Gorat's Steak House

Choose from a variety of cuts of steak like sirloin, rib eye and filet mignon or go a bit lighter with the citrus-hoisin glazed salmon. For vegetarians, try an entre salad like the Caesar salad.

They can take a reservation but can’t keep it. Had to wait 20 minutes. Food was ok. Staff seemed overwhelmed.
We were celebrating a late Father's Day and got in right on time, due to our Open Table reservation. There were lots of people and the servers were really running to keep up. It took an hour for us to get our food after we were seated, but I understand they were short staffed, with the end of the pandemic and the large numbers of people (many from the College World Series) who were eating at Gorat's. The food was very tasty and we were comfortable and did not feel rushed once we had our dinners. Our server kept checking on us and we'll try going again when they're not so busy.
Food was great. It wasn’t that crowded but we waited an hour for our food after ordering. We saw others sit, order, eat and leave before we received our food. Not sure what happened there. Staff was nice and apologetic. If not for the wait, it would be 5 stars.
Absolutely get the potato soup!!
I give this side 😋 😋😋😋😋
The steaks are super tasty, the cooking is right on the mark. Highly recommended
Always a great place to enjoy a steak in Omaha, we keep coming back
Just go somewhere else save time and money. Wont be back. Took 2 hrs to eat and some of the food was unbeatable. Just one mistake after another and not able to correct food or service.
Wait staff was pretty good, kitchen was very slow, to the point that the waitress had to mention it several times. Wasn't unusually busy either, lots of open tables.
Went to enjoy the live music and catch up with old friends
Another great steak dinner with family and friends. Hostess accommodated two extra guests in minutes, service was timely and steaks cooked perfectly.
We had a business meeting at Gorat's steakhouse because my out of town guest wanted to dine where Warren Buffett would like to go. They enjoyed getting a picture with Warren Buffett's cutout. Our server was nice. The food was tasty. Sometimes the noise of patrons was a bit loud. I'd go again.
Excellent food and service! Old style restaurant that focuses on serving the highest quality food with attention to service.
Great food and great service! Would highly recommend.
There were 5 of us for dinner. 3 really liked their dinners. 2 of us were disappointed in our dinners which were steak. I had the filet mignon that I found to be tasteless. Steak dinners are overpriced. And I was charged for a Bud Light Beer that we did not order or have. Didn't notice until I got home that I was charged the $3.75. FYI - I myself was not be returning.
Monday night reservation no problems. Great food and service, will visit again.
The filet mignon was the best I've ever had. The service was horrible at both the dining room and bar. Management needs to hire more staff.
The filet and prime rib was excellent and strawberry rhubarb crisp dessert was excellent!
I ordered the signature whiskey ribeye. I requested medium well and specified pink center. It was overcooked even if I had ordered well done. It was dry and tough...shoe leather would have been better. Also, everyone at our table ordered lobster mac & cheese. It was cold and had no cheese...what? Isn't mac and CHEESE supposed to have cheese? It was as if a pasta salad was served instead. We requested the waitress heat it, which she did. It still had NO CHEESE. The manager came over and indicated we would not be billed, and acted surprised that one of Gorat's best sides would be served in that condition.
I am still upset about that meal 4 days later. I paid $50 with tip for that meal and will not be back. Too bad someone's lack of care in food prep ruins a restaurant's great reputation...for at least one table.
Wonderful meal will see you again for sure
We waited for 30 min to have our drink order taken while other people who came in after us were served before us. Note: we had two young children with us. They had no milk which is almost a deal breaker for a 3 year old and also had no coffee creamer because the “truck didn’t come.” I ordered medium rare filet that was actually more like well done.
The food was good, there was a nice variety so everyone was able to find something they liked. Our server was excellent and took great care of us. The live music on Friday night was a surprise, and our first table was right by the door to the bar and that made conversation impossible. The hostess was able to move us to a quieter spot, but there doesn't seem to be any place really quiet in the restaurant. Gorat's was recommended to us by a native of Omaha, and while the steak wasn't outstanding it was good, cooked to our liking and great as left-overs for breakfast. The house salad was a good size and the raspberry vinaigrette dressing was delicious. The roasted asparagus pesto pasta was also very good, and there was plenty of it.
Kristen was our server and she was very knowledgeable and friendly- good sense of humor too. Unfortunately the kitchen was very slowwwwww, even though it was not busy at the restaurant, and we waited over a half hour for our appetizer (it finally came after our salads). This made an otherwise excellent evening a bit uncomfortable.
Great food. Great service. Casual atmosphere made it all even better.
Great food and service, will definitely be back!!!!
My wife and I tried Gorat's Steak House for the first time and had a fantastic dining experience. They are "Old School" -- they put the emphasis on the quality of their food selections.
The staff learned today how to handle an e-gift card along with us. We did not mean to tie up people when it was our fault not knowing to get the email containing the number. We thought the order number was enough. My crab cake salad was scrumptious; we went back the next day for lunch. I came from Tempe, Az and hope to come back again sometime soon and have lunch with Buffett.
There’s nothing to say except the food was delicious and the waitress that we had was fantastic.
Mother’s Day brunch. Small selection, food barely warm and had been out for hours. Guess I know now why I could get in at last minute on Mother’s Day!! Won’t happen again.
Food was amazing and outstanding service. Would highly recommend them
Had a great time with my family for mothers day. Will be back with my wife on date night.
Had to wait a hour half half for food
Had reservations at 6:30 and was told it would be just a few minutes while they cleaned the table. At 7:00 I checked on the table still had to wait ten minutes longer. We finally ordered then another couple sat down after us. They got their food first and left before we got our food. Someone at another table bit into his food and broke a tooth. Waitress went and told the manager she said he would be right over and it took at least 20 minutes for him to respond. First time and last time for us to go there.
Whiskey steak was amazing as was the salad with homemade blue cheese dressing and the onion rings. The side of asparagus was delish but only 3 pieces. The Mac and cheese with lobster was yuk and the Oscar lobster was yuk as well. My daughter liked them, I didn’t. I see recommendations for the sweet potatoes and I saw how lovely the baked potatoes looked. My daughters drink was definitely generous in the alcohol. I would definitely go back just for the steak and salad. Will opt for different sides next go around
Prime rib was tough and poorly seasoned. The soup and potato were ok. My wife and I ordered the exact meal. Comments apply to both.
One of Omaha’s classic restaurants. The food was really good, our server was terrific, we had a wonderful time, and really loved the onion rings 🥰.
Meat portion very good, side portions skimpy. Meat prep perfect. Service perfect. Would have expected more with the sides....got 3 sticks of asparagus and a cafeteria scoop of rice pilaf.
Hands down the absolute best steak I’ve ever had! Amazing experience!
Great all around experience.
Service, food and price exceeded our expectations!
We made a reservation for 7pm, got there at 6:30 by our choice to have a drink and wait in the bar and listen to some music. Were told they would text us in bar with a table by 7pm. At 7:15 after we approached the hostess we were told a table was being cleaned and sanitized and they would come get us in the bar. At 7:30 we went to the hostess again and she acted like she never had seen us before. It may have been better not making a reservation as others who walked in came and went way before us. Food was good, atmosphere was dated and bright, I came here for lunch in the old days and we wanted to go to some old school Omaha steak houses recently so we tried Gorats. I guess we are just not hip or somehow not in on the joke. I know Buffett loves it but we were left non-plussed. Maybe I missed something or i just don't "get it."
