   We were the first ones in the restaurant which felt a little odd at first but gave us a chance to get to know our waiter, Todd. He didn’t try to upsell us. He was honest with his favorites and opinions. We had a lot of fun chatting with him and learning about the Chef and restaurant. The food. I will struggle to tell you how good some of it was. Don’t get me wrong, it was all delicious. But the tri tip appetizer with cheesy grits was suggested as Todd’s overall favorite. I know why - it was absolutely to die for. My husband and I share everything, so we also had the toasted oysters. They were warm, light, and the perfect pairing with the heavier tri tips and grits. As a main courses, we had the fried chicken and one of the seasonal fish. While both were great, the fried chicken was exactly what we (as northerners) were hoping for with a little southern fried chicken. We had no room for dessert but would guess it has to be as good as the rest.

   This was our first time at Granddam, and it was delightful. My husband and I enjoyed a small charcuterie board and tri-tip sandwich, and everything was excellent. The service was great and the decor / ambiance was perfect. Will definitely be returning!

   Food was great, only complaint is that it took SO long to get. We enjoy Grandam and the different foods and options compared to other Lexington establishments and our waiter was great, but, it wasn’t crowded at all and shouldn’t have taken so long for what we ordered.

    Tri Tripp appetizer was good, but trout was not good and the ribeye was raw.. The service was excellent though.
