Staff was great, and food was wonderful. Private room for a "covid-safe" family business dinner. Superb waitstaff - we'll be back!
Very good food and excellent service
The dinner only added to an already amazing stay. The food and service were impeccable.
We were greeted warmly at the entrance and shown to our table on the glass enclosed patio with a view of the grounds: lovely. The table was beautifully set and the service was gracious.
Two of us selected the "Manor" menu and took the sea bass option: it was delicious! Our third member took the fish and chips and pronounced them the best he had ever had.
The liquor and wine selections were very good and included top of the line liquor selections.
We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would recommend it for fine dining
A far cry from fine dining due to the service alone; however, the location and food were as delightful as expected. While the service was not without great effort, like the dining chairs, they are accustomed to catering events and not a la carte dining.
Birthday.....beautiful facility, 5 tables in one area and it was loud with other guests talking. The service was slow, one person waiting on 5 tables. The food was good.
This night is not the norm for us, but I wanted to share what happened. We took some good friends from Alaska for dinner on Saturday. Everything was up to expectations until we ordered. Our waiter came in and apologized and said the computer did not pick up on of our orders, and he was expediting another on while our food waited. They had both ordered the manor dinner which included the filet, but when they finally brought all of our food, one guest received the filet, but the other received a steak that resembled a NY strip, which wasn't even on the menu. So we had to send that one back and wait again for her dinner. We were compensated for both of these mishaps with 2 free desserts and a full price charge for the dinner that was messed up twice.
Saying this, we will go back as we know this is the exception, not the norm, but to no avail I was a little upset for being charged full price
Overall, we had a lovely experience. The filet mignon could have been cooked a little bit more and I was not offered any more wine.
We got there and there was one server for everyone in the grill area maybe 6 tables we were told food needed to be served first we waited 45 minutes no service went to the dining room same thing one server two tables 45 minutes no menu no drink order. We left ....they were under prepared and not equipped to handle any dining service
What a fantastic place!!! Across from the Reynolda House and its own magnificence: inspired by Norman castles (with an actual piece moved from France), you'd easily think you're somewhere in Europe! We were on a patio pretty much by ourselves which was awesome for an anniversary celebration. Great and attentive service (Thanks, Jordan!). The food was good, not fabulous. Wines are appropriate in choice, quality and price.
Wonderful experience and fabulous food!
My daughter and son-in-law have been to your resort several times and have heartily recommended it. When I found I needed a medical appointment at Wake Forest, I knew this was our chance to see for ourselves. We were so pleasantly surprised upon our arrival right through our departure. Our dinner in the dining room was excellent and service was exemplary. Our room was luxurious and comfortable in the Manor House. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer and roam the grounds and explore the other buildings and surrounding sights. We will return because our appetite was truly whetted! Kudos!
It’s a lovely place to visit with lovely southern charm. I’m sure if you stay at the hotel it’s an exceptional dining experience however if you’re looking for a really good meal there are better choices. Our server was sweet and lovely and made for a nice evening. They didn’t have the wine we ordered which was disappointing but the replacement was good. Watch for the “specials” list...there are none, it’s only the menu changes for the evening. Menu is limited and food was slightly cold. We were comped dessert for our anniversary, which was nice. All and all it was a nice experience but we have no need to go back.
Graylyn was great (as always) but beware that they had not received our reservation made (and confirmed) through Open Table. We've done reservations to Graylyn through this site before without issue, but their staff said they have been having problems. I recommend Graylyn but suggest calling for reservations!
Front desk staff sat us since they couldn’t find a server to do it. No hostess? Front desk clerk didn’t know where to seat us even though only two tables were occupied out of six, but in fairness it wasn’t his job. No hostess?
When we did get seated, I had to ask for the wine list. The food was very good, but service and ambiance lacking.
Overall it’s pretty meh. Nothing here is clearly marked from parking to where the restaurant is. It looks like they have set up some tables in different parts of the common areas of the hotel. The food was pretty good-pricey but certainly doable. Service was slow, our server was nice but inconsistent. However, there is apparently a mandatory 20% gratuity even for a table of two so it’s not surprising that no one is striving to provide an excellent experience. All in all, it’s a nice building but I wouldn’t come back.
We went for our anniversary dinner. We had very attentive staff, and even received a special dessert for our anniversary. We plan on going back each year to celebrate with them. The scenery is beautiful, and we had an entire porch to ourselves for the night.
The waitress was very nice but she needed better training. She did not ask for our drinks order when we sat down. When she did, the drinks took a good while to get there. The food was good but not necessarily fabulous as we had hoped.
The ambience was lovely - understated elegance. The service was pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. The food was delectable, with nicely-sized portions. Altogether, the experience was immensely enjoyable!
Service was great and so was the food! We arrived a little late due to traffic and they were very accommodating. It was a quiet, lovely dinner on a Friday night with two people who enjoyed the atmosphere immensely. Later we took a walk with a tour guide who gave us some history on the place. It was super relaxing and enjoyable. Will definitely go back.
It was a wonderful evening with my family , good food and good wine.
I never eat poultry in restaurants, but the chicken I had was a real chicken meat, like we have in Europe.
My husband did enjoy the file minion and it happens not so often.
Next time I will try fish and chips hopefully it will be delicious not grease that happens most of the time .
Thank you for your hospitality

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences in the Piedmont-Triad!!!
We had a wonderful time and it was very relaxing. We will be back and bring our friends.
The overall experience was a delightful surprise. I look forward to another visit next time I'm in the area.
For being in such a small atmosphere the service was terrible, it took an unnecessary amount of time for the waitress to get anything done. The other two couples in the room with us were extremely rude and were yelling across the room to talk to each other. We also did not expect an already 20% tip to be added to our bill, we were only a table of 2. Overall the good food doesn’t outweigh the bad experience we had and we will not be returning or recommend to anyone
Service was poor. Ordered bottle of wine when ordered cocktails. Wine came after the entree after us asking for it 2x. Plus automatically added 20% gratuity, much more than would have left based on quality of service
My family and I had a fantastic dining experience!! I highly recommend!!!!
Great place for a special occasion! Very intimate setting
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Graylin and our dinner was absolutely wonderful. The food, service and ambiance was exceptional! Highly recommended.
It made us feel like we were in Europe, five star. We will try the bar and grill next time.
Food, service, ambiance were all very good. We went to Graylyn to celebrate our fifteenth wedding anniversary. Emailed Graylyn and spoke to a Graylyn representative by phone to ensure special attention for my wife. Was assured the special occasion would be noted but got nothing. Very disappointed. However the manager on duty was empathetic and made our evening memorable. Good job by him and Graylyn.
We absolutely love the romantic nature of the venue and the very friendly staff at this inn and restaurant. For a special occasion is is the perfect getaway. If you are interested in history, there is a wealth of stories about this historic home, and you can easily slip right back into the roaring twenties...
It was unforgettable experience dining in such beautiful, romantic quiet atmosphere with the family that was visiting from europe. Food and service was excellent
Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
I will be back for any event.
warm regards olga
We were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary and wanted a special dining experience. Graylyn was the perfect choice--beautiful setting, excellent food and service. We were even given a complimentary anniversary dessert!
We stayed at Graylyn and absolutely loved every aspect of this hotel and its restaurant. A couple next to us celebrated their anniversary. They were locals. This restaurant is charming and the grounds of Graylyn are exceptional.
They were a little pricey but gave us chocolate fudge for our Anniversary. Overall we loved it.
We had a wonderful visit and look forward to our next visit!!
They were catering a big wedding the same night. There was one server for all of the tables and little if any bus staff to help her. Needless to say the service was incredibly slow.
This is a fantastic place. The food and the service are wonderful. Strongly recommend!
Very disappointed. We seem to have been forgotten, and the food was mediocre, at best
