Greendale Farm Shop Cafe and Restaurant
Once you've eaten why not take a stroll along our family farm trail. The trails follow a level path that’s just right for pushchairs and little legs; you can potter over to feed the friendly chickens and ducks, visit Oscar the curious Ostrich and maybe take our vintage tractors for an imaginary ‘test drive’.

Great evening....heavy rain on verandah roof does make conversation more challenging!!
Lovely staff, fab fresh fish, and good sized portions!
Love it here but this was the first time I thought the chip ratio was out and bruised chips on the plate not pretty. But still highly recommended
Music was too loud and spoilt the ambience.
Get rid of it, no likes to eat and socialise with friends while competing with music more suitable for the teenage staff.
Music would put me off coming again. Pity, food and service was good. So would not recommend because of the music
Lovely place, very busy but plenty of staff, great food.
Very disappointed visit on Saturday morning.
3 of us ordered omelettes with onions, cheese and ham. When they arrived there was no ham to be seen in any of them. Questioned a server and they said it was in there. We had 2 pieces in each one. No apologises or anything.
Also one of them was a completely different colour to the other two, like it had been over done or reheated. This one also had very little cheese.
We have been before and the omelettes have had a side salad and coleslaw with it. Yesterday this did not happen. For £7 per omelette we were all very disappointed.
Always a great breakfast and good value.
Granddaughter loves the play area and seeing the animals after.
The fish and chips are the best for miles around. Good value for money, very clean, lovely staff.
Excellent. Great food, very tasty and hot when served.
Annoying that crumble doesn’t include custard! You have to pay extra for it!
overall a very good experience staff were helpful and food was prompt the only thing i could advise is more coleslaw on the plates rather than in little paper pots as it was literally a table spoon if that
Excellent especially with people that need extra help and extra time. Thank you.
My daughter and I went for breakfast, abit of confusion about where to wait to be seated,we enjoyed quick service and lovely food.
Staff where a little slow at taking our order and we had to wait a while. However food still lovely as usual
I normally love any excuse to go to Greendale. It's a fab place for any meal, especially the fish and chips, and a great place to take the kids. However I was pretty disappointed this visit.
We opted for breakfast, which we noted is "made to order" and noticed on the Veggie breakfast that sautéed potatoes are an option, though not noted on the meat full English. I asked if I could remove 2 items and replace with the potatoes. Was told no because of the price difference. I asked if I could pay for the potatoes and again was told no. I partly understand this bit also I do think that that's a bit rigid, especially as they then forgot one of the items on my breakfast! Nearly £8 for 1 sausage, 2 bacon and beans was certainly a moment.
The service is pretty poor at the moment too as they seem to have hired a huge amount of young new staff. Nothing wrong with this and I congratulate the company for giving young people a job, but I stood waiting to be seated (at the Please Wait to Be Seated sign) and was ignored by at least 5 people who I looked and smiled at directly. No one said hello or just one moment or anything, so some customer service training would go a long way.
I will be back to Greendale, because I love it so much, but it was just a bit disappointing experience this time around. Maybe I'll just stick to the takeaway fish and chips next time!
Sadly, the policy for playing continuous music at an irritating volume is persisting. Every customer in the busy restaurant is forced to talk even louder over each other and the music, creating an unpleasant unrelaxing atmosphere. Music at this style of establishment isn't needed at all. We sat beneath the new outside terrace which is a great addition. The food was good and service OK.
Very slow service seemed very dis-organised no one seemed in charge
We waited an hour for our food.
When it arrived, I had ordered a croissant and when I asked about the jam and butter it was supposed to come with was just told there wasn’t anything. I asked if there was any other condiments (marmalade) and again told there was nothing.
Beautiful view, food was absolutely delicious
Only critic is food took nearly 1 hour - but once served was very tasty
On this occasion our meal & service was disappointing !
The food was excellent and the price was very reasonable but the staff were rude and everything we asked for seemed to be to much like hard work as there was an excuse for everything we asked for not very accommodating
Really good for families. Not too overly priced. Food pretty good but not amazing. We were sat near a speaker and the music was a bit loud.
Overall good and would go back.
Food was good long wait for service as new starters there mix up with drinks order under age servers
Service was really poor. Our drinks took 20 minutes to arrive, then when our food eventually came, the order was wrong and we had to wait agin to get cutlery.
We booked lunch here from my grandmothers recommendation. When we arrived three girls were by the till talking to themselves and with their backs to us. After a few minutes waiting I had to say excuse me and get one of their attention to acknowledge us.
When we ordered we had to pay straight away which was very unexpected and was quite disappointing as I had hoped to treat my grandmother to lunch and pay myself later however I couldn’t do this.
I ordered the ploughman’s and it was unfortunately not very nice. The cheese looked off, the bread roll was stale. The salad had no dressing. I was expecting fresh bread as they sell fresh bread in the farm shop. I asked the waitress for butter twice to go alongside the bread and I never received it. The waitress also didn’t check back to see if everything was okay which is why I was unable to say how unhappy I was with my food. Overall I would not go here again, which is a shame as the outdoor seating is lovely. It seemed like they have a lot of young and inexperienced staff who maybe needed someone to oversee them better.
Staff were initially stressed and blunt but some were friendly. Food was tasty but chips were cold. Music was so loud you couldn't hear anything! I'm a regular customer and greendale has definitely been better!
Ordered food and paid beforehand. Waitress told us they were out of what we had ordered. She then came back and said they were out of the drink we’d ordered too. No comment on price change/difference.
Food that we did have was brilliant, as always.
Lovely dining area, good awareness of Covid precautions.
Fabulous menu, efficient and friendly staff, outstanding.
It was ok but had to wait a long time for drinks and food to arrive , staff were nice and helpful
Excellent amd friendly service from Mete. My friends and I are frequent customers at Greendale and there have been occassions in recent weeks where the service was slow and not quite up to their usual standard (toast not received woth breakfast) however, his time we were not disappointed. The service was quick and we were offered water, which was a nice touch.
Service was a bit rushed only just finished our meal when questioned if we had paid
The food is pretty yummy here but the service is not great. The staff are always a sandwich short of a full picnic.
Great fresh locally sourced food, friendly service with a nice ambience
Had a great breakfast - really enjoyed it. Food delicious
Ran by teenagers, didn’t feed back for food just came and cleared plates with out asking
We love coming to Greendale. It's great to be able to bring our dogs. We sat at table 108 which was perfect for our needs. It got rather warm and oppressive when the sun came out as there's no air circulation. Could do with some fans to make it a more pleasant experience on a warn day.
Great lunch. Thank you! Emily was excellent taking orders etc
Good food, friendly service.
Good food and competitivly priced. However too hot outside as roof and screens don't let a breeze in.
Service was awful, not very friendly staff. Had to ask several times for missing items from our order.
No apology or concern it would appear.
The service was good but elements of the food were disappointing.
Specifically, for a farm shop and cafe the pre-cooking of jacket potatoes and their subsequent reheating is poor, as is the fact that there is a ration of said potatoes. I wanted to order the gammon but you can’t exchange the allocated chips accompaniment for a jacket potato because they have pre-cooked a set number of them. Come on guys, you’re a restaurant in a farm shop. Freshly cook the jacket spuds and go and get some more from the shop if you’re short.
