I revisited Gramercy Tavern after a bit of a respite, and thankfully nothing has changed. Whether to simply have one of their signature cocktails at the bar, a drink and a bite at their barside tables (the Tavern) or the full blown experience at the inner dining room Gramercy does not dissappoint. I had the seasonal tasting menu, and a friend the vegetarian, and both were terrific. Every dish (and there were 6) was special. The service is spectacular, down to the two waitstaff delivering each dish simultaneously in a choreographed Pax de Deux (I did ask and they said it was a practiced move).

Just beware that unless you are running a successful hedge fund, a cocktail and a bottle of wine-even the more reasonably priced variieties, of which there are many, takes the tab into the stratosphere.
But there is no better place to take that special person.

My husband and I visited Gramercy Tavern for the first time during our current visit to NYC. We had an incredible experience. The food was complex, unique and delicious and the wine list was extensive. Most importantly, however, the team tending to Table 255 - Alvaro, Devin, Isabella and the unnamed bread server, "made" our evening with their outstanding personalities. We left feeling as though we had spent the evening with three close friends. We highly recommend Gramercy Tavern and look forward to returning.

Have wanted to enjoy Gramercy Tavern for a while and finally had a schedule to make it work. We had very high expectations and was happy to have Alan (our waiter) exceed our service and the food was fabulous. Each dish was perfectly prepared and flavors beyond compare. Can't wait to do it again.

We had lunch and loved everything about our experience. The staff is wonderful and welcoming. The starters of duck broth ( soup) was delicious as was my husband's beet salad. We both had a main course of fish- his the flounder and mine the black bass. Both cooked perfectly. I ordered the grapefruit dessert on the recommendation of the waiter. It was delicious. My husband did not order a dessert so the waiter brought him one from the Bar Menu which was delicious also. This restaurant is special. Dine there and you will not be disappointed.

If you're looking for great food and impeccable service then Gramercy Tavern is for you.

We were over from England for 5 days to celebrate my wife's 40th Birthday and I had planned where to eat for most nights, with GT being the chosen venue for her actual birthday.

Knowing that it gets booked up well in advance i ensured we didn't miss out by putting in my diary 28 days before the day so that i didn't miss out.

Boy was it all worth it.

The food is amazing. We went for the price fixe menu at $92. It was worth EVERY penny.

The staff and service were faultless. For example my wife was spoilt for choice and couldn't decide between two starters. Our waitress pointed out that the smoked trout was their signature dish and this helped her decision. However upon receiving our starters the waitress brought out the unlucky dish as a third starter for us to share complements of the chef!! That's what you call service and looking after clientele!

A lovely birthday cake was presented in addition to our desserts which was a lovely touch as well.

The ambiance is amazing - full of couples, groups chatting away and having a laugh making their own music...

If or rather when we return to NYC, Gramercy Tavern will be top of the list again.

We went into Gramercy Tavern blind. After getting over the exorbitant prices, we had an amazing experience. The food was incredible.

First let me say that this restaurant is beautiful. The flowers are amazing from the front door to the dining room. on a cold, dreary, snowy day, it was the bright spot! Top that off with superb service and gourmet fare and you have a solid winner. I had heard great things, but it surpassed my expectations and those of everyone in our group.

After a few years wanting to come to this restaurant, I finally came for lunch with very high expectations. The restaurant itself exuberates elegance, class and good taste.

The staff is polite and has the right amount of friendliness- they don't keep coming to your table to see if everything's OK which is totally fine by me!

I had the tasting menu ($58) which included: Bay scallops, spinach cappeletti (amazing!), poached hake (meh!), Duck breast and bacon (wow!) and for dessert vanilla rice pudding, white chocolate krispies and basil. The tasting menu came with two entremets, some sort of carrot arancini (?) and chocolate squares- great also.

The restaurant is on the pricey side but I think the tasting menu has a great value- comparing to other restaurants in the city. The dishes are clean and balanced, simple and well thought. It's worth the occasional splurge!

I was very pleased with the whole experience and can't wait to come back!

I took my wife to Gramercy Tavern for her birthday. The entire experience was a real pleasure from the service to the food to the ambience. I would highly recommend Gramercy Tavern to anyone looking for a romantic place to celebrate a special occasion. I will definitely go back.

I don't need to sing anymore praises than I have in the past for this restaurant. Yes I do love it. One thing though. I didn't like when the waitress was asking about my drinking preferences, or lack of, for my personal profile. Yes, she told me they realized I didn't drink any booze last time I was there either and if there was a reason for this. Felt kinda creepy as I never knew a restaurant to build a database about their clientele in such a manner. A little OTT. Like what if I had a drunken traumatizing experience happen to me and I vowed to never drink again. Not the case...just sayin. Keep focusing on the food and not why I drink ginger ale please. I just like the taste.

Had a great business lunch however the server frequently forgot to bring items and was poor on checking back with us. Overall this extended our hour lunch meeting by more than 40 minutes.

went there with my boyfriend. he had the smoked trout for starter, which was fantastic. the waiter gave great recommendations on our starters and entrees separately and they were all fit perfectly with the food. kind noisy, not good for talking. nice service there.

This was our first time in the Gramercy Park Tavern dining room. We reserved a month in advance and it was worth the wait. Our appetizers, main courses and desserts were beautifully presented and a delicious blend of flavors. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and super attentive without being overbearing or fussy. Every aspect of the dinner was perfect.

The gramercy tavern of the past was a terrific special occasion restaurant where the food was creative, the atmosphere cathedral like in its silence and awe and devotion it inspired.
Unfortunately, the current management has decided to depend on the glorious past. The service was rushed, the food was
uniformly over salted and the portions tiny with no personality.
