   Lovely evening with friends celebrating a birthday. We started with drinks on the terrace overlooking Parker’s Piece. My sirloin steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. Super friendly staff and a beautiful setting.

   Really lovely good - great oysters, scallops and lamb - and great service, would really recommend

   The portion size for the fish was very small , very little fish. The steak was over done and chewy . The staff were attentive and apologised when we complained . Offered a free dessert as compensation , a gesture , no money offered off the over £120 bill . A couple adjacent to us , also had the sea bream, complained and eventually walked out refusing to pay

   Staff were so welcoming and friendly. The afternoon tea was delicious - so fresh and beautifully presented as well. We had sandwiches, scones, and a range of deserts, coffee/tea and we chose the prosecco option. Definitely recommend this afternoon tea!

   We went for Mother’s Day Sunday Roast. lovely ambiance, great service and delicious food. Wife’s beef wasn’t as well done as she liked. However was replaced quickly upon request. Overall an excellent dining experience.

   Michelin starred food, what talent Even the butter was exceptional and three choices, what a luxury. Maitre D' Robert was brilliantly friendly and a great addition to the service. Quiet, but in a good way, glass interior it was still piping hot warm and lovely central views Highly highly recommend

   I have been to lots of hotels for afternoon tea and this was very sparce for what we paid. I would not recommend it.

   Valentines meal was very disappointing. Too many tables for the waiting staff. Table booked for 8pm took until 9.45 to get our main meal. Very minimal dinner, no vegetables etc. charged for Prosecco we didn’t receive and had to get the waiters attention to order drinks. Would not return.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea at the Gonville Hotel on Valentines Day. The whole experience was excellent particularly as we had the restaurant to ourselves.
