Only downside was we had a 6:30 reservation, but arrived about 5:50.
The restaurant was half empty, but we were told that our table was not ready.
Our table became available at 6:05. It appears they were making us wait until the Happy Hour specials were over at 6pm.
Great food and service, as usual!
Best Flounder in town!
Beautiful new restaurant with great food and atmosphere. The banquet room looks really nice for parties as well!
We hate the new building. They took a beautiful, classic restaurant and replaced it with a cheap diner.
Food is good. Our table has direct sunshine on us at about 6pm made some of us uncomfortable.
Food and service, as always, were excellent. Their fried shrimp and oysters are among the best in town. Very loud and if you sit next to the bar area, you feel kind of claustrophobic. i would recommend this restaurant very highly to anyone who wants a great seafood meal.
Food was grilled to perfection. The staff was very helpful.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere.
First time at new location. Had a lovely lunch and the catfish was delicious.
Love the new place! So clean & open. So much better than the old spot. The food was outstanding! I think it is the best fried shrimp in town! Started with a shrimp cocktail & it was very good. Then had the fried shrimp platter ...side was amazing onion rings! My husband had the redfish grilled... a little too plain but still very fresh & clean tasting.
Service was great! Ask for Elvis...he is really dood! our waitress was good too..Christina but she disappeared for awhile & Elvis knew us from the old spot & he took over getting us more drinks etc.
Highly recommend this new location
First time in new location. I’ve been dining here since the restaurant opened in 1986. Always very friendly and helpful wait staff ...until this. Waiter acted annoyed and made no effort to be welcoming. I’ll go back and try again only because I have been longtime customer. If this was first time I wouldn’t bother to return. Food was just okay.
Went to Goode Co. Seafood for a team lunch and the service and food was excellent. It would be nice to have a lunch menu with smaller portions.
Probably won’t recommend this place it was just okay and there are much better seafood options in the area not bad but not WOW just okay
Server (Michelle?) was excellent, but everything else was disappointing. Table bread was soaked in oily butter and cold. My crab roll appetizer was two bland shrimp and a tablespoon of crab, served with unseasoned potato chips. My daughter's tuna was very strong, and she had a hard time eating it. My husband's catfish was just ordinary. Why do I have the feeling that we just did not order the right things? We all left hungry after paying for a $100 dinner. Great atmosphere and good service does not make up for dull tasting and dull looking dishes. We had a pre-wedding party last year at the Goode BBQ, and so were expecting better.
The new location seems small
The Texas redfish reef oysters were outstanding. The server Dante was quite pleasant and knowledgeable and recommended the marinated crab fingers which were small but I lost count of how many - they were very tasty. My friend said she had had better gumbo, and her bacon wrapped shrimp were envious on my part. Of course, the damn Goode margaritas were $9 and quite ‘Goode’. The restaurant is airy, open and really attractive - the decor is very snazzy - I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed and will return soon. Exciting to have
Been a customer at their first location across the parking lot since it opened. Love the new setup. Food the same great fresh, innovative style.
Restaurant does not absorb sound well and is a bit noisy...the other place just seemed cozier.
Sad that you took bacon-wrapped shrimp of appetizer menu.
Food and service always good though!
We've been dining at Goode Company Seafood's locations and have especially enjoyed the Memorial City location. This past Sunday was our first visit to the new store "across the parking lot". The location may be different but the service and quality are still there...miss the propeller, though.
The food was great and the atmosphere was vibrant.
It’s was great
Waiter was amazing. Food was delicious like always.
My husband and I enjoy our experience everytime we visit this establishment. The food is always fresh and the presentation is excellent. We will be back!
This was our first visit to the new Katy Freeway location which has much more the feel of a Gulf Coast seafood emporium (but with that comes a loud environment and lots of hustle and bustle - not a relaxing environment). Table for two was tightly packed with neighboring tables. Effort was needed to allow customers to enter and exit their seats without disturbing the neighboring table.
The popular Campechana de Mariscos seafood cocktail remains a highlight. Definitely start with it. Add some chopped up jalapeños. Mesquite grilled red snapper (no topping) was good. Flounder special had a nice topping but nothing special. Green beans with solid potatoes side dish didn't have much taste.
Didn't have dessert but the pecan pie ala mode served right next to us looked great.
Service was good but required asking other servers to help as our guy was very busy with others.
New menu items - seared tuna and crispy crab-boil potatoes are INSANE!!
Tables were way too close together. They had white table cloths on the tables in the old building. Now they just have truck stop diner tables really close to each other. The sun was shinning through the top window. The manager said it will last for only five minutes. Why not buy a shade so it doesn’t shine through the window at all.
Campechama not as food as Kirby location
Great service and delicious food!
It was a good lunch. It was a bit pricey for lunch but good.
Good place for business casual lunch. Not too chic, not too noisy, and great food quality.
after going to the original one next door, for many years ,this was a real letdown. The character and ambiance of the original one, made it my favorite place to go in Houston. Now the new place is in the same league as Pappas seafood or any of the other cookie cutter corporate seafood places in Houston. At least I have the memory of many good times at the previous Goode Co. I guess I'll start looking for another restaurant to replace it. I would not recommend it to my friends who would drive 60 miles to eat at the original Goode Co, as I'm sure I will find out as some as they eat at the new one.
It’s noisy and a bit expensive but well worth the money in my opinion. The quality and the consistency is second to none. The gumbo and compechana are outstanding
Food and atmosphere is always great. Server was very attentive
Outstanding meal. Great service!!
Outstanding seafood with excellent service. A must go place.
Love love this restaurant. The food has always been great.
All good. Manger is very sweet and made us feel at home.
Food was good, was not served as hot as should be-very good service-very fair price
Well the new location was definitely a different experience from the prior (next door), while still great and welcoming. My family all loved the ambiance, food and drinks. The service was absolutely wonderful with Hunter and we just really enjoyed everything. Cannot wait to come partake in the food, ambiance and drinks once more — no occasion necessary.
