Gorat's Steak House

Choose from a variety of cuts of steak like sirloin, rib eye and filet mignon or go a bit lighter with the citrus-hoisin glazed salmon. For vegetarians, try an entre salad like the Caesar salad.

We waited for 30 min to have our drink order taken while other people who came in after us were served before us. Note: we had two young children with us. They had no milk which is almost a deal breaker for a 3 year old and also had no coffee creamer because the “truck didn’t come.” I ordered medium rare filet that was actually more like well done.
Kristen was our server and she was very knowledgeable and friendly- good sense of humor too. Unfortunately the kitchen was very slowwwwww, even though it was not busy at the restaurant, and we waited over a half hour for our appetizer (it finally came after our salads). This made an otherwise excellent evening a bit uncomfortable.
Great food and service, will definitely be back!!!!
My wife and I tried Gorat's Steak House for the first time and had a fantastic dining experience. They are "Old School" -- they put the emphasis on the quality of their food selections.
The staff learned today how to handle an e-gift card along with us. We did not mean to tie up people when it was our fault not knowing to get the email containing the number. We thought the order number was enough. My crab cake salad was scrumptious; we went back the next day for lunch. I came from Tempe, Az and hope to come back again sometime soon and have lunch with Buffett.
There’s nothing to say except the food was delicious and the waitress that we had was fantastic.
Mother’s Day brunch. Small selection, food barely warm and had been out for hours. Guess I know now why I could get in at last minute on Mother’s Day!! Won’t happen again.
Food was amazing and outstanding service. Would highly recommend them
Had a great time with my family for mothers day. Will be back with my wife on date night.
Had to wait a hour half half for food
Had reservations at 6:30 and was told it would be just a few minutes while they cleaned the table. At 7:00 I checked on the table still had to wait ten minutes longer. We finally ordered then another couple sat down after us. They got their food first and left before we got our food. Someone at another table bit into his food and broke a tooth. Waitress went and told the manager she said he would be right over and it took at least 20 minutes for him to respond. First time and last time for us to go there.
Whiskey steak was amazing as was the salad with homemade blue cheese dressing and the onion rings. The side of asparagus was delish but only 3 pieces. The Mac and cheese with lobster was yuk and the Oscar lobster was yuk as well. My daughter liked them, I didn’t. I see recommendations for the sweet potatoes and I saw how lovely the baked potatoes looked. My daughters drink was definitely generous in the alcohol. I would definitely go back just for the steak and salad. Will opt for different sides next go around
Prime rib was tough and poorly seasoned. The soup and potato were ok. My wife and I ordered the exact meal. Comments apply to both.
One of Omaha’s classic restaurants. The food was really good, our server was terrific, we had a wonderful time, and really loved the onion rings 🥰.
Meat portion very good, side portions skimpy. Meat prep perfect. Service perfect. Would have expected more with the sides....got 3 sticks of asparagus and a cafeteria scoop of rice pilaf.
Hands down the absolute best steak I’ve ever had! Amazing experience!
Great all around experience.
Service, food and price exceeded our expectations!
We made a reservation for 7pm, got there at 6:30 by our choice to have a drink and wait in the bar and listen to some music. Were told they would text us in bar with a table by 7pm. At 7:15 after we approached the hostess we were told a table was being cleaned and sanitized and they would come get us in the bar. At 7:30 we went to the hostess again and she acted like she never had seen us before. It may have been better not making a reservation as others who walked in came and went way before us. Food was good, atmosphere was dated and bright, I came here for lunch in the old days and we wanted to go to some old school Omaha steak houses recently so we tried Gorats. I guess we are just not hip or somehow not in on the joke. I know Buffett loves it but we were left non-plussed. Maybe I missed something or i just don't "get it."
Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.
The steaks are amazing. That alone is a great reason to eat here. The loaded potato soup and sweet potato fries are a delicious bonus. The wait staff is attentive and considerate of your every need. Highly recommend!
Overall great experience, short staffed but great food! Very loud and couldn't talk much to my s/o but I don't take this as negitive.
Top notch dinner in all aspects. Happy hour specials were a treat.
First time there, they were understaffed even for a Wednesday. Food was very good, but a little overpriced.
Service was fair at best. Glad we tried it, but probably won’t go back.
Good food and wonderful service. The Warren Buffett cardboard cutout was absolutely amazing
Four adults dined on Saturday 3/27/2021 and each had a delicious meal (filet mignon, top sirloin, chopped steak, and a prime rib sandwich. Appetizers of onion rings and toasted cheese raviolis. All of the food was outstanding. The service was timely, friendly, and flawless. Two of us were from out of town so this was a must do. It lived up to its great reputation.
In town on business, brought the team for dinner based on several recommendations. Overall very good experience, and would return in the future. All steaks cooked to order, very good appetizers. Service was very good.
Prime rib was tough...sent it back and got a filet
A delicious meal with great service. Enjoyed the environment!
Great food and wonderful experience! Steak was terrific.
Fun experience. Very unique and the feel of an old school masterpiece!
Very old school - decent food but lacking in ambiance
Everything was good. We sat in the bar to be a bit further away from other groups and it was very quiet.
Our server in particular, was amazing and friendly. Very interested in who we were as people and showed appreciation we came.
Never had a meal I didn’t like at Gorats’s! Service was fast and efficient, atmosphere was fun with live music on a Friday night!
Great traditional steak house in Omaha. The staff were all friendly. Our entrees took some time coming out but the wait was not bad.
Another great evening at Gorat's. Filled up 3 teenage boys with great steaks for dinner!
Staff managed an active Saturday night like the pros that they are.
Came all the way from Atlanta to have some great steaks on my birthday. However, ended up here. It was terrible. The cuts of meats on the ribeyes and sirloin were all gristle. The filet was a nice cut, but was served ice cold. On top of everything, didn't even get a birthday wish from the restaurant.
I went around lunch and had very slow service. The restaurant was in a weird part of town, so the outside looked kind of trashy. Inside was oddly bad-looking for a place inspired by Warren Buffet. My food was fair priced but subpar, and honestly, I would’ve gotten better food for the same price somewhere else. If you’re looking for a good dine-in experience that’s worth your money, I would look somewhere else.
The ribeye was the best ribeye I have ever had. My partner and I attended Gorats on Valentine's Day and we both loved the atmosphere and our waitress was very sweet.
