Join us Wednesday, July 2, to celebrate our dear friend Jen Len, a lifelong hospitality pro who grew up behind her family’s Chinese restaurant counter in Hawaii and has since built an acclaimed bartending career across LA, Vegas, and back home. Now RNDC Mixologist for Hawaii, Jen’s 2013 original cocktail was published in Margarita Time by Caroline Pardilla — a milestone we’re honoring with exclusive off-menu cocktails by Jen and Michael, bar snacks by Giovedi, and a signed book auction benefiting the ACLU. Reservations include a two-hour dining experience with a 15-minute grace period. Bar seats will be limited for this special evening, but off-menu cocktails and snacks will also be available alongside our regular menu throughout the dining room. We are avid diners around the world and Giovedi's is one of our favorite places to dine in Honolulu. Chef Bao and front of the house hostess Jen ensure a seamless, friendly dining experience from beginning to end. Great ambiance for date night. We have dined there many times and have tried everything on the menu. Everything dish is seasoned well, balanced and most of all delicious. Standouts are their nairagi crudo with chili crisp and yuzu kosho, green salad, prosciutto san danielle, kanpachi with vaduvan sauce, garlic wagyu steak, gnocchi with beef cheeks, tiramisu. If they have a special for the night, definitely order it. Also their craft cocktails are excellent, they have a great mixologist. Order their house recipe old fashion. Definitely a place I recommend to all my friends. Just voted Best New Restaurant at the Hale Aina Awards. I'm sure they will win Best Restaurant soon.

As winner of the 2025 Hale ‘Aina Award for Best New Restaurant, we were 10+ excited to dine at Giovedi. I made the reservation for our party of 4 about 10 days before. At 6:30 pm on a Friday, the restaurant at near capacity. Initially seated inside, I asked that we be moved outside as it was much quieter. As there was one (last) open table, this was easily accommodated. For cocktails, we started with Dayvan Cowboys and Sport+ Modes which were excellent, flavorful, and appropriately pungent. For apps, we ordered the Hokkaido milk rolls w/ garlic butter, onion dip w/ warm shrimp chips, scallop carpaccio, and nairagi (striped marlin) carpaccio. For entrees, we ordered the mushroom donburi (combined nanatsuboshi white and venere black rice w/ a mixture of mushrooms, infused with pecorino romano), washugyu garlic steak (Oregon crossbreed of Wagyu and Black Angus), gnocchi mapolonese (beef cheek ragu), and capellini granchio (bits of dungeness crab in angel hair pasta). For dessert, we shared 2 tiramisus. Overall, all dishes were flavorful, exquisitely presented, and prepared with premium ingredients. Clearly, Chef Bao Tran is exceptionally talented and well trained. Our unanimous favs were the Hokkaido rolls, onion dip, and mushroom donburi. Among the carnivores, the washugyu was seasoned and grilled to mouth watering perfection. Our waitstaff, Elise (briefly inside) and Jason (outside) were knowledgeable, competent, and warm. They earned high marks. We truly enjoyed our first dining experience at Giovedi. A great choice for a special occasion!

My husband couldn't stop stating how much he loved each dish. We got the Hokkaido milk rolls, Onion dip, Scallop Crudo, Dan Mien Atriciana, Gnocchi, Grilled fish special, Chau Siu Pork & the Spaghetti special. All Were delicious! There were 6 of us and we always eat family style which is what the server suggested. One of the other added touches I loved was at the end they wrapped the leftovers in a little box wrapped with cute florescent rattail cording. Cute detail to your leftovers which we enjoyed the next day. We will be back. So nice to have two fantastic restaurants right next door to each other - Fete gas been one of our all-time favorites, now we can add Giovedi to our favorites list.
