Grand Island Mansion
We love the Grand Island Mansion and have been there several times. Did not think the food was as good as our prior visits.
Never a disappointment, always a crowd pleaser - this is a regular dining experience.
I would recommend that your small bathrooms be updated and cleaned.
way over priced for what it is, as far as food... could have way better food selections... like an actual omelette station, waffle/pancakes etc ...
great food; great service; fun atmosphere; beautiful setting
The Grand Island Mansion iwas a beautiful place when we got married there 18 years ago. It has only improved with time. The service & food has remained excellent.
It was my birthday and the staff treated me like a queen. The good was delicious. I recommend people try at least once.
The best brunch in Sacramento County. This is a very fun experience, in a the unique setting.
Group of friends get-together
Beautiful venue and such a perfect Sunday Brunch. We enjoyed the gardens, the food and the professional, friendly staff. We also thought it was good value moneywise
The food was very good as it always has been. The service was also very good but could have been more attentive, refills came a little slower. Our guest enjoyed the experience although we had chosen the date due to the expectation that it was to be an open house day and we wanted our guest to see all of the rooms since they, like us, have daughters who may like to consider Grand Island as a wedding destination. Sadly, only the usual three rooms were available. They left very excited about the venue and the beauty of the mansion. We will return.
This was a birthday treat for a relative. Very enjoyable but food needs to be hotter
Pretty noisy for us, but lovely drive, gorgeous surroundings and good food. Service was terrific
Beautiful building and grounds. So nice to see it so well maintained. The food presentation, quality and selection was fabulous.
My wife and I have been here a few times. If you have never visited, it is an outstanding location for a Sunday brunch. A palatial mansion built in 1920, and very well kept up. A self guided tour is outstanding.
Now, to the brunch.. The cost of $39.95 is high; however, considering the ambiance, I would guess still a bit high. The most disappointing thing about the brunch, is the lack of many choices. No bagels, no smoked salmon, no different dishes. Egg dishes, prime rib and potatoes and a veggie. Many different desert choices...Etc...
The service is outstanding, pouring mimosas whenever your glass runs low and very attentive.
Wonderful experience! Beautiful venue and food was delish!
We were greeted by a lovely hostess and served by two wonderful servers. The food selection/menu wasn’t that great with burnt bacon and frittata instead of plain eggs. The salad was very plain and the overall food items just didn’t go together. We enjoyed the tour of the grounds and would definitely recommend at least a one time visit to our family, friends and colleagues. Thank you.
This was our 2nd visit and did not disappoint. Gorgeous grounds, friendly staff with good service and good food.
Let's not forget the lovely mimosas!
We would go back there again and certainly have recommended it to our friends.
I would recommends that on very busy days with large parties, there should be a 2nd person at the front check-in area, helping with seating the clients. There was a lot of congestion in the foyer and many people asked " so what do we do now?", because the hostess was busy in the dining room and gone for quite a while.
This is not a reflection on the hostess, she was very nice and did the best she could.
The mansion is beautiful, the buffet has a wonderful variety of dishes; and the staff are fantastic. Consider visiting during the holidays for great family photos!
This was a great selection for my birthday brunch--wonderful food, a table with a view to the pool, and the best servers I have encountered in a long time. Among the not-to-be-missed food selections are the frittata, eggs Benedict, the prime rib, and pretty much everything on the impressive dessert table (altho the creme brulee was my favorite).
Always amazing food and service
Beautiful place, excellent food good customer service,
Excellent Sunday Brunch. The staff was the best. We took our daughter here for her 21st Birthday. The food was fantastic. Touring GIM was simply amazing. We plan to make this a yearly event. We also plan to celebrate my 65th birthday here in December...
Overall, it was a passant experience. However, food was a tad on bland side and I felt for the price, the selection wasn’t that great. Maybe offer a chicken dish of some sort to give some variety. Probably first and last time for brunch.
It was a fantastic buffet the food was delicious, fresh and attractive. Quite a variety lots of choices! And the desserts were fabulous too!!!!
We had a birthday celebration and the waiters sang and brought out a slice of cake with candle for the birthday person.
Wonderful! Staff was accommodating with our special requests, food was delicious, and the grounds were beautiful!
Usually at a brunch the food is less than stellar
but the Sunday brunch we had there everything was DELICIOUS!
Will be back for sure
Nothing beats the ambience of GIM. I was totally surprised with the small brunch buffet. I truly was expecting something much grander to go along with the name of the place. However, if the cost of the buffet sustains the mansion, I am okay with it.
PS ~ the attendant carving the beef was shaking the table so much that the au jus came very close to spilling!
The mansion is spectacular and breath taking. The service was exceptional, simply perfect! The food was delicious. Each item was a specialty dish and very memorable. Everyone in our party could not stop talking about how amazing this brunch was.
The Grand island Manson holds a special place in our hearts as we got married there in June of 2016. We return every year for our anniversary brunch and the food and experience never disappoints us!
My family and I had a great time celebrating my mom 60th bday
Food is always delicious! Beautiful setting . I always feel like royalty there!
I have not been there since I was young and I loved it then and I still love it today . It was a great experience and pleasure to share it with my 9and 10 year old. My fiancé and i are thinking of getting married at the Grand . Thank you
Brittany( the hostess) and the wait staff was AMAZING this was my 2nd time coming out to the mansion I just had to bring my girlfriends and they loved it as much as I did. Definitely worth returning
Our sixth year celebrating Father's Day at the mansion. Great food in an incredible atmosphere. The service is exceptional. We had a party of twenty-four at two tables. Our family just loves this place!
Very interesting venue. Feels very elegant and special. Food was well prepared for the brunch with a good variety, but not exotic (to me a good thing). Not sure what sparkling wine was used, but the Mimosa's were very good (orange juice used was good too) and replenished regularly. For the cost and the food/atmosphere I thought it was a good deal.
My experience was horrible. Given that I drove from roughly hr and a half away. I ran into some accidents on the way and was running behind schedule. I started calling GIM an hour before the reservation time to notify them of the situation and I called 6 time over the next hour to get a hold of GIM and no luck. I didn't leave a message because I wanted to connect with a live person to let them know and get a confirmation that it's okay. Upon arrival I got unwelcoming looks of being 40 min late but we were accommodated after all. Given that we were late, I understood that we were placed at a bigger table with additional chairs (not a big deal). We started to get in line for food and to say I was disappointed with food is an understatement. First of all, no labels or titles were placed by the food. We have dietary restrictions so had to play the guessing game to figure out if we could consume it. After battling with that, we start eating and we establish there's sausage in the 'chef inspired Fritata'. My wife and I are both vegetarians due to religious restrictions. I was thoroughly disappointed to find meat in fritata. To be certain, we asked the staff to verify if there's meat and they confirmed there was and I felt sick to my stomach having eaten meat that's forbidden for us. After that experience, I went to the buffet line to make sure if there were signs placed there advising people of what's what and didn't find anything (I have pics to prove that). We finally move past the brunch and started getting dessert and find out cheesecake had alcohol or wine in it (also forbidden in my religion). My day couldn't get any worse as I had tried the two things we've avoided all our lives.. before the reservation I was happy to visit GIM and they had verified there will be vegetarian options there but to see the primary dish (eggs) had meat in them was beyond disappointing. Even on the website there's no mention of sausage in fritata. I won't be returning again.
Father’s Day Brunch
e enjoyed out time at the Grand Island Mansion buffet on Father's day. The place was beautifully decorated and the food was good. I was impressed with the fact that it was not too noisy. WE had soft music playing and we were actually still able to carry on a conversation. Rare these days. The service was excellent. Although we never really felt hovered over they were always there when we needed anything. I would have loved to have a few more choices in the food. Although everything we had was tasty and the prime rib was excellent. All in all a good experience and we will definitely be back with friends.
