The restaurant decor was nice. We ended up here because it was a Saturday night and they had Open Table availability so we tried it out.
Cleanliness: needs some attention to detail. Some dirty silverware and glasses were on our table. Floors needed to be cleaned up, not “dirty” but certainly not well kept.
Service: The service was “ok”. Nothing to write home about. Waitress was nice but not very attentive.
Food and value, I’ll group these together:
Appetizers: Bavarian pretzel was AWESOME. Beer battered fried cheese was AWESOME. The appetizers were better than most entrees.
Value of appetizers: I felt they were priced fairly.
BBQ chicken flatbread was very good. Value was ok.
Sirloin steaks: Fair. A little tough, but the prices were WAY OUT OF LINE. $22 for a 10oz sirloin, $34 for a small filet?! No value at all when it comes to their steak price vs quality.
Bacon Pepper burger: Very good! Pricing was fair.
Summary: it was ok, prices are high, quality was ok. Service was ok. Would we ever visit again? Doubtful.
Note: for a Saturday they were not too busy so our expectations for service were higher than what we got.
Food is excellent, service was good, except had to ask for drinks refills. I did request a birthday be celebrated on my open table reservations note, but that did not happen unfortunately 😔
Our waitress Amy was wonderful. The food seemed to keep running out, so many trips to the buffet to see if they replenished what we wanted/liked.
There are so many items on the menu, I want to keep going back to try everything. The food was very very good. Everyone liked their selections.
There was a funky smell at our table. I think possibly the table/booth was wiped down with a stinky cloth. I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap. The chicken was served cold, and the Ranch dressing was watered down.
Thanks great time great food
Love the Sunday Brunch! So many choices and they are always checking on the food to see what needs to be replenished! Such a great space for anything, large groups, meeting with friends, or just you and another person!
Made reservations and had to wait. Waitress was great but too much much too long to get our food.
7:15 reservation. Was told table would be ready in a few minutes. Left after waiting 30 minutes and watching people who arrived after us get seated
Granite City Food and Brewery is a great place to get together, since it accepts reservations. Our server was nice and the food was good.
Had a short business lunch at GC Brewery earlier this week. The service is always excellent, and was again this time. My only slightly negative comment is that the lunch combo of pasta and salad - the portions are a bit small. Maybe I'm used to over-the-top larger portions you can get at other restaurants - but I am a moderate eater - and honestly, could have used a little bit more. But overall, good experience.
Food and service was great. Had a few drinks at the bar before our reservation and Andrea was awesome
The restaurant was about half filled on a Sunday around 6pm. The food was tasteless and barely warm. The service was TERRIBLE. We waited 15 minutes before we saw a server. We got our entrees 20 minutes after ordering them but did not have our drinks until our food was almost gone. Also, the server forgot to order one of our entrees. I would not recommend this place to anyone for anything. I will never go back.
We go to Granite City Grill often. Great food, great service and very affordable.
Granite City Brrwery is one of our favorite restaurants. Love the atmosphere, waitresses are always pleasant, efficient and eager to make our dining perfect.
I rated the service low because the hostesses did not honor the open table reservation. Even though we had a reservation, she said they were on a wait, so we would be seated when she had a table. The closet behind the hostess station was wide open displaying a messy scene. The waiter was very good, but we had to wait a while to get dishes cleared and the Check, which I suspect was due to him having little help from other staff. The bottom line is if they are on Open Table, they should honor the reservation and the hostess staff should be more professional.
Nice waitress but appetizer and food came out at the same time. The food was all just average at best. I have really enjoyed eating there in the past but not so much this time.
Our reservation said it was in the bar area which we were fine with. When we got there she mentioned getting us a table in the dining area. I did not want that. I explained to her what the reservation was and she rudely said well I do not use that app and the bar area was open dining.
Jacob was outstanding. He was friendly, intelligent and prompt.
Great place I would recommend it to anyone. The only problem was your website says 17.99 for brunch my bill said 18.99. I am not one to squabble about a dollar but just a heads up someone might. We will be back definitely.
I invited 9 people on last visit. Our waitress Alona was excellent! Food was very good, but this visit it was warm, not hot. First time this has happened. One guest returned food for warming it up. First timers a little disappointed. I had a prime rib sandwich and slaw -- excellent. Also had loaded waffle fries for an appetizer (got free for BD). Glad I tried. Would never order and pay. Fries soggy and luke warm. Disappointing. I have eaten lunch here often alone and with friends. Never disappointed. One of my favorite restaurants. Still is even after a disappointing Sunday visit. Food for large groups needs to be prepared more timely to keep it hot.
The service was good but the potatoes were barely warm and over loaded with potato skin . I like including the whole potato, skin and all but seem like too much!
While our server was attentive, it took 45 minutes from the time we placed our order to have it delivered. Our server kept in touch and assured us several times that it was on the way. Near the end, he said it was in the window and he would go get it. After a few minutes, we saw him going to the front desk for some reason. After about 10 minutes, the order was delivered. The food was good an hot, but we were very disappointed in how long it took to be delivered.
Food seemed to be a bit over-priced, for what we got. I left still hungry. Service was average, nothing to write home about. General experience, I probably would pick another restaurant next time.
We made a reservation for my birthday. We were seated and then waited 20 minutes without a server coming to our table. No water, no drinks, no welcome and they continued to serve others that were seated after us. We finally got up and walked out.
Fantastic! Good all around- service, pricing, food -variety and quality.
Will definitely return !
Service was very slow. Took 40 minutes for food at a non peak time and food came out cold. The prime rib sandwich was basically bread. Very little meat. My husband was not satisfied.
The server was fabulous. The food was terrible. It was dry and overcooked.
Awesome place! Had great service and great food. We have been here several times and are always happy with the food and service.
Our waitress was very friendly. She had been assigned 4 tables all at once but despite that was still smiling and delivered excellent service.
Of the 4 of us dining, one person's pasta was rated excellent. One person's buffalo wrap was EXTREMELY spicy - like lips going numb spicy. (It required a lot of ranch dressing to kill the heat). One person's spinach artichoke chicken sandwich was just ok and not all that flavorful like you'd expect. Last diner's burger was good but not "great".
Considering the prices of the beers and food we were expecting more. We probably wouldn't go back for dinner....maybe drinks and appetizers if they offered a happy hour special or something.
A bit pricey for what you get. An ice tea or soda shouldn't be $3 and other items are expensive for what you get.
Celebrate Fathers Day
Everyone enjoyed their meal. Pasta could have had a little more seasoning, but it was very tasty. They accommodated some minor changes we wanted to make to one of the dishes. We were a group of six and everyone was pleased with their meal. Service was a bit slow, which was kind of surprising seeing as how the restaurant was not as full as it normally is during the week. Side salad was huge. Our server, Robert, was very friendly, but not overbearing.
Overall very pleased.
Food was just OK and for party of 4 bill was over $100 with only 3 of 4 ordering beer. Left underwhelmed, and probably won't return.
Enjoyable place with friends to eat drink socialize.
Everything was good
Also I need to know where did you guys get the white sauces for serving the coffee in
I need 12 ea.
Fast prompt service
Fantastic wait staff, Cheryl was outstanding and her trainee will be a great addition to the staff
Food well what can I say super
Beer oh yes
I would have preferred a larger dessert variety than just doughnuts but the scones were good.
Brunch was great. We had a really good time and we enjoyed the variety of foods.
