A proper family run Italian, small with atmosphere and great food
This was a lucky find for a last minute evening meal with a friend. The menu was difficult to choose just one item as the options looked delicious. I went with the gnocchi bolognese and it was amazing. The ambience was lovely, it was a very popular place with live music in the evening. I would 100% recommend for casual dining with friends or for a romantic meal.
Great atmosphere and the food was pretty good. Wine isn’t cheap, but it is a nice restaurant in a great location.
Went based off a friends recommendation while in London. I thought the overall vibe was fantastic and would have made for a super cute date night. My good was great, but my friend felt her sauce was a little watered down. Overall, I would visit again if every in the city.
Arrived and they did not have our names in the book even thought we went through Open Table, the guy accommodated very quickly but was abrupt and not very customer focussed (and this was at 18:00 so not overly busy). Food was excellent the service was not great took a while to get a drink, the waitress did not smile at all or provide any level of customer engagement.
The outside of this restaurant could be off putting but once inside it had a lovely traditional feel to it. There was a wide choice of many Italian favourites The portions were generous and all the dishes we ordered were really enjoyed. It was very good value for that area of London and we would definitely return. The lemoncello offered at the end of the meal really rounded off an excellent pre theatre meal
Most authentic restaurant you'd find in London. And the Pasta is amazing!
Lovely atmosphere and staff with good Italian food. The live music on Wednesday and Thursday evenings was the icing on the cake. The ambiance made the night for me.
As always, superb
This was our second visit, and was as good as the first, a good value restaurant food very nice.
Terrible customer service and food not worth the money.
At first glance its a little dated and a little tired - then you understand its a real Italian and the food is a joy - will be back
Giuseppe's Place - went for lunch with friends. Food is perfectly adequate for a work lunch. Service on the day we went was a little slow, but it was busy due to the fine weather.
Had it not been for the constant checking if we wanted to have our sweets I would have scored much higher.
We knew we had our table for 2hours only but with as much as 45 mins left of our slot different waiters kept on coming to our table badgering us. We must have been asked fifteen times if we wanted our desserts. Not good customer care....and yes, we left on time so did not overstay our welcome!
Great food. Friendly staff. Service a little slow.
Great food, great service and great value for money.
Great food had a good time
As always reliable food and service and a great hideaway for those discreet meetings. We’ll be back
Love Giuseppe's - great vibes, great food, great singer!
Lovely ambience in this gem
Of a place
As always a great experience. Good food (crab/lobster ravioli is to die for), great suggestions from the staff on the wine and lovely to meet Giuseppe in person (thanks for the lemoncello! We will be back
So good every time! Every dish I've had is delicious and always comes out super hot. I get food envy looking at what other people have ordered sitting next to me and will continue going to this fabulous restaurant.
Me and my Wife attended Giuseppe's on Valentines day for an evening meal. The welcome was warm, the staff very friendly and the food was great. Only downside was that it was slightly cramped in the seats we were sitting at but other than that, it was a really lovely evening
We were looking for an Italian as we were in the locality at the hospital. A quick opentable search revealed this little Gem. Lovely atmosphere, food was amazing, and the service attentive. I would recommend to friends and I will be returning I’m sure. Very few places give you the authentic Italian experience, they definately do here!
My only complaint was that it was a little cold but I’m not surprised given the outside temp was 0. Thanks again.
I was tempted by the good reviews and generally found this to be a good place to meet and eat close to London Bridge station. Despite what they say, the restaurant is NOT on Borough High Street. The entrance is actually in Kings Head Yard (down a staircase just by The Old Kings Head Pub). Traditional Italian food, good choice of pasta dishes, quaint and cosy. The place got quite busy and lively but for location it ticks the boxes, less than five mins walk from the train station (just a few metres along on the left after the Barclays Bank on the corner of St Thomas Street and Borough High Street). Nothing amazing but certainly not one to avoid. Give it a try and see what you think.
My friend and I booked here for a post-Christmas catch-up lunch - she had eaten here before, but I hadn't. Guiseppe's is underground, smallish and dark and located down an alley off Borough High Street. Probably not somewhere you'd stumble across, which might explain why there were so few customers. It's a nice enough place, but not necessarily somewhere to go if you're after a trendy venue with a bar that serves cocktails (because they don't). So instead we decided to spend our money on a better bottle of wine. As it happens the wine we chose was out of stock, but the manager brought us a more expensive replacement at no extra cost and it was delicious. The portion sizes are generous, and the tagliatelle with salmon that I had was very tasty. My friend couldn't finish her spaghetti 'Shard' as there was too much, but we did, of course, manage puddings! The manager gave us complimentary limoncellos which was a lovely touch.
Booked a table, only to turn up and find the Restaurant closed. Not impressed at all.
Great find, fantastic food in cozy basement restaurant. Would recommend.
Excellent food, this is the second time I have visited Guiseppe's and they do not disappoint. I will be going there again very soon.
Went on a Saturday night for our wedding anniversary, booked for 8:00 and seated on arrival. Great service, food fantastic and the Frank Sinatra crooner made the night that bit more special. He even sang a song for us. Will be returning for sure.
Helpful and friendly staff, the lobster linguine is very very delicious.
I have been to Guiseppe’s a couple of times now and on each occasion the food and service have been excellent. Highly recommended.
Excellent evening, lively and plenty of locals who made us very welcome. Will definitely return in the future.
Very friendly, great atmosphere, amazing food, loved it
Good location near Tower Bridge. Steep stairs to restaurant. Good table for friends to chat. Quick service but standard of food variable and more expensive than expected.
Staff were rude. Wanted you in and out ASAP. Aaaaaaaaa
Been here a couple of time now and have had a great time on both occasions. Polite staff and good size portions of food make this a good choice to eat and have a great time. Does get busy, so booking is recommended.
Lovely atmosphere, good service, huge portions. Will return.
Just felt that if you weren't a regular customer you were seated in the worst tables and were not given the same level of service.
It always seems special when you go to Giuseppes the way your treated. This is my second time there and I hope there will be many more.
