Our anniversary at one of our favorite restaurants. Always a treat for us when we get to town.
Everything was great, but a couple aspects could be improved. There were a lot of small French fry pieces in our pommes frites. The flourless chocolate cake was a bit dry. Thank you for the great evening.
The egg rolls, fries, burgers, soup, Mac and cheese, lettuce wraps, drinks all good. The steak appetizer was not good at all. Fatty!
I have mixed feelings. I was thrilled with the service. Our waitress was awesome and super knowledgeable. Good drinks. However wasn’t blown away by the food. I ordered the bbq ribs and they came out just warm, there was maybe a spoonful of what was suppose to be Kimchi and my sweet potatoe fries tasted more burnt than anything. My husband ordered the duck and although it tasted great it was three very tiny slices. I will heatitste to go back just because I like more value for my money.
Met a girlfriend for yummy Asian fusion bites, fun cocktails and catch-up conversation. This place was perfect for all of these things! The service was attentive and not intrusive, our server was fun and the food delish! Check this place out-you won’t be disappointed!!!
Great! Definitely will go back!
A local turned me on to this elegant little gem. Expensive but so worth it.
Had a birthday dinner with my daughter here after a week of fishing in Bristol Bay as we were preparing to fly out of town. Excellent server who allowed to take our time with drinks and nicely pace our dinner. We shared the lettuce wrap appetizer, which was excellent. I had a hearty cheeseburger for my entree, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Great martini and a very nice wine list.
I always enjoy Ginger. The meal was impeccable as usual. Truly enjoy the varied flavors of the Banana Lemongrass soup. Had the Mee Krob that is equally diverse in its flavors. I will be back.
Nice place, great service. Food was interesting and well prepared. Only knock on the food was that the sweet potato fries were grease- a surprising lack of excursion considering how well the rest of the food was prepared
Scallop Mac and Cheese is lacking in flavor. The scallops were done perfectly but sauce and cheese needed some flavor. Very high calorie meal, get something else.
We always enjoy Ginger. Creative and tasty food! But our favorite part is the amazing service from Gina! Just the best!!!!
My wife and I found it on a visit to Anchorage 2 days ago. It’s so great we’re back for Sunday brunch today as I write this, and it’s just as great. It’s the complete package- great food, great service, attractive decor and presentation, knowledgeable and friendly waiters! What a find! Its reason enough to return to Alaska!
Our second time at this restaurant, separated by 5 years. Food was excellent. A great Anchorage restaurant.
My veggie burger was fantastic. The frittes a little soggy, but we ate them. Love the quietness, so perfect for having a conversation or business meal. Our server seemed a little un-informed though. When someone asked if Ginger referred to a person or the seasoning he said it was a chain (I don't think it is a chain restaurant.... at least when i google it I don't see any other location but Anchorage!) Then someone asked about the size of the portions and he seemed unsure about that too. Maybe he was new? Otherwise he did fine as far as taking our order, etc. All in all, a nice place to come for good food and conversation.
Great food and excellent services as well as helpful staff with wine recommendations!it was a lovely evening and even though there was a lot of people when we left the noise level was still tolerable
Great fusion restaurant. Very friendly staff. Good value for money.
The food was good, but we were seated between two very loud tables while many others were open. It was very unfortunate, as it made our dinner much less enjoyable. I would recommend this restaurant for the food, but not the seating. I think on other occasions it`s probably a great restaurant, but our experience was not worth the price.
Waited long time for food
Service not friendly but then I was just on cruise where they were super friendly
Apps were good
Meal was ok
Cheesecake was good but too warm
Ginger is one of our go-to restaurants for date night or an evening out with friends. Super yum food and a relaxing, romantic ambiance make for a fun night prior to a theatre event or just for dinner and drinks. Creative libations and a good wine menu make for delicious aperitifs prior to dinner.
Food was great and the service was exceptional. I would highly recommend this place when you are visiting Anchorage.
I have found restaurants in Alaska that high reviews do not translate to major cities in the states. But no offense to Alaskans, great state just not a good Mecca
The food just wasn't very good and the service was slow even though it wasn't that crowded
We loved Ginger! We will definitely go back. The food was was very good, the waitress was was friendly and super sweet. I don’t remember her name but we had a reservation for 5:30 on Friday night (7/20/18) she deserves to be recognized! We sat buy the window on the right. She was so nice and patient. Loved the feel of the restaurant!
My husband and I have been here a couple times and we've always had wonderful experiences! Amazing food and such friendly wait staff! I would highly recommend having a date night or a night out with friends here!
The food was innovative, the flavors were delicious and everything tasted fresh. Meat was cooked perfectly. We order the gouda cheese risotto balls, I had the blackberry sauce ribs with the sweet potatoes and my partner had steak over mashed potatoes and fried asparagus. The only thing that was not good was the service. Our waitress was not very nice... I got confused with one menu item and she reacted annoyed...I felt very uncomfortable. I ordered a beer and she brought a different one. I asked her to change it and she did (she apologized). She was treating me and my partner very differently from the other people that were sitting around us. I asked her for a to go box for my leftovers, she never brought it. We didn't feel comfortable asking her again. She was clumsy and extremely serious, not welcoming at all. We left her a 15% tip, but she didn't deserve it.
Our 2 vegan entrees (vegan curry and tofu veggie teriyaki) and one vegan appetizer (spring roll with special-made sauce) and house salads were awesome! We come here specifically for vegan friendly food, although it is a bit oil-heavy. Staff was attentive and efficient! Will be back!
The greeter/hostess is pleasant and efficient. Server Jerod is attentive and helpful in selecting a wine choice. The wait staff assistant is outstanding in keeping water glasses filled and empty dishes removed from the table. The presentation of all the food is attractive and appealing complete with fresh garnish. This is fine dining done right.
Excellent and creative cusine in the downtown Anchorage. The competition is high during the tourist season and the Ginger is up to the task.
Always outstanding! The waiter was extremely attentive and professional. The cocktails are the best in town. And the food is dependably superb. Loved our ribs and tofu (two separate entrees.) The one addition I might have liked would have been to have Happy Anniversary written somewhere on the dessert plate (jnstead of “Ginger”) but maybe those are premade. I will know next time to ask.
Really nice environment. Service was good. Steak was great. Tuna tower not so good.
Overall enjoyed ourselves.
The service was amazing and the food was spectacular! Definitely plan on going back soon!
The overall experience was wonderful.
I had the duck and the only thing I can complain about is that the duck skin was soggy. I could not eat the duck skin that way.
Gina did an awesome job. Drink recommendations were perfect and changed up to pair with our meals. Tenderloin was perfectly done and so yummy. The cauliflower was so delicious!
The scallop mac and cheese was amazing- though description in menu sounded odd. There was something for everyone so it was one of our best meals for the week we were visiting AK.
Probably considered reasonably priced for Alaska. Food was generally good.
We went there for our last dinner in Alaska before the end of vacation. The restaurant was quiet and the food was really really good! The service was excellent. Definitely a place I would recommend for dinner with friends/family or even a date. Ask for anything, they will do their best for you.
Wonderful food and friendly service. We chose a bunch of appetizers and salad and all were tasty. Would definitely go back!
