Greendale Farm Shop Cafe and Restaurant
Once you've eaten why not take a stroll along our family farm trail. The trails follow a level path that’s just right for pushchairs and little legs; you can potter over to feed the friendly chickens and ducks, visit Oscar the curious Ostrich and maybe take our vintage tractors for an imaginary ‘test drive’.

On this occasion our meal & service was disappointing !
The food was excellent and the price was very reasonable but the staff were rude and everything we asked for seemed to be to much like hard work as there was an excuse for everything we asked for not very accommodating
Really good for families. Not too overly priced. Food pretty good but not amazing. We were sat near a speaker and the music was a bit loud.
Overall good and would go back.
Food was good long wait for service as new starters there mix up with drinks order under age servers
Service was really poor. Our drinks took 20 minutes to arrive, then when our food eventually came, the order was wrong and we had to wait agin to get cutlery.
We booked lunch here from my grandmothers recommendation. When we arrived three girls were by the till talking to themselves and with their backs to us. After a few minutes waiting I had to say excuse me and get one of their attention to acknowledge us.
When we ordered we had to pay straight away which was very unexpected and was quite disappointing as I had hoped to treat my grandmother to lunch and pay myself later however I couldn’t do this.
I ordered the ploughman’s and it was unfortunately not very nice. The cheese looked off, the bread roll was stale. The salad had no dressing. I was expecting fresh bread as they sell fresh bread in the farm shop. I asked the waitress for butter twice to go alongside the bread and I never received it. The waitress also didn’t check back to see if everything was okay which is why I was unable to say how unhappy I was with my food. Overall I would not go here again, which is a shame as the outdoor seating is lovely. It seemed like they have a lot of young and inexperienced staff who maybe needed someone to oversee them better.
Staff were initially stressed and blunt but some were friendly. Food was tasty but chips were cold. Music was so loud you couldn't hear anything! I'm a regular customer and greendale has definitely been better!
Ordered food and paid beforehand. Waitress told us they were out of what we had ordered. She then came back and said they were out of the drink we’d ordered too. No comment on price change/difference.
Food that we did have was brilliant, as always.
It was ok but had to wait a long time for drinks and food to arrive , staff were nice and helpful
Excellent amd friendly service from Mete. My friends and I are frequent customers at Greendale and there have been occassions in recent weeks where the service was slow and not quite up to their usual standard (toast not received woth breakfast) however, his time we were not disappointed. The service was quick and we were offered water, which was a nice touch.
Service was a bit rushed only just finished our meal when questioned if we had paid
The food is pretty yummy here but the service is not great. The staff are always a sandwich short of a full picnic.
Great fresh locally sourced food, friendly service with a nice ambience
Had a great breakfast - really enjoyed it. Food delicious
Ran by teenagers, didn’t feed back for food just came and cleared plates with out asking
We love coming to Greendale. It's great to be able to bring our dogs. We sat at table 108 which was perfect for our needs. It got rather warm and oppressive when the sun came out as there's no air circulation. Could do with some fans to make it a more pleasant experience on a warn day.
Great lunch. Thank you! Emily was excellent taking orders etc
Good food, friendly service.
Good food and competitivly priced. However too hot outside as roof and screens don't let a breeze in.
Service was awful, not very friendly staff. Had to ask several times for missing items from our order.
No apology or concern it would appear.
The service was good but elements of the food were disappointing.
Specifically, for a farm shop and cafe the pre-cooking of jacket potatoes and their subsequent reheating is poor, as is the fact that there is a ration of said potatoes. I wanted to order the gammon but you can’t exchange the allocated chips accompaniment for a jacket potato because they have pre-cooked a set number of them. Come on guys, you’re a restaurant in a farm shop. Freshly cook the jacket spuds and go and get some more from the shop if you’re short.
A great experience as always at Greendale.
The only downside was that we were in the outdoor seating area and sat very close to a speaker with music blaring out. It made it a little tricky having a conversation as the person I was with is a little hard of hearing.
The food was excellent though.
Very disappointed. Took us 2 hours to get 2 courses plus coffee. Ordered and paid for desert and coffee. Asked for receipt. Didn t get one. Then told we had not ordered a desert. Eventually got sorted out. Service appallingly slow.
Also bought a mango which we have had to throw away uneaten. Some of it was poor and the rest was unripe.
We did not buy much fruit and veg as intended. Despite being top priced, the quality was very poor. Will think twice about travelling 75 miles again for the pleasure of your company!
Waiting staff very friendly and efficient. Coffees hot and delicious.
Poached egg on toast, very tasty and reasonable value, very enjoyable.
We were shown to table, not asked about drinks. After 15 minutes we caught a waitress attention.
Rest of the evening was perfect food lovely
Excellent fish and chip, good service, value got money.
Had lunch and was good value, will certainly return one evening
Great relaxing lunch with a great choice of food and drink.
Good food, brilliant staff, lovely immediate environment but a bit of a feel of being a road side location only accessible by car. As a farm the countryside location could be exploited more. It would be great to see this restaurant feature as a stop on the walking and cycle trail. This would really help its sense of rural setting. At the moment its a little blighted by the car park, cars generally and being 'roadside', not countryside.
We have really enjoyed greendale every time we've been. Especially the fish, curry and burger evenings Greendale ran during lockdown. Thank you.
Can’t fault the food but it was very hard to hear the waitress due to the noise level and mask wearing. I also have to mention the awful cutlery! The prices you are charging you could afford much better that don’t cut into your hand as they are short and and uncomfortable to hold. Will seriously bring my own next time.
My salad however was delicious and my husband had the ploughman’s which he loved so much we bought some cheese from the deli
Always delicious ingredients from the farm shop. Hot plates, great for outdoor seating!
Friendly staff and service.
Jacket potato was burnt. Other food was really nice. Screaming kids was a problem. Maybe have a small child area. Not your fault, but put us off coming again. Not a place for an adult Sunday lunch
We were seated in the middle of the inside seating area, which we found disappointingly noisy with general hubbub of other diners. Furnishings to lessen the sound were not in evidence. We had quite a wait for our meals, but appreciate that the restaurant was very busy. My club sandwich was quite nice but an unnecessarily large portion, which completely defeated me. I had expected our experience to be of a more relaxed/gentile nature in a Farm Shop setting, but found the ambience lacking and we were not inclined to linger once we had eaten. We do not feel inclined to rush back, unfortunately.
Took ages before they took our order, then a long wait for drinks which we'd finished along time before our food came which was mostly over cooked. Staff all young barely communicated, and in the end we had to get our money back on one breakfast as it was missed off and we didn't want to wait any longer.
Food was excellent, service was good a bit noisy, but to be expected overall would recommend and definitely be back
Unfortunately our food was not of a good standard. Very overcooked. Three of us waited a long 45 minutes for our breakfasts. The third came out wrong twice and finally arrived 7 minutes after the 1st plate so we didn’t eat together. We left a lot on our plates but no one came to check if all was ok. We are local regulars that won’t be returning.
Good is always good, but did not eat this time
Fabulous shop selling top quality local produce.
Butchers is amazing
We had a meal in the restaurant and it was really really good.
Highly recommended 👏👏👏
We were very disappointed after waiting an hour for two vegan salad bowl to arrive I had to ask where it was.
Hope this doesn’t happen again if we return.
