Girl & the Goat opened in 2010 with the goal of serving a family style menu of tasty, bold flavored foods in a fun and lively setting. To enhance the experience we offer a selection of wines from around the world with a focus on small producers, a rotating list of craft beers, and a list of fun cocktails created by our bartenders.

Located at 809 W Randolph, Girl & the Goat was one of the first establishments in the Randolph Restaurant Corridor. We offer a variety of seating choices, including a comfortable lounge, bar seats, standard table seating, and four seats close enough to the kitchen line that you might be asked to help. Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads, adventurers, and those of you who don’t like to plan.

Well it’s certainly a happening place although not the place for a romantic dinner given the noise level.

Also if you’re not from the US of A remember that everything is bigger in the States.

As Mr Spock might have said “It’s tapas Jim but not as we know it!”

Live long and prosper.

My wife and I ate at Girl & the Goat for our first wedding anniversary. Our server Gerson was smart, charming, and accommodating to our requests and to my wife's dietary limitations. He recommended wine and food options that were stellar. The food was the best I have yet to eat in 5 years in Chicago. And we even got comp'd a dessert to celebrate the occasion! We will be going back.

Sensational dining, with local ingredientes and amazing service. Also, it's a steal for the price - my friend and I spent around $65 a person (with tips) and ate like queens. Do yourself a favor and get the green beans (which sound lame but are actually amazing) and the goat confit with lobster. I still dream about it...

I was disappointed with the food. The music was extremely loud. My grouper was very salty. The chef was heavy handed with the salt in all dishes. Our table was given a free dessert due to too much spice in two of the dishes. It lacked any flavor. Our table didn't even finish it. This restaurant did not live up to its hype. Sorry I couldn't provide a better review.

First and foremost - the food itself was life-altering. Words fail. It's unreal. The vegetables were the best I have ever had. The Girl and the Goat wrestles flavors out of food that I didn't even know were in there. My life is different, now.

All of the servers were really attentive and did a great job for us, but there was a 30 minute gap between items that didn't seem to make a ton of sense based on what else was left to come to us.

It's also really, really loud. I'm a musician, so I'm used to loud - but it was like 'The Club' loud in there. Which, I mean, you can't have everything - but if there's one thing I'd change with the ambience, I'd cut the volume of the music by half.

I would go back to this restaurant in a heartbeat.

Heard good things about this restaurant. I think it is all a marketing ploy. Terrible food choices, terrible food, LOUD couldn't hear across the table. only redeeming quality was a couple of good wines on the menu. I am a travel and event manager who has to eat out often for work. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you want a good Tapas restaurant, head to Rockford IL and visit Abreo.

Girl & the Goal has been on our list of places to try for quite a long time now but can be very hard to get a reservation. When I was scrolling through Open Table one day and found a reservation at a reasonable hour I booked it right then and there! Our experience at Girl & the Goat was everything we thought it was going to be and more! The service was spectacular and food was incredible! Would highly recommend!

Food and service were outstanding. Especially the goat empanadas, bucatini, peter piper bread. Food comes fairly quickly. BUT, it is very noisy. You can hear conversations, especially people with loud voices, three and four tables away. However, the food makes it worthwhile.

The food was great, particularly the blue point oysters that were cooked to perfection and the unexpected blending of the gaminess of the goat confit with the richness of the lobster. Plan on it being noisy, energetic and crowded; but it is worth it

I was worried that our 10:15 reservation would be at the tail end of service, but G&tG is open until midnight, so we were right in the swing of things! Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. I HIGHLY recommend the crispy pork shank (but only if there are a lot of you and/or you are famished)--the portion was gigantic and I'm sorry we couldn't finish it all!

I cannot rave about this restaurant enough!!! One of the best meals we’ve ever had and we eat out quite a bit. Started with oysters. Plated beautifully and very flavorful. Had to try something with goat although we aren’t sure what we would think. The goat empanadas were amazing. Then had the green beans that we had read about as a ‘must try’. We agree! It was my guy’s favorite part of the meal! Continued with the scallops and pork belly. Although I always love scallops it was the corn salad underneath that I fell in love with. Layer upon layer of flavor. Pork belly was awesome too. For dessert our waiter recommended the chocolate sesame. Sounded unique but we trusted him. Omg! How could one little dessert want me to continue to say mmm??? It was a chocolate dome of amazing ness. The restaurant also surprised us with a serving of their caramel popcorn malt dessert. It looked just like a scoop of ice cream but was so delicious. We didn’t let one spoonful of dessert go to waste even though we were full. If you can get in, please go! Although we were visiting from out of town, we will return to this restaurant.

My wife and I had a fairly nice meal there, but in retrospect it's a little hard to understand all the hype. Some of the plates were better than others (the goat satay and goat carpaccio I enjoyed most) but the striking thing was how salty much of it was. It would have been nice to have some options to choose from which would have cut through some of that saltiness.

They did give my wife a little birthday cake on the house which was nice.

Amazing experience at the Girl and the Goat! I was for visit in Chicago from DC and has been on my checklist to come to this restaurant and it was worth the wait. I am glad I made the reservation a month in advanced. I have no words to describe the amazing experince I had. Service was simply phenomenal from arrival to the minute we left. Food was simply authentic, delicious, and original. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant next time I am in town.

Very busy restaurant. We were seated in the middle of a row of tables and hearing each other was difficult at times. Service was amazing. Devon took great care of us. We enjoyed some dishes a lot, including the salmon starter and the crispy pork leg. Others not so much... very salty green beans and ho-hum cauliflower. Cocktails and wine by the glass options were very good.
