Grappa Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We should have listened to another guest at our hotel and rethought our decision. She mentioned she’s had a good experience, although her highly unfavorable experience outweighed it. While the food was quite delicious, the service was a stark difference. We were greeted by the hostess just fine, but our actual server never introduced himself and seemed to have an attitude in the rare event we had a request — at one instance rolling his eyes when we requested bread. Upon receiving the bill and paying, we were sent off by the no-named server with only a monotone “thank you” as opposed to adding “have a great evening” or an invitation to return despite having spent hundreds of dollars. We expected more and will not be dining here again as it didn’t fit what we expected to celebrate our special occasion and our first time in Park City.
We ate at Grappa on our first night of a two night stay in Park City. The food was fine, the drinks were fine, the service was fine (except for our server bring me caffeinated coffee when I ordered decaffeinated) I was up all night. But saying all that, it was just fine. Fine and expensive. When I spend $250+ for two people (two drinks, two appies, two entrées, two desserts, two glasses of wine) I expect a lot better than just fine.
My pasta (the bolognese) was really dry. My wife loved her pork entrée though. I should have sent mine back. The ambience was nice but the place around the edges was kind of dodgy. For instance when we were seated the hostess (who was really nice) asked me to wait a minute before sitting down so she could turn down the baseboard heater that was behind my chair. To do that she had to take off some duct tape (that was FILTHY) and get into the heater and then tape it back up again. Everything in the place seemed just a little dingy. Maybe it was just where we were sitting in the front window. Or maybe I just feel that when spend that kind of money, you should have a better experience.
Disappointed that I made a special call to make sure a little dessert with s candle was brought to our friend who was celebrating her birthday.
When we were seated the waiter said “who is the birthday girl “and then he totally forgot the surprise at the end which the manager said they would do when I called
Haven't been to Grappa in a while. Ben has certainly stepped up to the task and made the menu top notch. Even improved on the long standing local favorites. Imagine what Ben could do if given free reign to create what he is capable of creating. Bon Appetito.
For a pricey restaurant, service was slow and lacking. We had to ask for water. Every course was served without serving utensils. We had to ask several times for additional eating utensils. The meat was over cooked or under cooked. For the price, I expect the food to be cooked as requested. We had business guests from Chicago and we were embarrassed by the food and service. We will not take guest there again. We were glad they had a sense of humor and could laugh about it!
Everytime we visit Park City we make it a point to visit Grappa's. The food is amazing, mushroom soup the best I have ever had, Bolognese - delicious, and the ambiance is wonderful.
Don't forget dessert - last visit had some type of fruit galette that was so yummy.
Our second visit to Grappa. This is a unique restaurant with a lovely romantic atmosphere. The food quality was very good and tasty. The service was slow, whether taking drink orders, menu orders or bringing the check. For parties of three or more, there are some lovely table options. Unfortunately, for parties of two the table options are very limited, offering very small tables, mostly adjacent to columns that awkwardly invade your space. Lastly, the food is a little over priced in comparison to other quality restaurants.
The service was very disappointing ...not only was the waiter painfully slow, but when asked for more water, to order our entrees, etc. , he had an attitude. We were with another couple and we all commented on the service. My bolognese was cold as was my husband's. Not sure if it was the kitchen or the waiter picking up the dishes from the kitchen. Grappa is one of our favorites in Park City, but that evening was a real disappointment.
Had a nice evening with friends who were visiting from out of town. Sat on the patio and the only problem were some very pesty bees. But this is the beehive state, so not too much you can do about them!
Food was great! We shared appetizers, split salads. Everyone enjoyed their entrees.
Of course we will be back!
