The ambiance was too casual for the price level. The servants put a lot of effort into their service but it did not match the level pf price sophistication
We arrived about a half hour early and went to the bar for drinks. At our reservation time the hostess seated us in the restaurant. We were immediately greeted by our waiter and there began one of the best(if not THE best) culinary experiences I have ever had. EVERYTHING was top notch, food was fantastic and the service was exemplary. This evening was to celebrate my wife's birthday and Gordon Ramsey Steak delivered an experience she will not soon forget. Thanks to everyone who made her birthday memorable. We most definitely be going back.
Great atmosphere and the food was amazing. The staff was super friendly. The glass of wine was phenomenal!
The food was so good! Would love to go again once my bank account recover.
So I read all the awful reviews about the service but great reviews about the dessert. We had dinner at GDL and decided to go downstairs for dessert. I made a reservation and when we got there on time we were told to wait in the bar. 15 minutes later I went back to the hostess stand and asked what was going on. They said we could only sit in the bar area or wait longer so we took the table in the bar. 20 minutes later I went back to the hostess stand, clearly annoyed that no one had even brought us water let alone a menu or even acknowledged we were sitting there. They got us a waiter and he was great. We ordered several desserts but the best was the Sticky Toffee - amazing!!!
I hope they resolve their staff issues and make it more appealing for people to want to eat there.
Seated 35 minutes after reservation. Bar service terrible. Table service even worse. Simply atrocious. Management non-existent - would not make eye contact, when we needed steak knives in a steak house (I know picky). Loud and harsh lighting. Food was excellent, but will not go back.
This is our third time back and the food was excellent as always. We be going again.
This was our third time there. This time we experienced an hour wait to get our food and were seated in the bar area. I had reservations for our anniversary and expected to be seated on the dining room. For the price of dinner the service should have been a lot better.
The appetizers we're good but we're completely outshined by the Mac and cheese AND the sticky toffee pudding. We almost slipped the toffee pudding because we were so full but it was the best dessert I have ever had in my life. The service was also outstanding. Very fast to refill drinks and get our food out as soon as it was ready. They are very friendly. I highly recommend.
The service was terrible, food and wine were great
Not sure what I was expecting, but this wasn't it. This is basically an adequate restaurant in a casino. You don't really feel cut off from the casino so much as surrounded by it. The decor is OK, but not impressive. The food was generally good, but not worth the price. The prices are for a top drawer restaurant and this is not such an establishment.
The food - The rib eye steak was good, but I've had much better at Ruth's Chris, Fleet Street Kitchen (when it was open) and Bar Vasquez. The beef wellington was very good. The side dishes were just OK. The toffee pudding cake dessert was fabulous.
The service - I give the wait staff high marks for effort, but barely passing marks for delivery. They were all very friendly, but the pre-dinner cocktails were a bit on the sweet side and took so long to arrive that they arrived when the steak arrived and the wine that should have been served with the steak arrived halfway through the main course. Also, we had to wait about 25 minutes past our reservation time to be seated and the restaurant was not full.
The bill came to about $250 for two people. For that price, I expect decor, food and service on par with the best that Baltimore (and DC) have to offer. This place just didn't measure up in any of those categories. It wasn't bad, but it's certainly not a destination eatery either.
AMAZING! Not expensive for the quality of the food and service.
The food, as expected, was amazing. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and he's still raving about how well cooked and seasoned his strip was.
Unfortunately, the service was actually bad. The hostess was attentive and pleasant, as were the food runners and bartenders. Our waitress, however, wasn't great. She was nice and polite, but left us waiting on multiple occasions, forgot our order, served other tables that came is after us before us. It was shockingly bad for the type of restaurant. I was expecting the same experience that I had going to Ruth's Chris (as they're both high-end steakhouses), but was sadly disappointed.
That being said, the food is to die for, and I saw many other servers that seemed to be very good. I guess we just got stuck with the bad one.
The food here was phenomenal. Definitely worth the money and definitely a great place to go for a special occasion- as we did for our anniversary. Highly recommended and we will certainly go back again!!
It was truly Second To None great Ambience my waitress can't remember her name but man was she ever excellent Gordon Ramsay you have a great staff, the best 65th birthday dinner I have ever had in my 65 years lol
Absolutely fantastic dining experience! Our first visit was during Restaurant Week. It is now our number one choice of restaurants to visit.
Pricy, but the food was outstanding. Great service. The sticky toffee pudding alone is worth the trip!
My wife and I celebrated our 49th Wedding anniversary at Gordon Ramsey's Steak. The food was absolutely incredible!!! I have never tasted meat with so much flavor. the whole experience was life changing!!
From my arrival the service was top notch. My server was very attentive and the food arrived hot and delicious. The atmosphere was very chic. I loved my Beef Wellington and Crab cake. Definitely would recommend to anyone.
Amazing anniversary dinner at Gordon Ramsay’s. From the service to the food everything was amazing.
Food was outstanding. Service was weak. Too long of a wait for drinks and wine. Server didn't bring out the correct steak sauce and had to ask twice for it later. Prices are OUTRAGEOUS. Atmosphere is terrible as you are in a casino...and they have no dress code. So you have customers in suits and cocktail dresses (us) and gamblers in white t-shirts and basketball shorts next to us. I will not be back. And have advised my social circle as well. Judging by the sparse crowd on a Friday night, I don't think they will be in business much longer.
I loved everything about our visit. The staff was phenomenal...very professional and customer friendly. And the food was outstanding. I can’t wait to go again!
The experience was worth every dollar. My beef wellington was absolutely delicious. All the staff were well-dressed, professional and friendly. I recommend you "treat yo self."
This was a fun place to celebrate back to school and the end of summer with our foodie 10-year-old, a big fan of Master Chef Junior. The staff made our night really special, especially since this was his first time at such a fine dining restaurant. And the food was amazingly delicious.
I am now a regular. I continue to dine here because of the consistently excellent combination of people, service, and food. The team is phenomenal—from the Executive Chef to the GM to our favorite servers to the bartender/mixologist to the greeter.
The food was to die for! This was definitely the best steak dinner I have ever had! Worth every penny! I cant wait to return!
When it's good, it's very, very good. However, it is not consistent. Sometimes the food is undercooked and other times it's overcooked. Wait time for food can be slow at times....Servers are excellent and very commodating.
Food was phenomenal. Service was lacking because despite making open table reservations, we were in bar seating. I was shocked how people dressed at this restaurant, like they just rolled out of bed.
Service slow, salad ok, crab cake - bland dry and pasty no flavor no old bay - Crab soup way to spicy, beef wellington first bite was awesome after that no flavor pastry was soggy. Shrimp hard - I brought them home and made shrimp cocktail to try to soften them. Asparagus just didnt like at all not soft. Brussel sprouts were burned if you picked through them you could find some eatable pieces and they were good. $258.00 for dinner for 2 and 95% of dinner was awlful. Way over priced for the quality. I love Chef Ramsey been dreaming of going to one of his restaurant forever. Went for our 25th anniversary sooooo disappointed, what a let down. So surprised it was that bad.
Was not impressed my first time here, but decided to give it another try. This time food, wine, and service was excellent. The crab cake appetizer is Maryland inspired and the filet mignon was cooked to perfection. I tried the poached lobster tail and was not impressed, very dry and no taste. But all in all the meal was worth another visit.
Terrible...waited 45 min past reservation time then left...no acknowledgement or apology from the staff or hostess....they think they're doing you a favor by simply being there
So I drove all the way to Baltimore from NY to enjoy a night away for my birthday. I made a reservation for two for 8pm on 8/18/18. We arrived at the restaurant about two minutes to 8pm. We checked in at the front desk, where we were told it would just be a few minutes as they were just cleaning off some tables. We decided to take a seat in the waiting area by the bar.
At about 8:30 pm I noticed we were still waiting for a table. Within those thirty minutes past our reservation time not one person from the staff approached us to notify us of what the problem was or why such a long wait. At approximately 8:35 I approached the front desk where I told the young lady to remove our reservation. She then asked if I was sure as were up next and it would only be about FIFTEEN MORE MINUTES. I confirmed with her that I for sure was not waiting another fifteen minutes to pay an arm and a leg for a meal.
As I arrived back to my car one of the managers called to ask if I would like to come back and he would do whatever it was to have us come back. Well I opted to keep it pushing.
I think Gordon needs to get his yelling A$ over to the Horse Shoe Casino in Baltimore and fix his own dam restaurant.
I guess I should have known what to expect going to a casino steakhouse. Way overpriced, glitz and glamour and big spending valued over a great food experience. The actual aged steak product is good but one of our two steaks came out well under MR, which is pretty inexcusable for a $95 steak. Salads were pretty but 4/10. Sides were passable, maybe 6/10. Nowhere near justifying the price. Service was crazy slow - seated at 7:45 for a 7:15 reservation in a 1/3 empty dining room, which left plenty of time for the unhurried-looking bar staff to ignore us for 5-10 minutes before acknowledging us for a round of drinks. Only 1 toilet for each sex, so the line was as many as 4 deep. We joked multiple times about what the Gordon Ramsay persona of TV would have said reviewing this place. There would have been a lot of F-bombs and tantrum-throwing. If you're at the casino and way up and feeling flush, by all means, enjoy. But not worth it as a destination steakhouse in Baltimore. Not as good and even pricier than the standard high-end chains.
Came here for the first time, and we were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in to the Chef coming to the table everything was fantastic!!! My husband had the Pork Belly and Beef Wellington, I had the Crab Soup and Roasted Chicken and then we shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding and it was the absolute best dessert I have EVER had!!! We have eaten at many celebrity chef restaurants over the years and this by far was my favorite!!! We will be back for sure!!!!
The Beef Wellington was outstanding... it melted in your mouth! We enjoyed a tasty house salad and a luscious sticky toffee pudding (shared). We were most impressed with the wait staff. They were very attentive and helped to make our dining experience unforgettable. Gordon Ramsey would be proud!!
My goodness... my mouth is still mad at my stomach for quitting!
With Gordon Ramsay's name on the door, expectations were high. This place surpassed everything I could have hoped for. I ordered the bone-in ribeye, and sadly had to admit to my girlfriend that their steak was better than anything I've ever made myself. She ordered the wagyu filet and wouldn't even share! She said it literally melted in her mouth. We shared the brussel sprouts, mushrooms, and fingerling potatoes, but what really highlighted the meal was the sticky toffee pudding with brown butter ice cream...
The service was fantastic, the entire staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, and the meal was memorable for all the best reasons.
So much wow!
My waiter was awesome, I took my son here for his birthday. He is a big Ramsey fan and he was so happy with everything.
I am a huge Gordon Ramsay fan, and his restaurant at the Horseshoe Casino did not disappoint. The Beef Wellington was absolutely amazing. It was everything I had always imagined it would be and more. The meat was so tender that it practically melted in your mouth. Everything we had was amazing, save for one of the side dishes. On his shows, he always talks about how truffle oil should be used sparingly, if at all; however, we ordered his truffle mac & cheese as a side, and the truffle oil was so overwhelming that we couldn't even really eat it. With the exception of the mac & cheese, everything else was perfection! We loved the brussel sprouts and the potato mash as sides, and the crab cake and Maryland crab soup were to die for. Finally, the desserts were out of this world. My husband got the famous sticky toffee pudding and was in heaven, and I got a vanilla bean cheesecake that was the best cheesecake I've ever had. All in all, wonderful experience. Quite pricey as you would imagine, but the food was worth the price, and it was a great place for a special occasion.
Only complaint was food service from the kitchen was a bit slow they were not extremely busy.
Went there for a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend. The mood was relaxing and peaceful. Everything was exceptional. The staff was amazing, cant wait for our next visit.
