We had a great evening. Cocktails were delish. We had the magenta then French 75. Food was very good. It took over 35 mins for appetizers to be delivered to the table. We ordered the seafood tagliatelle and there were no shrimp. They did comp our dessert for the oversight.

As someone who travels frequently for work and has a particular palate, I’ve had the opportunity to dine at many restaurants across the region. It’s not often that I find a place so exceptional that I make a point to return every time I’m in town—but Glass Light in Norfolk is exactly that kind of place. From the moment I first dined here, I knew it was special. On my recent return to Norfolk, I brought a guest along—and once again, the experience did not disappoint. Every dish I have ordered, from the tender and flavorful octopus, to the creatively prepared halibut, was nothing short of pleasurable. The flavors are bold yet balanced, the presentation thoughtful, and the quality undeniable. But what elevates this restaurant beyond great food and excellent service is something harder to describe—something personal. We had the pleasure of meeting the Chef Ticha during our visit, and that brief encounter gave us a glimpse into the heart behind the cuisine. His passion and humility left a lasting impression, adding a layer of meaning to an already memorable meal. This place isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. And for me, it’s now a must-visit every time I find myself in Virginia.

We were really excited about this restaurant because of the almost perfect reviews that were already posted. We were staying at this hotel for a business trip extended weekend. We made reservations for 7:45. Seemed like there were some staffing issues. Took a few minutes to get waited on. Ordered 3 small plates- strawberry and goat cheese salad, beef carpaccio, and lobster ravioli. Strawberry salad was nothing special- tasted like supermarket salad. Lobster ravioli was too watery and not well executed. Tasted fishy. Beef carpaccio was amazing- highly recommend this dish. Would eat this again. Small dishes all came at the same time, should have come when ready. Not coursed out. Hard to eat the salad first when lobster ravioli is getting cold. Ordered a burger and the steak for mains. Burger was good- fries were soggy. Steak was average- Demi glaze and fried mushrooms tasted great. Cut of steak quality was average and thin (1/2) for the 57 dollar price tag. We decided not to order dessert.

An amazing gem in downtown Norfolk! The chef, world class, Tichafa(sp? Sorry!) is amazing! No idea how this culinary master ended up in little old Norfolk but am sure psyched he did! Please stay! Suffice to say, my wife and I will be frequenting the Glass Light, probably, way too much in the future! Beautiful and artful setting, KB, our server and Hunter, the bartender, attended our requests superbly! Thx for an amazing Anniversary dinner!

This was my third time dining at Glass Light, and I can't wait to go back again! This place is absolutely stunning! The art gallery, the main area, everything feels delightful and luxurious. Every staff member is friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and attentive - ESPECIALLY our server Ren! Ren had excellent suggestions for dinner as well as wine pairings, and their overall service was IMECCABLE. And the food. MY GOD! The crispy octopus appetizer is mandatory. I have had the scallops - perfectly cooked, the ribeye - melt-in-your-mouth meat, and on this occasion I tried the duck leg - WOW! Next time I go I will have a very hard to decision to make. It's all so, so, so good!!!

Outstanding Dining Experience ✨ I had the pleasure of dining here yesterday, and everything—from start to finish—was exceptional. Our waitress was truly a gem: attentive, observant, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu, cocktails, wine pairings, and even subtle details that elevated our entire experience. Her thoughtful recommendations showed a true passion for hospitality. The food? Absolutely perfect. Each course was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The duck was a standout, cooked to perfection, and complemented perfectly by the wine she suggested. Next time, I might add an extra appetizer or a side—only because everything was that good and I wanted to taste even more. The ambiance was elegant yet comfortable. If I could offer one tiny suggestion, it would be to have just a touch more background music—something smooth, perhaps jazzy or with a lounge feel, to complete the vibe. But truly, from the cocktails to the appetizers to the entrées and wine, everything was on point. We left happy, full, and already talking about when we’ll be back. Thank you again for such a memorable night—and a special thank you to our exceptional server. See you soon! Merci Nicole Lafleur Vt/Mtl

Food was excellent, but service was slow. I booked for a special occasion which was fully detailed in OpenTable, but upon arrival the server was unaware. Furthermore, the server’s attentiveness did not match the restaurant’s price point and wine was provided after the entree was almost completed.

The selections for dinner we made were exquisite! The CHEF and his Team are exceptional, the dishes presentations were a work of ART and scrumptious. The restaurant offers a 5 gourmet experience. A Michelin Star meal!

We sat at the Chefs counter and did the tasting of both food and wine. Chef Jeff was outstanding as was Katie our server! The food was so delicious! The wine pairing was spot on! It was our 40th wedding anniversary and we could not have asked for a better evening. The food presentation as well as the taste was outstanding. We cannot wait to go back!
