Authentic Thai bistro offering a unique lunch, happy hour, and dinner experience - your oasis in the heart of New Orleans Central Business District. With a full Thai menu and a creative bar menu designed to accompany the tropical flavors of Thai food and the New Orleans cultural heritage, Executive Chef Aom Srisuk brings together the best flavors of the East with the best of the Big Easy. Good Catch is the sister restaurant to our smaller but more established uptown restaurant Pomelo.

Two blocks from Canal Street, and one-and-a-half blocks to St. Charles Ave. and less than a block away from the uptown (green) streetcar line. Short walk to the Saenger, Orpheum, Roosevelt, Ritz Carlton, and so much more.

Recommended parking garage: Clarke Garage at the intersection of Gravier & O'Keefe -- one block away (when we last checked in early 2025, their rates for ordinary days are only $5 for up to three hours or $10 for up to ten hours).

Sat at the bar, for a cushioned seat. Bartender was very attentive, cocktail was great. My husband ordered the Phat Thai and I had the green curry with scallops. Both were delicious and large servings. We would definitely go again!

My favorite "go to" for lunch or happy hour. Have brought several friends there for a first-time experience and all left saying they'd be back.

The food was okay. I had the crab fried rice, the tamarind shrimp, and the crab noodles. The noodles were good just a tad bit too salty. The crab fried rice portion was very small for $30. I just left Cali, and I paid $18 for three times the amount of rice they give you here. Also, the tamarind shrimp isn’t made with just tamarind sauceit contains fish sauce, and they don’t tell you that. Anyone who doesn’t eat fish sauce knows it smells exactly like booty! However, they were nice enough to remake the shrimp without the sauce and give me a side of peanut sauce. The staff was really friendly, and the environment was clean, quiet, and pleasant. I would go back the menu is huge.

Food is an inventive switch on traditional Thai! It’s great quality ingredients, it’s a bit more than standard Thai but I’d rather pay more for better ! Rum don’t walk to get here to try !

Overall we enjoyed our experience at Good Catch. The service was very good (almost too good, with giving too much attention) as was the food. The papaya salad and calamari were excellent to start and we really liked the deep fried whole seabass and the glass noodle pad thai. Our least favorite was the ocean treasures as it lacked a bit of flavor and texture was generally one note of being a bit mushy. But overall would recommend giving it a shot.
