Pretzel app is solid, but make sure to ask for extra cheese sauce. Hamachi dish is solid. Green beans, too salty, but flavor is good, maybe tell the server to ask the kitchen to not add extra salt. I would pass on the chicken. Pork shank is good, I might get it again. Make sure to try the apple dessert.

Great restaurant, really good food. Our server on the other hand was not great, although the service I. General was super attentive and organized. Sadly our server wasn’t happy when she recommended the wine of the day, brought us out a taste, which we didn’t like, and found out it was a bottle costing $160 so she tried hard to upswell the most expensive wine to us. We went with a great French red for $115 instead but she wasn’t happy with that and sort of gave us attitude the rest of the evening. One of us at the table was from the NW wine region, 3 were from Toronto and 1 from NYC. But food, amazing!!!!!!!

First time back here in a couple of years. Dishes were very disappointing and not as high quality as they used to be. Ordered the poke, goat empanadas, short rib, and chickpea fritters. Poke was the only dish that shined — great balance of flavors and textures. Goat empanadas were disappointing (too fried and not much meat). Chickpea fritters flavors didn’t come together and felt hard to structure a succinct bite. Short rib was well cooked but was overpowered by the veggies. Place was filled with suburban tourists. No longer a favorite among the local city crowd.

Too f**ing loud to be enjoyable. Food was ok, if oversalted. Other diners seem to subscribe to the theory that if they aren't shrieking and laughing like hyenas they couldn't have a good time. Made for an excruciating and unenjoyable evening.

The Shrimp & Gotham greens salad is probably the best dish in the city. Girl & The Goat is ranked one of the best in Chicago because they do everything well. Service is outstanding, meal pacing is on point, well-executed food, great drinks, and a cool atmosphere. My one knock is that the greeting you get when you check in could be a bit warmer. Other than that small suggestion - Girl & The Goat is still one of the top 10 restaurants in Chicago.

We arrived at 4:30 PM on Sunday because that was the only time that we could get a reservation. They quickly seated us. The service was good. We made a selection of four different items for two people which was more than enough. My only real complaint was the tables were seated so close to each other that you could not even have a conversation without the people next-door having the same conversation, you literally could not get out of the table without asking the other table to move. Considering it was so early in the evening and we had a flight to catch at six. It would’ve been really nice if they had a seated at somewhere a bit more spaced out instead of everyone in the same corner the food was great will definitely go back would just prefer not to have such a cramped table experience, where you can’t even eat something without someone’s arm being in your way.

Overall it wasn’t a great experience. The noice level is extremely high - untypical for this type of restaurant. We had a table for four and we had to wait all to arrive to be seated. It’s ridiculous in my opinion as anyway they have a no show fee and can always charge. However, our friends were late 2-3 minutes after the grace period and they reseted our table and gave us only a limited time. The host was very rude so I don’t think place like that where the challenge is to make a reservation should allow that. The food was fine bit far from good or delicious. Nothing special in general and it didn’t meet our expectations. We have shared 6-7 different dishes and only the pork shank was ok. The lamb ribs were very dry and not tasty at all. And the deserts were… actually no words for the deserts - worst than ever. Not served appropriately and not tasty at all. Overall - very expensive and overrated restaurant, i don’t think I will go again nor recommend it.

I dined with my 13yo daughter to celebrate her birthday. Overall, everything was great. Food was delicious, of course, it’s a beautiful space, and the service was fast and attentive. It felt a little rushed at times, and I was a bit disappointed by the lack of creativity around non-alcohol drinks. I loved the one zero-proof cocktail but when I asked my server about other options she seemed confused. Please consider a non-alcoholic cocktail menu, adding a few more options, or training the servers how to ask the bartender for varieties. Alcohol-free is an up and coming lifestyle, and the restaurant will benefit from being a bit more proactive and versed in the options.

Not much has changed about this place in 4 years, except the feeling of boredom has crept in where innovation once dwelled. The only difference was that I paid a ridiculous amount for a valet service that required me to cross the street multiple times since the booth was placed in front of the now permanently closed Little Goat. What the what, GATG? When I asked why the valet booth was across the street from the place I had paid $$$ to enjoy, I was told it was a contracted company (AKA "not our fault"). I'd head to Gilt Bar instead if I were you. Their valet booth is conveniently placed for patrons and staff doesn't pass the buck if you share a concern.

The pork shank was fall off the bone delicious, outstanding service, and the fact they were able to make us one of the best chocolate cakes I’ve ever had topped off with a ten year port was literally icing on the cake for the evening.
