   Christmas Eve dinner with my wife. The halibut was the best. We made 2nd reservation on Christmas night again.

   This place was very good. Our waiter recommended the Turbot fish that comes straight from the Basque port. It’s a whole fish but they deboned it for us at the table. It was sautéed in olive oil and delicious. We paired that with a light salad and their house made sourdough bread and it was the perfect Spanish lunch. We ate outside in the Plaza del Angel, which was beautiful and great people watching...that is until another customer sat next to us and started smoking. :( We just moved inside for dessert and espresso. Had the “Goxua” traditional basque dessert and it was very good. Recommend this place for a nice lunch. Sit outside if you can. Just be prepared that in Madrid customers are ONLY allowed to smoke OUTSIDE.

   We had a wonderful experience! The outdoor seating in the square was lovely, full of life and calm at the same time. The food was delicious, and the staff were amazing. Joseba and Candido were wonderful and made sure we had a great dinner and stay, muchas gracias!! We highly recommend this gem!

   If you are travelling from overseas be sure to say you want to pay in euros when paying with a card - they automatically charge in your local currency adding almost 10% additional to your bill in terms of a typical exchange rate.

   We thoroughly enjoyed our last night in Madrid dining at this laid back and delicious restaurant. We ate outside and it was a perfect evening. The best bacalao and corvina (extremely large piece of really fresh fish!) we've ever had. Potatoes were caramelized with onions and it was simply excellent.
