Girl & the Goat opened in 2010 with the goal of serving a family style menu of tasty, bold flavored foods in a fun and lively setting. To enhance the experience we offer a selection of wines from around the world with a focus on small producers, a rotating list of craft beers, and a list of fun cocktails created by our bartenders.

Located at 809 W Randolph, Girl & the Goat was one of the first establishments in the Randolph Restaurant Corridor. We offer dinner service Monday through Sunday as well as Sunday prix-fixe brunch. Girl & the Goat accepts reservations but always welcomes walk-ins, nomads, adventurers, and those of you who don’t like to plan.

Unfortunately, I missed a call from the restaurant which I now assume means they would be closed on the day of my reservation. It was cancelled so I rescheduled it without thinking. Upon arrival, I noticed everything locked down. I'm on a long solo trip so I was looking forward to finally visiting! However, I commend them for staying safe and protecting their staff and guests. I'm positive my experience would have been fantastic! Five stars for your effort in keeping Covid at bay.

Food was amazing, seriously the best in this city. It’s consistently good. However, I wouldn’t ordered drinks again, they were premixed and the alcohol content was very low (esp for $15). The service was outstanding.

Everything we ordered was as delicious as expected and we appreciated the outdoor dining and social distancing measures. After 10 years in business, still one of the best restaurants in Chicago.

The food was delicious as always. The service was attentive. Randolph Street was much quieter than usual due to some street closures, which was nice for the noise level and ambience. It was pleasant to sit outside.

The food here is absolutely incredible. It was a meal to remember. While Chicago had indoor dining closed, we ate outside in the heated tent. It was warm and cozy. I would've frozen outside to eat this meal though. Required dining in the city!

I don't like prefix menu and would not have gone had I known that. the portions were too small to share. The server did say we could ask for additional portions however when we did we were informed that they were out of the poached egg that goes with the steak.The donuts were nothing special and a little dry.My daughter said her donut had lots of apple in it. My donut had none.It was extremely cold in the tent even though we sat next to a heater. We have eaten at The Girl and The Goat before and absolutely love it but this brunch was a little disappointing.

50% of dishes were a hit (Poke, Ribeye Skewers most memorable). Brussel Sprouts were absurdly salty and white mousse dessert missed the mark. It was a comfortable dinner given the COVID outdoor dining requirements, service was pleasant though could've been more attentive. Food just wasn't worth the money paid unfortunately, was really looking forward to the dinner there too.

Given the 40 ish degrees and wind outside, I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable our experience was with heating lamps and warm service. Brought our own blanket which helped! Very good food - green beans, black bass, excellent braised goat special. Yummy sweet potato sticky pudding!

A classic Chicago stable with incredible food and service. A fun atmosphere is created by the cozy space and eccentric servers. Unique craft cocktails make it hard not to try them all.

First time here. Social distancing protocols and temperature checks were followed. Even though I arrived 15 minutes late (thanks, lyft!) my server Trevor timed out my beverage, appetizer, main and dessert within the allotted time window without feeling rushed. Definitely appreciated.

The space is well designed, and ambiance somewhat lively. I imagine if you wanted a quiet corner, it might be difficult on a Saturday night, but several couples were there. You could still hear yourself speak without shouting (even while next to a very excited bachelorette party shouting about Sancerre).

Speaking of Sancerre....wine list is excellent, and by the glass reasonable selection. While I dined alone, their bottle selection was well priced and curated. Heard and saw waitstaff communicating in an approachable yet knowledgeable way to those who were newer to certain varietals. I tried a gin and blueberry cocktail special, and was pleased that it wasn't overly sweet.

Now, to the food--you can really see the influence of the chef's time spent abroad. Green beans were phenomenal, understandable why they're a menu staple. Duck tartare was interesting (first time), but a bit heavily sauced for my taste. The mayo overpowered the duck imo--I'll ask for it on the side next time. The components came together well and balanced out. Dessert was the white chocolate mousse with cotija and green apple, and it was my favorite. Overall, a well developed, cohesive menu with some adventurous items, some more conservative for picky eaters. Food is very rich in general so you don't need much.

Half the menu was unavailable and we were not told until after ordering our drinks. We were not interested in the other half. While what we ordered ended up being delicious and the service was great we wish we knew of the limited options before being seated.

We were told by the maitre D that we had an hour and a half to eat. Never have I experienced that before. We found it to be a very rude way to tell your customers you want to turn their table ASAP. Our service was terrible. Our waiter didn’t arrive for over 10 minutes, And during the meal there were empty wine glasses and empty dishes left on the table for so long I had to put them on a chair. Very disappointed !!! The food was good however. Very good. But if you don’t have the service it’s not worth it.

Was really looking forward to this experience but the food was not up to the hype we had heard. Everything seemed incredibly salty first off.... Our main reaction was that the food that did taste good, was just covered in sauces.... like of course, anything drowned in heavy sauces is going to taste good.... It just seemed for how well known the restaurant is, they were using old tricks in the book.

The food was phenomenal, as expected, and we were equally impressed with our service -- "relentless hospitality" at its finest. I would have spent almost any amount for the fantastic food, cocktails, and wine, but we were honestly surprised at how affordable everything was, considering the quality. Can't wait to go back!

We went on Sunday and had the Sunday brunch, which is a fixed 5-course menu (to share). The food was good, but not outstanding. The first 2 were really good, but the others dishes were rather standard.
