Dirty tables. Poor service.
Blackened sheepshead with crawfish sauce was magnificent as was the Fishermen's Stew.
Food was very good. Restaurant wasn’t very busy for a Saturday night. Some of the portions were small for the price.
Fasia was the best🤎 (please excuse if I misspelled her name.)
Amazing service with delicious fresh food. Definitely recommend
Last meal of being in NO and I wasn’t disappointed. Had the chargrilled oysters which were fresh and tasty. The Shrimp juju which was my favorite and the Redfish with jasmine rice and spinach and it was pretty tasty as well. The sweet tea was an added treat because it was sweet just like I like it. I’d come back.
Great grilled and fried oysters. Server Tia very helpful.
Server was great food and drinks were great !!! We’ll be back!!!
Waitress brought out baked fish vs. fried (her mistake) and they wouldn’t allow us to switch to what we really ordered.
The food was outstanding, only surpassed by the excellent service provided by Faija. She was incredibly prompt, informative, very personable and friendly. Highly recommend!
Our service was amazing! The out-of-towers in our party loved the local variety. Will come back again soon.
Unfortunately they were very short staff, which was the first restaurant in New Orleans we visited in our 3 days there that had this issue. As a result the experience wasn’t great, however the food was good. We asked to sit outside, which they were unable to accommodate due to their staffing shortage. They ran out of soft shell crabs which I had ordered, however the oysters and oyster Po’Boy I ordered was great! The fish stew outstanding! It took about 10 minutes to get silverware brought to us after our appetizers were delivered, our poor server was hustling but it was hard for her to keep up. I’m certain I’m better times I would have rated this 5 stars for all. The staff was certainly friendly and honest about the situation. I’d return again even with all the issues!
Best food I have had in a LONG time plus our server was amazing!!!! Highly recommend eating here
great food great service, wonderful drinks and outstanding hospitality
Amazing time. Quiet. Clean. Great food.
Great birthday dinner experience!
Great Saturday night dinner before heading next door to Harrah's. Service was excellent and so was the food. Will definitely be back.
Every part of the meal was excellent. Our server Jodie did an amazing job and helped guide us to the perfect selections. For a change from seafood, I tried the ribs and they were outstanding. Fall off the bone tender, with a sauce that hinted of teriyaki and sesame. Great surprise! Best food of our trip but less costly than many places. The hot crab dip appetizer is a MUST
Grand Isle is largely a seafood place -- and its seafood is outstanding. Our raw and broiled oysters were so good that we kept ordering them. Its gumbo compares well with the best in New Orleans. The restaurant is large with an outdoor seating area but well laid-out so it's seldom crowded and noisy -- a great attraction for people who want to be able to hear their dining partners. It has a small bar and the section of the restaurant near the bar has four or five television sets tuned to sports events but muted. Our waitress, Faysha, somehow maintained a sparkling personality even as she hustled about making sure everyone was tended to frequently. It's a perfect place for lunch or dinner close to Harrah's casino and the hotels at the base of Canal and Poydras streets. Very comfortable and informal.
I absolutely love this place, the food was amazing!! Totally loved the crawfish balls!
Our server was great! She offered suggestions that were helpful! A great dining experience.
The service was absolutely terrifying.
Im sure its because of lack of employees BUT come on.
Waited at least 15 mins to get attended an additional 30 mins for drinks. Hostess was nice enough to take out order. Other customers had to get their own water and utensils from a table. Server skipped our table, but her went around to help other tables needed by. Very poor service, don’t recommend.
Food was good. Not great. Beautiful restaurant. Got the idea things are still recovering in NOLA downtown near Fulton
Yum, yum, yum!
The oysters grilled were delish.
The redfish grilled just right.
Food was okay-ish, but enjoyed the place and great service!
Good good, great service. Was charged 20% gratuity automatically, which I’m sure is because of the pandemic but with only two people dining it was a little surprising.
The food was very good and the wait staff was excellent!
Food and service was great! I realize finding help is hard, though I didn’t appreciate the automatic 20% Fee added for their servers. A Tip is to show the sever how they are doing!!! I normally Tip 20+%, though being forced to if you want to eat here, is a tad drastic!
Great service and food!
1st time having charboiled oysters, they were absolutely delicious! A must have. Our server Ernest was wonderful. Very attentive and helpful. Great experience overall.
Stop thinking about it and book your reservation NOW! Cocktails were tasty and potentially and everything on the menu is yummy!
Food and drinks were excellent!!
From its location, I assumed it was a tourist trap - and that is the clientele. But the seafood was fresh and tasty. I had the roasted oysters, which were a little over cooked and had too much cheese, but were ok, and the shrimp boil, which was excellent.
Grand isle has great food and great drinks!! The awakening cocktail was my favorite. Got the blackened fish for dinner and it was amazing!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our experience from start to finish. Our friendly server Jolanda was attentive and offered suggestions for us. We all enjoyed our food and signature cocktails! We would definitely eat here again!
5 of us ate here and every person Loved their food! Everything was perfect. Very clean and service was great!!
Probably would have given it a 5 star, but one our party ordered a chicken Caesar salad an it was literally two stalks of uncut romaine and the grilled chicken/croutons in separate pikes. Basically had to make his own salad……..for $16. Last thing you want to do when you sit down to relax for a meal. Besides that, food was excellent. Salmon was perfect, chargrilled corn/jalapeño grits amazing, crab dip and spicy shrimp appetizers deliciously.
Our waiter messed up our appetizer order (put in something totally different than what we asked for) and then looked at us like it was our fault like "what do you want me to do about it?" Then I noticed the pasta said "head-on" shrimp and I made the comment in front of our waiter I didn't want shrimp with eyes, so I ordered the 1/2lb shrimp boiled (it did not say head-on). My meal came out with eyes... but I chalked that up to my mistake for not clarifying and asking. I ate maybe 2 bites, and my daughter was kind enough to switch meals which we did not finish. Then the bill came, the waiter put in for a pound of the boil and when I questioned him his response was 'I put in a pound' I said Well I asked for a half pound and to be honest I didn't even eat it because it had eyes. He continued to say "but you got a pound"... because I know I weigh my food when I get it. After a few exchanges, he asked what I wanted, I said I would like to pay for what I ordered. I said he could have what I put in a to go container if he wants. The manager came over and said she'd charge me for my meal but would need the rest of the food back, so I unpacked what I didn't leave on the plate and turned it over.
I've worked in restaurants and eaten in them all over the country and never in my life have I been treated as if a waiter's mistakes were my fault, not just by the waiter but by the manager as well. While the taste of the food was good, it did not make up for the horrible treatment. There are plenty of other great restaurants to eat at and I recommend finding one of those.
I will mention that the hostess was very pleasant and kind and was the only good part of the experience.
