flavorful and tender, and overall an 11/10 time! Thank you for this wonderful experience!!!!

Best steakhouse ever!
Food and drink combinations are on point and suggested amazingly from restaurant staff. Always delicious specials you can't find anywhere else. Our favorite downtown destination! Thank you Greystone!

Dry aged steaks. bone in rib eye and lobster tail looked amazing at the table next to us and we ordered that with the Japanese wagyu.
for sides we got lobster Mac&cheese and brussle sprouts
lava cake on fire and esssprrsso martini
we will be back for more of the veriety on the menu. the elk and the buffelo is calling my name

Steakhouses come and go, especially in the current economic climate. Greystone Prime Steakhouse & Seafood is a 20-year staple in the Gaslamp, and after eating there for the first time yesterday evening I'm convinced it will be there for another couple decades.

Greystone was an amazing experience. Servers we’re very attentive and front of house was very welcoming. Sara was so helpful as well. Perfect for date night, would definitely come again.

My steak was over done. No lobster in lobster mac and cheese, but the flavor was good. Our table location was horrible. Too packed in and everytime someone walked by I was bumped and my coat and purse fell off the chair. Since our table was in path of travel to other tables I was bumped into every few minutes. No valet parking even though website states they offer it. I had to walk three blks in heels so my feet were hurting. Overall experience was poor. Do not plan on returning.

Our reservation along with many many other couples was at 8pm. We didn't get seated and had to wait outside in a line until 8:55pm. Everything took a very long time, but the 1 hour wait to get in even after having a reservation 1 month in advance was ridiculous.

Waited an hour and 15mins on valentines when our reservation was at 8pm. The server was extremely annoyed and acted as if no one could see his attitude. The food was not worth the price. Never going there again and would not recommend to anyone.

we had a 6:30 reservation, only to discover a line of people down the street, all with 6-630 reservations. Apparently they overbooked so much, seatings were over an hour past reservation times. Eventually we were convinced to go to the sister restaurant next door which had the same price fixe menu. We were seated right away, but then served an awful, tasteless meal of reheated salmon and some kind of green mush trying to pass as risotto.

The line was one the door. We made reservations at 6 and showed up at 550. the line was out the door and we didn't get sited until 652. Management didn't let anyone know what was going on and when ask to cancel and waive the cancelation fee, they refused. I understand that it was valentines day but to not let people cancel was more then a little upsetting. Management needs to learn how to run that business a little better. For them to be that backed up and not let people cancel was not the right thing. I will never be returning to this business.

Worst experience ever. They completely overbooked the place for Valentine’s Day. We arrived at 6 for our reservation and there was a line of maybe 30 people ahead of us. Management was nowhere to be found. Then when we finally got to the hostess stand at 6:30 we were told it would be another 30-40 minutes possibly before getting seated. We did choose a table out on the patio where they were just letting people in the waiting line stand there, blocking us from waiters.

Our FIRST time coming here and it’s Valentine’s Day....HIGHLY DONT RECOMMEND. I had reservations for 6pm and we weren’t seated until 6:45. We have a fixed menu for the evening and my husbands, as well as the gentleman RIGHT BESIDE US, both had their 20oz steak arrive COLD. It is supposed to be a two hour meal but here we are at 9:04 still trying to get our bill. MAYBE it’s because it’s Valentine’s Day....but still. For ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS A PLATE NOT INCLUDING DRINKS......I’m highly unimpressed and don’t recommend. I feel robbed, COMPLETELY.

I will never ever dine at Greystone again. They required a $30 deposit to make a reservation for Valentine’s Day, which I sort of understand. But when we arrived at our designated time of 6pm, we found that they had screwed up their entire reservation system and had severely overbooked. At least forty people were in line in front of us, all with reservations. We had to wait AN HOUR in line before even getting seated. When I told them about fifteen minutes into waiting that I was going to leave and wanted my $30 deposit returned, they said if I left they would keep my $30! What a sad way to run a business. They cannot run a reservation system properly and yet refused to let all of us out of our reservations. (I heard numerous other patrons in line complaining and wanting their deposits returned, to no avail.)
Then our steaks were undercooked but we were too aggravated to send them back and wait even longer. The entire night was a disaster. Never again.

My review only includes the check in process since we ended up cancelling the reservation last minute. Reason being, they made an oversight and overbooked the seating resulting in overlapping reservations leading to long wait times and delays making a lot of people who made reservations frustrated. We luckily found an open slot in another location nearby meaning we have to cancel and just absorbing the cancellation fee. I hope their management will take this as a lesson and make sure it doesn’t happen again. I would maybe go back and try again but maybe not for a very long time.

Found the steak and seafood excellent especially paired with the right sides. Waitress was very attentive and staff had no problem handling any and all request. Though it being Valentines Day and a bit chaotic everyone still seemed to move in harmony with taking care of their stations and tables along with helping each other out with theirs

Never got side dish or coffee & my husband was asked to leave the table, while I went to the restroom. He was told, there was a 2 hour limit, while we had been there less than 90 minutes.

The dinner was fantastic. However, the pricing was very odd. I am a private chef and deal with exotic meats all the time. Also, some higher-end restaurants will discount glasses of wine to the price of a bottle when the customer goes way over, we were still charged by the glass. Overall great food, service, and atmosphere but extremely pricey. I would go back, just was a little discouraged.

The food was delicious but the service was terrible. We didn’t get check on the manger took our check book with out us even paying yet. We felt really pressured to leave bc it seemed like they wanted to turn around our table for other guest. Drink weren’t refilled and food came late. The server even took my dates salad plate mid chewing, with out asking if she was done. Which by the way she was not. If the food wasn’t soo good the place would not be worth the dining experience.
